THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Acropolis is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Athens. The long pedestrian street passes in front of the Acropolis, Herodeion Theater, the New Acropolis Museum and finally reaches the Hadrian Arch. It is also known as Makrigianni quarter in Athens, where the statue of Makrigiannis lies, the hero of the Greek Revolution, that is found at the beginning of this street, in a small round square. Its architectural beauty and its historical significance, make this quarter popular among tourists and a favorite spot of the Athenians to stroll around on a Sunday morning, under the Holy Rock. It borders with the picturesque neighborhood of Plaka from one side and the region of Koukaki on the other.
The most famous sights in Athens are found within a walking distance from the Neighborhood. Museums include the new Acropolis Museum (2-minute walk from the apartment), the new Jewish Museum of Greece (6 min walk), the Museum of Greek Folk Art (6 min walk), an annex of which is the Old Public Baths building, the Frissiras Museum, the Museum of Popular Music Instruments, the Museum of Pavlos and Alexandra Kanellopoulou and the Athens University Museum (15 min walk). Nearby is Adrianou Street (4 min walk) which may be the oldest street in Athens still in continuous use with exactly the same layout since antiquity, that leads to the Roman Agora - Roman Forum (12 min walk) and to Thiseio. Also, the Acropolis entrance is a 2 min walk from the apartment. Other remarkable sights nearby are Herodes Atticus Theatre, the Pnyx Hill, and the picturesque neighborhood with the greek island-like houses, Anafiotika.
Aside from sightseeing, note that the neighborhood is full of nice cafes and bars.

This was a very clean flat right in the middle of the happenings in the Plaka neighborhood. We were able to walk out the door and enjoy cafes, restaurants, and shopping. All attractions were within a relatively easy walk. Flat was clean with AC which helped during our hot summer stay.

The apartment was in an ideal location
and a great value. Close to great restaurants, major attractions, transportation and any thing you would need or want. The halls were very dark until we figured out the light system.
Th property looks a bit aged from thebphotos but we would stay here again and will recommend it to our friends!

We loved our stay. The apartment is in a great location. Walkable to many areas in the Plaka district. Very close to the Metro station, which was very easy to use. The apartment is clean. The only complaint we had was the shower. There is no door and the water was spraying on the bathroom floor. This does not affect our rating. It is still a great place.

Hubs and I stayed here 2.5 weeks. Convenient location near Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, and subway. Terrific restaurants a few short blocks away from the touristy area. Apartment was clean, fully equipped, communication with management was excellent. Highly recommend!

This apartment is the best location for visiting Athens.
This apartment was in the best location for us while visiting Athens. It was very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We would definitely book this place again on a future trip. It’s fairly easy to find by taxi or take the metro to Acropolis Station and go right on the walking Avenue and it will be on your right hand side next to the Fresh Yougurt Store. The manager meet us at the apartment to show us around. All went smoothly.
