Très belle étape

Excellente adresse: bel hôtel qui marie l'ancien et le moderne. Belle chambre confortable (lit juste un peu mou); environs agréables et belles promenades; les gens du village sont charmants et le personnel de l'hôtel très agréable. Un grand parking à l'accès facile; bon dîner au bar et bon petit déjeuner.

Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

The Avalon is my first choice of hotel when visiting my family in Kilkenny. The rooms are really comfortable and tastefully decorated, the inclusion of a coffee machine is very welcome. The hotel has a very homely atmosphere and the staff are wonderful, so kind and friendly. I would really recommend breakfast, a good selection of local produce really well cooked and served. Thank you for another wonderful stay

Hotel was clean

Overpriced, the front desk guy was rude, no sound proofing therefore could not sleep with the disco going on two floors below us. Two single beds velcro'd together which kept separating. No bath but room was equipped with a shower with no way way of keeping water from flooding the entire bathroom floor, therefore shower soaked the entire bathroom which was hazardous trying to use the bathroom after a shower, no shelf's etc in bathroom to place toiletries. Upon check out, the lady at the front desk barely said two words to us, common courtesy to ask how was your stay etc. I can understand one front of desk person having a bad day but two, seems like they couldn't be bothered with customer service. Customers should be made aware of noise from functions prior to booking. €249 for a few hours sleep is excessive

Very nice hotel. Whatever food came out of the kitchen, it was a bomb! Well done to chef.

Morning breakfast... ordered from kitchen-again, excellent in taste.. but short for supply. There was no bread, pastries... nothing on the self-service, Swedish table... empty glasses and juice and empty spaces where pastries, selection of ham, cheese ect was... staff were young and unable to explain reassure.. a bit lost, so many unhappy customers that morning and a chaos... things happen, but simple sorry or idea of settling the situation would be appreciated if not from the waitress than manager... It's such a pity because the place looked stunning in design and was comfy. Last night dinner was amazing, cool location.

A lovely, enjoyable stay.

Comfortable with good amenities. Good food and a great bar.

The shower was over a small bath. I’d have preferred a walk in shower.

Food and drink is over-priced. Check in is too late and and check out is too early. Tiny double room unless you pay extra. Not food value for the price

A most enjoyable stay

We travelled from Galway to the Avalon House Hotel, which is a fair drive. Upon arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff even the staff passing through reception said hello. Our room was ready and we both agreed the following morning the bed was the best ever we slept in. We had lunch in the bar, served by friendly local boys and girls who may be on summer holidays and working at the hotel. The food was very good and the location of the hotel is excellent, a small walk to the Discovery Park. We would definitely go back there.

The location is great, the decor is gorgeous and the bed was very comfortable. The food was also excellent. The room was spotless and well maintained.

Service in the bar was disorganised but the food was great when we eventually got served.

good location, decent place to commute to other towns facilities is mediocre a bit more expensive

Location was good close to most major locations but you will need a car because there is little to no public transport

we had problems with keycards, and had to ask for the kettle and other items that were not provided.

Disappointing.

Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The Restaurant! It was not a typical Restaurant. It was set up like a wedding, very bizarre and therefore lacked atmosphere. The food was mediocre. At breakfast the staff kept getting the orders wrong and then snapping at each other The bar was understaffed. I ordered a cocktail and was told there was no menu. I found a menu and had to call the bar staff over then I was told they don't serve cocktails after 9pm! Again bizarre that's usually when people want to eat cocktails.

Staff were very friendly and helpful . Especially the girl doing breakfast in the mornings.had a good night's sleep too .

Thought the portions of our meals were small for the price . Plus our room was very small and a few cobweb's hanging from the ceiling in the bedroom and the bathroom .
