We had a great time at the Hickory Ridge Hideaway.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL HOME TO HAVE A LARGE FAMILY VACATION. THERE WERE PLENTY ENOUGH BEDS AND ROOM FOR ALL OF US TO SLEEP. WE HAD A PONTOON BOAT AND A SKI BOAT BOTH FIT PERFECTLY AT THE DOCK, THE PRIVATE BIOAT LAUNCH WAS A BIG PLUS FOR US. THE DECK WAS PLENTY BIG ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE TO SIT TALK AND ENJOY, THERE WERE FANS ON THE DECK TO HELP WITH THE HEAT A FIRE PIT WITH PLENTY OF ROOM FOR ALL OF US, AND A LARGE BACK PORCH WITH A LARGE FAN. OVERALL THIS IS A WONDERFUL PLACE TO VACATION. WE WILL MAKE THIS A YEARLY VACATION SPOT. THE LAKE WAS NOT OVERCROWDED EITHER.
ONLY TWO THINGS ARE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR CLEANING SUPPLIES BECAUSE THERE ARE NONE PROVIDED AND MAKE SURE YOU BRING FANS BECAUSE THE AC CAN NOT KEEP UP DURING THE DAY. ONCE THE SUN GOES DOWN IT GETS BETTER, ALL THE BEAUTIFUL WINDOWS IN THIS HOME BRING IN SOME HEAT.

My family had a great stay. We had a small issue but owner and property manager were quick to respond. The back porch and the bunk room were a huge bonus since we had rainy weather during our stay. The property was the perfect fit and we would definitely consider staying again.

We had an amazing stay! From the early check-in, amazing breeze, and every size pot imaginable this place was perfect!

The property was very clean and newly remodeled, this is our 4th time to bust this property’ and will be back next year if not sooner, it has everything you need to fill at home….

Hickory Ridge hideaway was the perfect place for our families 4th of July getaway (6 adults and 7 children). It was very clean. The bunk/game room was a hit for the kids. The location is perfectly placed, right on the mid lake area. Only 5 minutes to the grocery and bait store. The best part was the boat dock and the seating area over the water. The kitchen and dining areas were sufficient with plenty of space. Also the back deck was perfect to sit and relax with a nice cooling fan through an afternoon thunderstorm.
I give this place a 9.5/10. The only complaint we had was how warm it was inside at night with the a/c struggling with the July heat but box fans helped until the unit was able to catch up. I would recomend this place to anyone especially families with kids.

Yes the property has been remodeled. But frustrating because you can't see the small stuff online and in the end the fancy new bathroom doesn't matter!!!!!!
As you enter the front door the front area was full of dirt. I immediately swept so that we didn't bring it in the house. It was quite warm in the house. It took a long time to cool off, usually by the morning it was cool. Thank goodness they had box fans hanging around. Yes, they had a pool table but not all the balls - go figure. The grass needed to be cut and the dock was old and dirty - a little pressure washing would have helped. broken boards on pier. there were chimney swifts in the chimney- a bit noisey at times. Some of the rooms could use a good dusting. One bedroom needs a new bed!! The squeaking as you roll over was quite loud. Dirty dirty ac filter. No glasses to drink out of just coffee mugs and a few cheap plastic wine glasses. The master bathroom is an add on and no ventilation or a/c vents. It is a hot box. I hate to say lipstick on a pig but truly, if you are going to spend the money to fix it up inside maybe do so on the outside as well. It is a lake house, you want to be outside.Looked like no one cares and although hot, we came for the lake and to be outside. SO. somewhat disappointing and very confused now that I have read all the reviews. Not sure about the 10/10 and excellent. Makes me wonder about authenticity.

Property was recently renovated very clean. Nice up-to-date. It was a very chilly weekend, so really just chilled inside, our son and daughter in law braved the chilly weather and tried to fish off boat house, but no luck. We truly enjoyed the view. Definitely plan on
going back late spring early summer. Would love to take grandchildren there.

Pictures aren’t what appears in person. Place was not clean. There was holes in walls. Poor insulation in place due to not cooling off the whole house well. We was there for 4 hours and stayed at 78-80. Game room was a hot box. Owner was ugly about me calling to complain about how hot it was. And asked if I could wait 45 more min to call an AC man since it would cost her $250 to send someone out there. Didn’t want to chance that so I ended up staying somewhere else since I had two newborns that was staying in there. So we left and I would like my refund back since we didn’t stay there.

The cabin is big and can accomodate large family. The location on lake is good and dock is nice. The grass had not been cut and there was trash in the yard. The inside had not been dusted is a very long time. Very thick dust on everything. Sticky kitchen floor. Dead crickets on deck, cigarette butts not emptied on porch, filthy bbq putts. It really needs a good cleaning top to bottom, inside and out!! Beds had clean sheets!!! We go to the lake often and would stay here if it were cleaned up!

As in other reviews the sliding glass door is hard to use but if you put it back on the track it works easier. There is a fireplace that was used previous to our stay so the ashes bothered us each time the heat or ac came on. We had allergies the whole time we were there but If it is summer or you do not get stuffy easy you will have no problem. There are 2 bedrooms with baths, another bath right across the hall from a queen room and a bathroom in the game room so there are plenty. Lots of dishes in the kitchen and great water pressure. Enough parking for guest. Large trash box outside that's easy to use. The back porch has plenty of seating. The dock and swing were great. There were spider webs as in previous reviews but It did not bother us they are on the ceiling. There were dead ants in the house so that problem was taken care of. We had plenty of room in the back yard to play cornhole and badminton. Close to toledo town. Neighbors are close but did not bother us. Great rental if you need lots of space

We enjoyed everything EXCEPT the sugar ants which I was just fine UNTIL I woke up to see MY pillow & sheets were covered with ants. My poor lil dog (Sophie got fussed @ for being so fidgety which I NOW feel BAD NOW that I know WHY

Launched all 3 boats with the private boat launch at the property and really enjoyed our weekend.

Close to Toledo Town, the property was very much outdated but it worked for what we used it for. Be careful on the back steps, very steep, spider webs all over the back deck. The pier on the water could use a serious pressure wash. The webs were everywhere; I can expect a little from the lake but you had to wipe off all furniture before using. Enjoyed the lounging around. Will stay there again...

Good place to stay
Enjoyed our stay. Kids loved pool table, and we loved that they had their own personal space to sleep and play.

OK stay
My kids really wanted to play pool but since the table had no bumpers, or edges they really could not. This was a selling point on the home. The sliding glass doors did not really work properly. Nothing was stated that the road to the home was a dirt road. the steps going down to the yard, need to be filled in because it is a very long step down and one of the kids slipped and fell down and scraped their shins. the home needs some updating. I come to the lake 3-4 times a year, this was not the worst of my stays but not my best.

Comfortable, clean and relaxing place.
Plenty of room, nice location and view. Only complaint is that the add-ons in the doorways need to be corrected, because it is not safe. Also the sliding doors in the living room are very hard to open and close. Other than that we had an awesome time.

Toledo Bend
Property had spider webs and dust everywhere. Blinds on windows were filthy. Pictures are very old and need to be retaken to current camp conditions. They are very deceiving and misrepresented. The back yard and dock area were nice and spacious, however, we will not rent this camp again.

A great place for family fun!
My family highly enjoyed this rental! The house is very spacious and accommodating for a large family. We loved being able to launch our boats on the property and fish off the private dock. It had great views and a nice breeze! We had a great time cooking and playing cornhole! I will definitely be booking this property again!

Great For Family
We really enjoyed all the rooms and bathrooms for adults. The kids had a blast in the game room. They also liked swimming in the lake. The community water went out due to a thunder storm, but we were brought bottles of water and the property manager was very helpful. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing spot away from others on Toledo Bend.

We had a great family vacation. We take one every summer and this was one of our favorites.
It was very easy to rent through the website. We needed to rent for a large group and this location allowed for that. We enjoyed swimming, boating, fishing, roasting smores in the fireplace, barbecuing, riding bikes and side by side, using floats we purchased, playing volleyball in the large yard between the house and the boathouse, and just sitting looking at the view and visiting on the large back porch and boathouse. I would definitely recommend it because of its location and easy access to stores for food and supplies.

Weekend away with friends.
The property was very clean and had been updated with new paint, a roof on the porch and a great dock on the water since my last stay several years ago, The property manager was very friendly and easy to get in touch with. It is a property I would definitely stay at again!
