About this house rental
You enter the townhouse through a heavy wooden door on Place de la Halle in the heart of the quaint, medieval village of Saint Antonin Noble Val, - the setting for the recent Helen Mirren film 'The 100 foot journey' . The door leads to a courtyard, with two terraces, one with a lovely private pool and a lounge, the other with furniture for outdoor dining and general laziness!
The 3 story spacious and light filled house, built in 1385!!, is packed with period features, ancient beams, 4 metre high ceilings and some lovely stonework. But is also has all the things modern life requires, high speed internet, UK TV by satellite and a well equipped kitchen.
On the main street of the Sunday marché you can enjoy the market from above and are not disturbed by the village noise, due to double pane windows.
Nearby are restaurants, a bar and many small shops. Groceries are also easily accessed from the local markets. And of course the Aveyron River is close by, offering many options for enjoying the water - with kayak and canoe routes, nature and the outdoors for hiking, climbing, caving, and strolling.
You will find endless pleasurable ways to pass the days - Or you can choose to restore yourself next to the quiet and very private pool.
Out of peak season we offer lower monthly rates.

The house is almost 700 years old, just like the town, but it is very comfortable, clean and easy to live in. It has everything you need I'm the kitchen and a lovely courtyard to sit and eat or relax. The pool is small but perfectly formed! We had a great week wandering around the medieval city and others in the area. Would love to visit again. Thanks Lyn

This is France
This is a stunning 14th century town house set in the the heart of the most gorgeous village. The house is very well appointed and comes with a private pool, add in the location and this property becomes a very rare find indeed. Lyn and Jim who own this town house were fantastic hosts who were there for us with good advice on the best local restaurants, places of interest and markets that should not be missed. This was a more than a holiday for us it was a life experience that will be hard to replicate and we cant wait to go back, this is a true taste of France.

Like a fairy- tale
A beautiful, medieval house in the very middle of a living, authentic village. Very well equipped in every way, tastefully decorated with an amazing pool in the courtyard. The hosts were lovely and truly made us feel welcome. We even had an opportunity to see some exceptionally talented photography by our hostess in her gallery downstairs. Saint-Antonin has a special atmosphere. An unforgettable stay, highly recommended!

A lovely house full of character set right in the heart of the village.
We had a great stay for four adults at St Antonin Noble Val. The house has bags of character. Lyn met us on arrival and we saw her again on the day of departure. She was very helpful with advice and recommendations of where to eat, etc. The house is situated right in the heart of the village with a bar and restaurants within a few metres. The market on Sunday is a real treat and stretches from one end of the village to the other, this is also when the shops open, some were closed apart from Sunday. It is well worth spending time wandering the village, finding little tucked away shops and bars. We ate in the village at least once a day, we loved ‘Le Festin de Babette’ eating there three times, it just over the bridge with a great view of the village back over the river, staff were very attentive and the food extremely good. For lunch ‘A La Table d’Antoinine’ is hard to beat, with a very brief menu but of the finest quality and cooked to perfection, this along with the welcoming owners makes this a must visit place. A quick drink in Bacchus on the way back from dinner was a lovely way to complete the evening, but we did not enjoy the food there, it has a great terrace and for a lazy afternoon in the sun a great place to while away a few hours. The ‘Plage’ down on the river is a very rustic bar that overlooks the river, I would imagine very busy in the summer months, a great vantage point for swimming. Days out included visits to Rocamadour (if you want to walk the ramparts at the top make sure you each have a €2 coin for entry as the kiosk is not always manned), Cordes sur Ciel (great wine cave near the square, amazing views), Albi (worth following the historical trails, amazing cathedral) all great days out spent wandering the sights. A lovely place to explore and wander the hilltop villages and larger towns. We will return to enjoy this idyllic part of France.
