About this house rental
'Sunset Center' is an adjacent pair of family vacation houses. The 'Sun House' is a 6 bedroom, 4 bathroom vacation home featuring a private gated 15x30 heated swimming pool, 6 person hot tub, playscape, and wooded ravine lot with fire pit. The property is an easy 4 block walk down the sidewalk to South Beach, Kid's Corner, and downtown shopping and dining.
All comforts of home are provided, including washer and dryer, linens, all major kitchen appliances (including refrigerator with ice and water dispenser, range, dishwasher, and microwave), kitchen utensils, free wireless Internet, 8 cable TVs (Four X1 Voice Enabled boxes with apps such as Netflix, Youtube, and access to the HDR, and 4 basic cable boxes for the remainder), many DVD/VCR players, CD players, just to name a few.
The house is perfect for families with children of all ages. The pool and hot tub are gated for your protection. Both the front and back yards are fenced.
Family-friendly items included are books for all ages, toys, puzzles, movies for all ages, well-loved bikes, riding toys, high chair, full size crib with rocking chair, baby gate, exersaucer, strollers, sippee cups, baby monitor, booster seats, kid-sized picnic table, and pool toys.
Enjoy the flexibility and convenience of having 6 private bedrooms, conveniently located throughout the house! 4 bedrooms are upstairs. One is a large master suite with private bathroom. Another full bathroom is in the upstairs hall. 2 bedrooms are downstairs, each adjacent to separate full bathrooms. The house has an open design, with the living room, dining area and kitchen all open to each other in a 'great' room. The sunroom overlooks the backyard pool and wooded ravine yard. The sunroom can be accessed from either the hallway or through the kitchen.
There is another bonus room downstairs that is referred to as the 'futon room' or the 'play' room since it can be closed off as a 7th bedroom with a futon or utilized as a another common living room with a TV/VCR/DVD with a video library and bookshelves loaded with books, games, and toys.
The pool will be open and heated from mid May until approximately October 1. The hot tub is open and heated year-round. Enjoy the rare warm water in South Haven in June and September!

Everyone wants to come back! The accommodations were comfortable and clean with so much available for summertime fun. The location is close to both the beach, which is pristine, and the town, which is hoppin', giving our children and their families much to enjoy with little travel.
Jim was so kind and generous, making sure we had everything we needed. He went above and beyond to make our stay in his beautiful home a vacation to remember. Thank you, Jim!

Overall things were nice for a family of 12. The owner was on top of all of our needs. The house is very kid friendly. My only suggestion would be to update the bedrooms with shades. The curtains are very thin,

This will be a great news/not so great type of review. First the great. The house was great. Upon our arrival it was clean and accommodated my family perfectly. There was plenty of room for our three daughters and nine grandchildren ranging from 11 years old to four months. The bedrooms were setup nicely and the four bathrooms came in handy with such a large group. Supplies were adequate and greatly appreciated. Much time was spent enjoying the front porch and sunroom. No complaints about any of this part of the property.
My main issues were with the outside part of the property which was a huge factor in our decision to rent this property. Upon our arrival I found the pool and deck areas less than satisfactory. There were bird droppings on the sides of the pool and on the deck area. The entire area was littered with leaves and tree debris. I had guests arriving in three hours and knew the first thing my grandkids would want to do is hit the pool. I was able to make a quick trip to the nearby Ace Hardware and purchased a blast nozzle and spent about two hours remedying this problem that I feel should never have been an issue to begin with.
After this was taken care of we had a great week of swimming and family fun at this house. The location is great and I believe the host to be an honest and honorable man. Because of the issues described above I can't give more than an 8 out of 10 review. Our experience was great other than these issues

We had an absolute amazing time at this location for vacation! We came right before Memorial Day weekend and it was awesome! We had 5 kids and the pool was so much fun for them! There were so many kid items there as well as toys for them, which was helpful! We did rent the golf cart as well and had so much going for little golf cart rides, heading down to the marina, or going the few blocks to the sand/lake! The location of this house makes it easy to walk wherever you want to go or take a quick ride. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions as well. We definitely would recommend this spot to anyone looking to take a trip!

We go someplace every new years weekend to celebrate a family gathering. This property ty was exceptional! Very well stocked, everything worked as it should, close proximity to downtown and the owner, Jim, was accessible when we needed him. It’s definitely a property we would come back to.

There was 8 in our family group, plenty of sleeping options. Kitchen a little small. Arcade game was a hit. I would recommend paying the extra and renting the golf cart. Convenient to downtown and lake. Overall good place to stay. Would not recommend October, lots of place and things to do were closed and it rained all 3 days.

Loved our long weekend in South Haven; the house gave us perfect walking access to downtown as well as to the beach. Bedrooms and baths (and four showers!) met the needs of all of us—6 adults and 5 kids ages 15, 14, 13, 12, and 12. Pool and hot tub were used frequently. We cooked all our own meals—great gas grill and good assortment of pots and pans. Appreciated the supply of paper supplies provided—even Kleenex in the bathrooms. Good communication with Jim, who checked in and provided any needed assistance. We wished the house had been a little bit cleaner, but overall would gladly come back.

Properties were amazing, pictures didnt do them justice!! Whenever we had a need for anything, we found it in the house already. The owner truly thought of everything! We had great communication with the owner. I couldn't have picked a better VRBO home!! This house was great for our group of women to enjoy for the wkd. We appreciate that there was a full kitchen with plenty oof cookware and appliances. We were grateful for four bathrooms and found the heated pool and hot tub to be quite relaxing!

The owner was helpful and accommodating the hot tub was amazing! This place had more than enough room for our large group and the Atari machine on the wall provided hours of group fun in the cold weather. Great location, short walk to the shops and restaurants and a nice quiet view out back amongst the trees. We will be back again. Thanks Jim!

The property is conveniently located, and pictures provided accurately represent the interior and exterior spaces. The amenities provided facilitate fun and relaxation for all age groups. The kitchen is well equipped; indoor and outdoor cooking options and supplies are consistent with the number of guests the house comfortably accommodates. The check in and out procedures are clear, and processes are smooth. We did not have a need to contact the host during our stay, but he reached out to us upon our arrival to ensure everything was in order and answer any initial questions regarding the property and amenities. Our group enjoyed the property, which is suitable for families or adult groups. We would return to this rental without hesitation based on our experience. Perfect stay!
We rented this property after having stayed at South Haven with the same group at a different property 2 years prior. It was such a refreshing, updated home that housed 6 adults and 7 kids, 3 months-5 years. It was spacious, equipped with a playroom and gated front yard the kids enjoyed. We are looking forward to coming back the next time we can get together and make use of the pool!

Very nice home, lots of bedrooms and (finally) a decent number of bathrooms, which is hard to find. Fun area and the residents are friendly and very welcoming! Owner is nice and accommodating of requests. We had a good rental experience!

Family gathering: sisters and daughters ( born & married into the family) for a weekend of crafting and catching up.
We really enjoyed the hot tub…even a few dips in the pool.
There were plenty of rooms for all.
The kitchen is well stocked ( Keurig; plenty of pans and dishes)
Only a few blocks from downtown with cute shops and great restaurants and close to the beach.
Owner was prompt in answering any questions.
We enjoyed lots of bonding time and plenty of relaxation.

Nice place!
We had 2 families (9 kids) plus grandparents. The house was clean and well stocked with pretty much anything needed. Lots of games/books/toys. The four bathrooms with showers were awesome when it came time for everyone to clean up after the beach/pool! The pool and hot tub were very nice! The play set was not visible from this property. It was down a small path with trees. The owner was very responsive to messages. The check-in; check-out process was quick and easy.

Amazing family rental. For young children they had everything you could possibly need or imagine from strollers and beds to bikes, games and toys. The pool was amazing. Warm enough to swim even on the cooler nights. Just a short walk from the beach and to downtown. Would definitely rent again!

Great big fun house
My husband and I and our 2 young sons (ages 4 and 6) stayed here for a week for a getaway during COVID and had a great time. Lots of kids toys and games that kept the kiddos entertained along with the hot tub. Tons of space for multiple families, although it was just the 4 of us. The house is close to downtown where we picked up some great meals and coffee, played in the snow at the Kids Corner park, and went sledding just down the street. This place would be a blast in the summer!

Great place for our annual Christmas / New Years Family Hangout. Comfortable and clean. Close to lots of shopping. Highly recommend for families with kids. Tons of toys, garage is full of bikes, play areas. Would be so fun in the summer.

Huge house and perfect pool
My husband and I stayed here with our kids for about 10 days. We had some additional family stay with us a few days as well and we were able to comfortably accommodate everyone because it has so many bedrooms. We loved how comfortable it was, even with a lot of people in the house. The wide stairs in the pool were awesome for the older person and the little kids getting in and out of the pool. The pool was heated and so warm, so we were swimming everyday even on October 1st. Our kids loved all the toys at the house. We went to kids corner (a few blocks away) almost everyday and also went to the beach (about 6 blocks) everyday. The location is super convenient to get to downtown, the beach and kids corner. The owner is super responsive and easy to work with. We had a great experience here and plan on returning again next year!

Beautiful South Haven Home
My family and I had a great stay! This home has everything you need for a great vacation and is in a perfect location- 4 or 5 blocks to the water, and the same for the downtown area with great shops and restaurants. Our kids loved the heated pool and we loved the hot tub. Most importantly, the host is incredibly accommodating and answers all your questions promptly. We’ll be back in the Spring or Summer!

Fantastic House!!
We just got back from a bachelorette weekend away. Jim was extremely helpful with communication and how to handle the hot tub. The house is so open and spacious. The house has pretty much everything you need kitchen utensil wise to be able to feed a large group of people. I would highly suggest this house for any occasion and would like to come back!
