We had a satisfactory experience during our stay. The main issue is that the second floor is very hot, so we had to turn the thermostat down and make it freezing cold on the first floor in order to adequately cool the upstairs. There were fans that we found in 2 of the bedrooms, though one we didn't find until we were checking out. The other issue is that the beds are very hard, though some people like hard beds, so that may be a positive aspect to others. Other than that, the place was very clean and comfortable. I would stay here again, though maybe in winter.

This was a nice place to stay. Not too far from Palmyra and Niagara Falls which is where we were visiting. The house is older and could really use some work, but having three bedrooms and a parking spot was perfect for our family. The neighborhood is decent. It is good to be aware that the freezer will only lightly freeze food - ice cream will come out almost melty. I'd stay here again if I visited Rochester in the future.

Close to RIT for graduation. Hopefully the listing was corrected as there is no hot tub. Owner was very timely in response to my 3 questions. I will mention that the toilet seat needs different screws so that it doesn’t move. The bathtub needs a mat or a non-skid surface. Just to mention, this is a 100 year old house so the floors do creak mostly in the upstairs hallway. The rate charged was a fair price for the house.

Older home, within 10 minutes from pretty much anywhere you wanted to go. Very helpful notes left from the host. Allowed us to enjoy our vacation without worrying about where we are staying at all. Would definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area.

It felt like home, very relaxing

This was one of our favorite places in Rochester so far! We came up for a recital my son was giving in honor of his first flute teacher, his Grandma, who passed away unexpectedly. He attends Eastman, so we come up frequently.
This cute house was clean and tastefully decorated. There were extra touches everywhere, like welcome sign, water bottles, extra toiletries, and plenty of towels. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The parking spot was great to have. Sherrita was in touch with us before the check in process and we had no issues while we stayed. My father-in-law even said that the bed was better than his bed back home!
We will definitely be coming back to this cute house in the future!

We travelled to Rochester to visit our son for R.I.T.'s Brick City Weekend. The hotels in the area were a bit pricy for a place just to crash for the evenings. We decided to check out VRBO and found a more reasonable solution. Sadly, the property was already rented. But the owner was working on this property. The house was ready for us when we arrived. It is an older house and doesn't have all the amenities of new construction. But it was a cozy and we found ourselves just hanging out in the evening talking and playing games.
Communication with the owner was timely, courteous and honest. We would rent from them in the future when visiting Rochester.
It reminded my wife of her grandparents home and our 17 year old daughter even liked it.
And for those who need to stay connected, the wifi was great.

The property is over 100 years old so it’s to be expected to have some issues which we were ok with, like the stairs being very steep an the layout of the house. We really actually enjoyed being in such an old house. The only real bummers where that the upkeep of the house upstairs was a bit lacking. The bedroom and bathroom doors were each on their last leg and looked like they came from old closet doors. The bathroom had a tub which the hot water valve sprayed water when turned on. The flooring upstairs also had some sagging places where it was falling down and felt unstable. If those issues were corrected the house would feel more comfortable.

The home was clean and tastefully decorated/furnished. We stayed in the winter and the house did stay warm nicely. There were nice extras like coffee, tea, spices and soaps & spare toothbrushes in the bathroom. There are a lot of steep stairs but the railings were stable. The floor on the stairs and bedrooms were all carpeted but uneven in places. The shower had good pressure and stayed warm. There were several cosmetic things that could have looked nicer and the bathroom sink certainly needs a drain plug so nothing falls down the sink, but for the price it was a good deal. We cooked several meals there using both the stove top and oven. They both worked well. The kitchen utensils were adequate but sparse. I recommended that a can opener be added to the kitchen. Overall nice for the price.
