About this apartment rental

Rare top floor ocean/lake view luxury condominium located in the center of Pleasure Island. Very spacious and comfortable at over 2000 sq feet. Upscale throughout. 4 bedroom, 3.5 baths. Sleeps up to 10. The top floor has a Queen master suite with a flat screen tv, a private master bath, half bath, gourmet kitchen, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, wine/coffee bar, dining/living room, large flat screen tv, beautiful furnishings with custom lighting, and a ocean view balcony with incredible ocean views. The lower floor has 2 tastefully decorated queen bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds. 2 full baths are located on this level as well. 2 of the 3 bedrooms have flat screen tvs. There is a lake view balcony off the rear bedroom. Upon request, a linen/towel package can be ordered and set up prior to your arrival (a linen/towel package fee applies). Separate heating and cooling zones. Private garage with elevator that services each floor. Located on a semi private street across from the ocean. Just a few steps to the beach access. Take a short stroll to the boardwalk and enjoy the thrill rides, listen to live music at the pavilion, grab a slice of pizza, have a Britt's donut (rated #2 donut shop in the nation), chocolate-covered strawberries from the Fudgeboat, and watch the fireworks at dark. Highly rated restaurants preparing some of the finest seafood on the east coast are just minutes away. Or just stay in and view the fireworks from your ocean-side balcony. If being on the beach all day isn't enough, walk across the street to the lake and rent a paddle boat, let the kid's play on the playground, or sit at one of the gazebos located on the water. Take a ride down to Ft. Fisher and walk through the civil war museum (look for info on the Ft. Fisher Hermit) or go to the NC Aquarium at Ft. Fisher. The live oaks at Ft. Fisher is a perfect back drop for photos. Or go sea shell collecting here. Water sports are in abundance nearby with charter fishing, jet ski rental, surfing lessons, and sea kayaking. Challenging golf courses are only a few miles away. Whether it is sunbathing on the beach, renting scooters or a golf cart and sight seeing, or watching a free outdoor movie on Sunday nights at the Lake (located just across the road), there is lots to do on Pleasure Island and this condo is right in the middle of it all.

We highly recommend Big Blue! The condo was even bigger than we thought it would be. It was well equipped, clean and the elevator was a terrific plus. The beach access is very close. The beach is clean and there is a lifeguard. Roger, the host, was very responsive to all of my questions. He provided good directions and info about activities and restaurants on the island. All 6 of us agreed we would love to return to Big Blue if we can.

The house had everything a family spanning three generations could need. Recommend your buy the linen package for one less item to tote from home. Be aware the package is for the bedrooms and doesn't cover the fold out sleeper in the living room. Also if you need more than one towel per person bring extra. Highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful time at Big Blue this year. There was room for everyone, and the location was perfect! Roger was great in helping us prepare for our arrival. This beautiful home has everything you need to enjoy a wonderful week at the beach. We never got in our car after arrival. Thank you Roger for sharing your home! We look forward to visiting again!

I can't say enough good things about Big Blue! We stayed for a week and we had a blast. The condo comes well-stocked with everything you need. We did get the add-on linen package so that we didn't have to bring sheets. So that was helpful. But otherwise, the owner provided additional beach chairs and boogie boards in the garage. The kutchen came fully stocked. And the elevator was a huge convenience for our elderly family who have trouble going up and down stairs. We left already thinking about how we could rent Big Blue for next year!

This house was perfect for everything for a 6 person friend trip. Beautiful views of the ocean. Beach access right across the street. Walkable to everything you could possibly need - restaurants, bars, shopping. Roger was very nice and informative for everything we needed to know about the house. We didn’t use the elevator for ourselves, but it was awesome for loading in groceries and luggage. 10/10 would book again!

The house was perfect for my family. Lots of space and very clean! Very close to the beach entrance. Easy walk to the shops, restaurants, and to boardwalk. Nice ocean view from the balcony. Roger was responsive when we needed him and informative! Check in was super easy!

Amazing Place!!

We loved this property - clean, modern, loaded with amenities and right in the middle of the action. We had 5 people and had more than enough space to spread out and to gather. The view from the deck was perfect, and many things (including the beach and restaurants) were within walking distance. Parking was also easy. There were definitely lots of stairs, but it was worth the climb, and the freight elevator made transporting our stuff easy. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend it.

We loved our time staying at this property! The view of the ocean from the living room is absolutely amazing and we spent lots of time out on that porch. The property had anything you would need for a fun day at the beach (chairs, beach toys, boogie boards). The stairs to get to the property were definitely a good workout, but absolutely worth it when you see the views!

We had a wonderful time. Roger was great! The location is great, great view of the ocean. Very clean, beautiful house. Would love to stay again next year. Only complaint would be the elevator was not working. I was told about it and was comped for the linens which was great! I think my legs have many more muscles from walking the stairs. Good for us all. Thank you so much Roger!

We had family come in from Kentucky, Nevada, and Western North Carolina and comfortably slept 10. The location was across the street from the beach and 3 blocks from the Boardwalk. Communication with the owner was outstanding. We will definitely look into staying there again on our next trip to Carolina Beach.

This our fourth year staying at “Blue” and once again we had a great stay. The property is so convenient to the beach, the boardwalk and most importantly, Britts Donuts. Roger is a great host and is so helpful and attentive to any request that may arise during your stay. Property is always clean and stocked just right with all the necessities. We had a fantastic weekend at the beach. The property was roomy enough for two families with two children each. It was very clean and well appointed. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed. With young kids, the laundry was clutch. The balconies are fantastic and the houses in front are low builds that leave you with great water views. Road in front is quiet.. Beach access is just 1 or 2 houses down and the boardwalk is an easy walk. The location is fantastic.

This is a wonderful property! It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Our family needed a properly with 3 queen beds, not easy to find! The kitchen was well equipped so that cooking was possible. In this time of COVID we did not want to go to restaurants. The view of the ocean is wonderful and we were treated to weather in the 60’s for several days of this Christmas holiday.

The condo has a terrific view of the beach from 2 balconies and a view of the lake from the back balcony. Carolina Beach is a wonderful family getaway with warm water that's perfect for wading and swimming. The condo is beautifully decorated and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Exceeded our expectations!

We were looking for a nice place to get away in a relaxed and laid back area that we hadn’t been to before. Carolina Beach and Big Blue met those requirements and then some! The home was beautiful and very comfortable for all of us. There were lots of things within walking distance including the beach, the board walk, A few small shops, several restaurants, ice cream and donuts! The view of the beach and ocean from the front balcony was spectacular and we enjoyed the sunrises and the moon’s reflection on the water. The owner was extremely responsive and made sure we had everything we needed, and we had no trouble at all getting in. There definitely are a lot of stairs but that extra exercise just gave us an excuse to eat more ice cream from Squiggley’s, the 8th best ice cream shop in the country! And we survived Hurricane Isaias thanks to a sturdy structure! We really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to go back again!
