Great location and proximity to downtown Swansboro.. However the lockbox was not in good repair and we were unable to get into the home. The owner or manager was not responsive at all and never got back to us. The home is older and not very well kept. I would not recommend Renting with this owner. Terrible experience

The owner was incredibly helpful and responsive. There was plenty of space and bathrooms for the group we traveled with. The yard is great, the parking was great, and the location is unbeatable. It was super neat to stay in one of the historic homes in Swansboro, and see these old homes being so well cared for.
I have read a few things about the air conditioning. It got warm sometimes (stayed in September), and I bet it'd get cold in there in the winter too. Plan accordingly.

Southern Charm Where Memories Are Made
This property was very accurately described and pictured on the website. You can tell that a lot of love went into every decorative element in this house., a feel good kind of home. You also have all the amenities that you could possibly need in this property, you just have to bring yourself and create everlasting memories with your loved ones. This property is also in walking distance to all the little shops and restaurants that are in historic downtown Swansboro.

Swansboro home
the property was very nice, the stay was excellent except for the thermostat reset temperature at night and away, the A/C could not catch up after it reset itself. I like it cool and understand the home owner trying to save energy but not while i am paying for it.

Great property
We love that the house was in downtown Swansboro. The house was tidy and clean. The backyard had great porch swings and a hammock. We were very comfortable.

Cluttered
Swansboro is a delightful town and we enjoyed our visit very much. The house was dusty and there was no hot water in the master bath. I had an 11 month old climber with me so I had to put up a lot of Knick-knacks. I guess I didn’t put them back in the proper place and Carla got nasty with me. Oh well- you will like it but don’t move anything!!!

Adequate
This property was great for walking to downtown Swansboro. However, it did not comfortably sleep 8 adults. The pullout in the living room simply did not work for us. The throw rugs throughout the house proved a hazard for me, as I was on crutches/knee scooter with both legs immobilized. The biggest problem I had with the house was it simply did not seem clean. It was dusty, and the knick-knacks throughout the house were overwhelming. In fact the night prior to my daughter's wedding, she had to leave. She stated she felt she was being "smothered by the stuff in the house".

This is our 2nd stay and this beautiful home. The home has everything you need for a wonderful get away. There's plenty of room for family, friends and entertaining inside and out. Owner was very personable and the house was in a wonderful location. We brought our dog, because of the fenced in backyard, we had to keep watch on him because he's nosy and there were areas he could get through and under, but everything worked out great. Would love to stay here again because the area is so quaint and friendly.

Home away from home
My children and I had a great stay at The Methodist Parsonage. It was my first Thanksgiving since my mom always cooks! We really enjoyed our stay with our Marine. Close to base. Swansboro was so quaint and decorated for the holidays! Wat a great home! Carla was very kind and helpful in making sure that our stay was perfect!

Totally Relaxing!
My family (and friends) have stayed in this lovely home multiple times over the last 5 years. It is so comfortable and the location is perfect. We have family and friends in the area and the house and yard are perfect for having cookouts. The beach is a short drive but it is worth it to stay in this lovely historic town. Don't miss the restaruants and charming shops as well as the waterway. This is a gem!

Wonderful Christmas in Swansboro
We could not have been more pleased with our stay this past Christmas in Swansboro. Since our daughter leaves nearby and our family is rather large we needed more sleeping space than her home could provide. Therefore, we rented the Creed home in Swansboro. Everything about this home and town was perfect and delightful. The Creeds even left special Christmas goodies for our family to enjoy. This home is extremely neat, clean and very charming. Everything from the rental of the property, checking in and departure was so easy and pleasant. Our family felt so welcomed and relaxed. Thank you for helping our Christmas away from home so wonderful. I highly recommend this home to others. In fact we plan to try to rent it again when all our family gathers again in the Swansboro area.

Pictures do not do the property justice!
We rented the house for the weekend before the Fourth of July holiday and had a wonderful time.We were pleasantly surprised that the property was even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. My boyfriend, his mother, my brother, our children (ages 10-19), and I were able to spend the weekend together with plenty of room to spread out.His sister, brother-in-law, and niece even joined us for the day on Saturday and we were all able to have dinner together in the spacious dining room. Throughout the weekend we enjoyed swimming on Bear Island, kayaking & boating in the ICW, biking along the Bicentennial Bicycle Route, and visiting shops. The house was well-equipped for our needs with all the comforts of home and we only needed to bring beach towels/toys and food! Our only regret is that we weren't able to stay for the festivities on Independence Day as we needed to drive home (Durham/Chapel Hill) to work the next day. We will definitely be returning as soon as we are able to get everyone together again!

Very Comfotable
We stayed in Swansboro awaiting our sons return to Camp Lejeune from Afghanistan. It is only a 20 minute drive to the main gate at Lejeune. This rental offers much more privacy and comfort than any hotel can give. The owner of the home was very accommodating and concerned that our stay went well. If you are looking for a good nights sleep this is the place, the beds are extremely comfortable.

Loved it!!!
My family enjoyed our trip to Swansboro. As usual we enjoyed walking into town to enjoy coffee shops, restaurants, and watching the boats on the river. The beach is only a short drive from the house which is wonderful to come in for lunch or a break from the "sun". The house had lots of "extras" and was warm and cozy!! We will definately be staying again!!

Fun in Swansboro!
We love this charming historic house in the qaint little town of Swansboro. We have stayed here several times and will keep coming back for more. We love the cozy comforts of the house and all the conveniences that come with it, not having to pack your own bedding and towels what more could you ask for...We loved to lounge on the deck during the day and to have dinner on it at night. The fenced in back yard is great for the kids to play and burn off some energy. Afternoon and evening strolls down to the local ice- cream shop were a favourite, all the shops are within walking distance, even for a two year old.
It is also a quick 5 min drive to the beach, what a pleasure. Once again many wonderful memories were made and a fantastic time was had by all. I highly recommend this cottage to the young and single or married with kids...

Fantastic Vacation Home!
I recently stayed at this vacation home with my family and friends and had a wonderful time! I would definitely recommend staying at this charming vacation home to anyone who is considering a quite relaxing setting.
There is plenty to do right within walking distance of the cottage. My family and I enjoyed quiet walks through the town as well as visits to the many shops and restaurants close by. The children enjoyed the lovely new playground complete with slides, swings etc (also within walking distance), this kept them busy for a few hours. The local ice-cream shops were visited on several occasions and when we needed a recharge, the coffee shop down the road kept us going with their gourmet coffee selections.
The beach is close by and took just a few minutes to get there, so we were able to spend most of our time on the beach enjoying the warm summer sun! My husband is an avid fisherman and he and his friends loved the convenience of walking to the docks to do some fishing. Might I add that several fish were actually caught!
No matter what it is you are looking for I think that you will find it in this holiday home. The house was neat and provided plenty of sleeping space. The back yard was great for barbequing and the kids were able to run around and play in the fenced yard while we took a break.
We are planning to visit the beach again soon and this cottage in Swansboro will be our first choice!!

Our Favorite Place!
We have spent several wonderful weekends at this property. Swansboro is a delightful little town and this charming house is perfectly located to make the most of it. It is comfortably and very attractively furnished, and being in the historical district means it is in easy walking distance of all of Swansboro's downtown shops and restaurants. It is an easy wander down to the water to fish or watch the sun set over the sound. This property also has a lovely fenced garden - a real bonus when you have small children. It's a short drive to the beach so we were able to enjoy all our favorite activities - swimming, boating and walking.
We will be back, and can certainly recommend this property for a great vacation.
