About this house rental
Our home is oceanfront in Carolina Beach, North Carolina. It is an older style cottage built in the 1940's and we added a third floor and renovated in 2003. Complete renovation in spring 2020.
There are great views with beautiful porches and decks overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. In the Spring of 2008, the ground floor was added to the rental making it a full house rental. Full kitchen was renovated on middle floor in 2011 with dishwasher and garbage disposal. All new appliances in 2020. Two master suites with mini fridge and coffee/tea bar in one. Bathrooms in the old part of the cottage were renovated with new tile showers in 2016.
The ground floor does have a separate entrance into a game room with a pool table. We recently added a spiral staircase leading to the middle floor. This floor has one queen bedroom and full bath. A theater room is located on the ground floor with a big screen smart TV, popcorn machine and fridge. A new front loading washer and dryer were added to this floor in 2020. There is a queen air mattress that can be used in the theater room to sleep 2 children.
The middle floor has a full kitchen and family room with a recently renovated open floor plan, one queen bedroom, and one full bathroom. The living area has a smart tv and a game/puzzle table and sectional sofa. The dining area has a large table with seating for 8-10., and additional bar seating for two. The kitchen is fully stocked and offers a large pantry area and adequate workspace. There is a wonderful open porch with rockers and a table/chairs for eating or playing games. There are two outdoor showers; an open shower on the walkway from the beach to rinse off sand, and a closed hot and cold shower to enjoy your daily shower.
The top floor has two large oceanfront King master suites with private baths. Each bedroom opens onto the top porch with a porch swing and loungers. You DO have to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the interior stairs. There are exterior stairs off the porch as well.
The house will sleep 8 people in beds and two more on an air mattress.
This house is located on the north end of Carolina Beach, a quieter and more relaxing part of the beach. The Boardwalk, fishing pier and charter boats are all within walking distance. Enjoy the many restaurants, kid's activities, and just strolling on the beach! Bike, chair, umbrella and boat rentals are all within one mile of the house. There is a private deck and walkway to the beach, a brick grill and fireplace to cook out, and everything you need to have a wonderful relaxing vacation! There are free summer concerts each month, Sunday night family movies at the lake, Thursday night fireworks, as well as a wonderful Seafood Blues and Jazz Festival in October.
The NC Aquarium is a short drive as well as the USS NC Battleship Memorial and historic Wilmington! You can take a beautiful 30 minute ferry ride from Fort Fisher, just a few miles away, to Southport, another historic and beautiful town on the water. There are wonderful restaurants and antique shops in historic Southport. Come and enjoy our wonderful vacation home! We vacation there too, so you can count on it being well kept!

This was a great place to have a getaway with friends from all over the country. It was walking distance to the pier for food, drinks, ice cream and views yet not commercialized to have traffic. House was great and hosts were easy to rent from. Easy walk out to the beach and lots of amenities that helped make a great vacation for us. 100% recommend to those looking for a place to gather to make fun memories at the beach.

The house was great right on the beach. We just so happened to be there when tropical storm Debbie hit. Even with all the wind and rain we got it was still a great trip. We would definitely stay at this house again.

Our family enjoyed staying at Mimi’s Cottage. We had 9 all together, 6 adults and 3 under 5, so we had plenty of room. There were special amenities when we arrived. Just a short walk away to the beach. Convenient to grocery stores, the Boardwalk & restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay at Mimi's cottage and haved loved the Carolina Beach area. This was our first time coming this far south for a beach vacation and I'm pretty sure we'll be back. We lucked out with amazing weather so got a bunch of beach time in. We took a trip to the aquarium at Ft. Fisher and were pleasantly impressed. Would definitely. recommend checking it out as both kids and the adults enjoyed it. Wake & Bake Donuts were delicious (Didn't get to Britt's with their off season hours) as was Seawiten Cafe & Tiki Bar. Not only did we enjoy the sand, waves, and short walk to the beach, we made popcorn watched a movie in the theater and the grown ups loved playing some pool. We hope to be back again next year! The photos and listing information are all accurate and gave us a good idea if what to expect. Having the linens, towels, and kitchen stocked were immensely helpful. We were so excited to see the beach items provided for us we well, plenty of beach chairs, toys, a couple boogie boards, and some fishing poles even.

I can't say enough good things about our trip and this awesome property. Everything was as advertised or better. It was clean, comfortable and fun. Parking was convenient and packing in and out was a breeze. The owner took every opportunity to make sure we were happy. I look forward to staying at Mimi's Cottage again!

Great location right on the beach! Plenty of room for the entire family. We enjoyed sitting on the porches watching the waves roll in and taking just a few steps to the beach to watch the sun rise each morning. We are already looking forward to saying here again next year!

This oceanfront home has been upgraded to accommodate visitors that want to enjoy a beach vacation with plenty of room. The host is the best, and truly cares about your stay. The pool table came in handy with Ian hitting us and the calm after the storm was the best! We truly enjoyed the stay, location and serenity of the environment. We will stay here again.

The house was big enough for three generations of my family and four distinct family groups. It was A very hot and windy week, but the porches were nice to sit and enjoy each other. We did see some bugs when we first moved in but Kelly was very responsive and had a person come and spray quickly. Thanks Kelly for your attentiveness.

Better than anticipated
This place was more than we needed, but could not pass on the price so we were a little unsure of what to expect. Exceeded our expectations. The view was amazing, We used the grill almost every day and enjoyed meals on the deck listening to the waves. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing week on the beach.

Perfect Beach Home!
Everything was great! Kelly called to check in on us on our first evening. The house is spacious with plenty of space for everyone. The property is well maintained and very clean. My teen boys loved the pool table and the popcorn popper was also a big hit. We were steps from the beach and it was perfect because it wasn't crowded. There are several nice restaurants close by. I hope we can come back to the cottage again!

Perfect beach house
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beach cottage. It was as described, but even better in person. It was so clean and communication with the home owner was excellent. The beach cottage is located about a mile from restaurants and shops. We loved the quiet setting and private beach access. We will definitely stay again.

Awesome Getaway
This beach house is wonderful! It was actually much roomier than I was expecting. We had plenty of room to prepare and enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner. (Clean up your food and kitchen as per the listing. This is on the beach and has a ground floor, so bugs do get in. I am not observant, and only saw 1 during our stay, but my husband and mother-in-law noticed a few more. The receipt from the last spray was in the house and was right before our visit.) My in-laws had the ground floor so they could choose or choose not to do steps, our 18 year old took the main floor bedroom, our 8 and 4 year old took the second master, and my husband and I took the master. Plenty of bathrooms! Sunrise off the top porch is phenomenal! The heated outdoor shower was perfect for our 8 and 4 year old to take a nightly shower instead of coming in sand-covered from the beach. We have never been to the beach in the off season before, but it was quite enjoyable. Kids played on the sand in swimsuits and just put on sweatshirts when they got cold. Husband fished from the shore, but mostly just caught those fish that puff up when they're scared. You could dip your toes in, and the kids liked that, but too cold for grownups. And the highlight was the dolphins...so many dolphins every day! The one day there were 3 dolphins that played right in from of the condo for about an hour! We had an awesome time! I wouldn't hesitate to come back again!

Fantastic location and home
My family and I stayed for the weekend to celebrate my 50th birthday. It was perfect. The some of us who wanted to relax were able to and the 20 somethings had close access to the boardwalk night life. The best of both worlds. And waking up to that beautiful view on the balcony swing was breathtaking.. Thank you for sharing your home with us. ❤

This house was great for our size! Each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The house was conveniently located. It was easy to get to the beach. I wish we could have stayed longer to use all the extras provided.

Beach house…expected a little more
The home was located in a quiet area, right on the beach, convenient to restaurants, bars and shopping. The upper porch was perfect to see the beautiful sunrises every morning. We really had no complaints about this home except the kitchen was not fully stocked as the owner described, i.e. no teapot or even a small pot to boil water. The pots in the kitchen were very worn and severely scratched on the surface. We found those to be unusable. The kitchen oven mitts were not cleaned and there was open food boxes left in the pantry that we had to throw away. The refrigerator shelf bars on the door kept falling off and the food kept falling on the floor when you opened the door. The third floor master bedroom had sand on the floor when we arrived. Shower door and shower liner really need to be scrubbed or replaced due to mildew. Needless to say we did not find the home to be as clean as we would have liked, especially when you pay a high cleaning fee. The owner did leave a number on the fridge to call the cleaners if there was an issue. However, we felt we should not have encountered these issues upon our arrival.

We had a wonderful stay! We were there with our adult children and our grandchildren, ages 1 and 3. The house felt perfect with the layout as you had some privacy but could all be together. The beach was not crowded and very nice. This was our first time renting and Kelly was great. Would love to come again!

Fun family vacation at Carolina Beach
Really nice house. Very close to the beach which made it easy on my parents who are 64 and 70. Cleanliness was good. Had an issue with the smoke detectors going off randomly but let Karen know and she had the issue fixed in no time. Would recommend to friends.
