About this house rental
Russ’ Roost is a recently remodeled lakefront home offering magnificent views of Honeoye Lake and surrounding area. Located on the southwest shore of Honeoye Lake, this modern 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home has 2,200 square feet of living space on one floor, with plenty of space for a family getaway or a gathering of friends.
The home has an inviting open concept living room, dining and kitchen area, with plenty of windows offering amazing views over the lake. Our dining table has seating for at least 6, and the kitchen bar seats 4. The connected living area comfortably seats 5 on a new sofa and chairs, as well as a large tv and gas fireplace. There is a wall-of-windows Florida room with stunning views of the lake and a second gas fireplace, along with plenty of seating. The 3 bedrooms sleep 6 (master has king bed, while other 2 bedrooms have full-sized beds), with a queen sofa-sleeper for 2 additional guests in the living room.
The level yard and large back deck open to 90 feet of direct access to Honeoye Lake, and the attached deck has plenty of seating and is fenced & gated, which is great for our younger guests. The large yard has lots of space for games, and a stamped concrete walkway from the house leads to a patio not far from a wood-burning fire pit perfect for night-time relaxation or marshmallow roasting.
Russ’ Roost includes a seasonal dock that allows space to sunbathe, fish, or load and unload passengers from boats, kayaks, canoes, or jet skis. Boat rental is available nearby. The shallow water and ability to walk in from the shore makes this a great property for families.
There is parking in the driveway and also an attached garage with parking for one vehicle. The home includes full kitchen with all necessary items (glassware, dishes, cooking/baking & utensils, etc.) as well as linens (sheets and towels), laundry room, and WiFi. All televisions are connected for Nexflix or Amazon users (along with other internet video), and two of our rooms have DVD players available. *Please note that the tvs do not have cable or local network television.*
Check in is after 3:30 p.m. and check out is at 10:00 a.m.

We are located less than 10 miles from Hunt Hollow Ski Club and 15 miles from Bristol Ski Resort. We’re also within a 30-minute drive to 3 public golf courses (Lima Country Club, Parkview Fairways Golf Course and CenterPoint Golf Club). This location also makes it convenient to many restaurants, wineries, shopping, hiking and much more. The house is about 45 minutes from the Rochester Greater International Airport.
Please note that we have outside cameras by the garage that do not record and are not monitored, but are there so we can be aware of activity while no one is staying at the home. We also have motion sensors in the home as part of a security system (which is off during rental stays) and have a "smart hub" with remote sensors to monitor water leaks and prevent pipes from freezing. We respectfully request you do not disconnect this hub, as it is vital for us to maintain the home when no one is there and be notified of emergencies. We do not adjust or monitor anything while renters are present unless you notify us of a problem.

This home was perfect for our recent friends weekend. It was very clean and extremely well stocked from the kitchen to the linens. It was spacious and cozy, the property owners communication was exceptional and we would love to retuen again next year.

The house and property are lovely. Very comfortable.
I've rented many properties and this one had the best stocked kichen yet! It was nice to see items in the fridge, freezer and pantry that were left behind by others. So many properties want you to leave the place completely empty. We didn't need them, but found spices, flour, sugar, olive oil...all nice surprises (including ice cream and freezer pops!). Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, cooking utensils - you name it, we found it!
Beds were comfy, there were extra blankets and bathroom towels available. The house really felt like a home.
I reached out to the owner several times while at this property and she was quick to respond - very nice to deal with.
The only downside (for us) was that the lake wasn't good for swimming. As a few other reviewers have mentioned, there's quite a bit of seaweed along the shoreline which we didn't find inviting.
All in all, we had a great Labor Day weekend here.

The house was beautiful with plenty of room and an extremely well stocked kitchen. We loved the sun room, the deck, the fire pit and the dock. Our only non-positive comment is we wish we knew that the condition of the water did not encourage swimming as we are jump off the dock kind of people. We would stay again, especially over a holiday.

Everything was correct as listed. Nice place right on the lake. Watched the sun come up every morning. Easy to get to. Only complaint I had was one someone else described in the reviews and that was the barking dog next door. We realize this isn't the owner's fault. Stay here if you can, you won't regret it.

The property and location were exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful, updated home (although the kitchen floor needs a good wiping down). You can spend a quiet day by the lake outside the home or take a drive to visit other nearby attractions. The county park, about a 20-minute drive away, is a gem. Will definitely book this house again when visiting the Finger Lakes area!

Spent a long weekend at this lovely lake front home with our daughter, son-in-law and their 3 year old and 9 month old sons. With the weather in the 90s and humid, the beautiful shade trees in the yard, the lovely lake and the efficient air conditioning in the house, made for a perfect weekend. Everything in the house was spotless when we arrived with plenty of helpful information. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was stocked plenty of towels, linens etc. The backyard green space was perfect for lawn games and the 3 year could easily wade into the lake and toss stones to his hearts content. Lovely accomdations!!!

Great for a family; has a nice play area. Multiple gathering spots. Shore set up great for paddling and playing, but not swimming in the lake because of the weeds. There is a beach in town. The only drawback is a need for better reading lights in the sitting areas. Excellent technology though. Would definitly stay again.

Great for a family get away.
The house had everything you could imagine you might need for your stay. We traveled with 6 adults and 2 kids (age 2 and 3). Lots of room in the back yard to play, and the back room was nice for "being outside" when we wanted to get out of the sun.
No bathtub, so we just used a small inflatable pool for the kids inside the shower stall. Kitchen was fully equipped, there was a grill outside, more seating than you will ever need. Good fishing off the dock. Would definitely stay again if we were to go back to the area!

This property is beautiful and excellent for small children as they can get into the water easily and there is also a great, flat grassy area to play on by the lake. House is very well equipped and nicely kept. Can't say enough about this place except excellent all around!

Sister Cousin Getaway
This trip was booked for our Sister Cousin getaway and we could not have been happier. We had an awesome time reconnecting with one another and the property made that easy to do. Enough space for all 6 of us. We played games, drank wine, watched movies, talked by the fireplace, enjoyed the view, cooked in the amazing kitchen, experienced tons of snow and took advantage of the local gems so close to the property. Everything was in order as listed and the owner was extremely helpful and responsive. I’m talking within 10 minutes. I definitely would recommend it his place.

Great house
The home was wonderfully remodeled and well equipped. My kids loved the sunroom. They had their own area, while my wife and I enjoyed some quiet time in the living room.
Ample parking, especially for a lakefront home in the Finger Lakes region. Easy parking for anyone with a boat.
The only detractor of the weekend, of which the owners have no control, is the sorry state of the lake. I didn't bother to launch my boat due to the algae.

This property was very pretty with gorgeous views of the lake. Recently, five friends and myself rented this place and we had a great time. The living area was plenty big with a huge 65 inch TV which we enjoyed playing video games and watching TV on. We really liked the open design of the kitchen, living room, and dining room and we spent many nights cooking and eating there. Finally, the view of the lake was just stunning and especially from the four season room! I had forgotten how beautiful the finger lakes are. On top of viewing the lake, we used the outside space to play kanjam, spikeball, and have bonfires. There was plenty of room for all of those activities. It’s rare to find that much outdoor space at a lake house!
There were only two major drawbacks of the property. Firstly, there is no dishwasher. This is a bummer when primarily cooking and eating in. Obviously not the end of the world, but a bummer. Secondly, the beds only comfortably sleep 4 full grown adults. There is a king bed in the master bedroom and what seems to be double beds in the other two rooms. The group I was in had six men in their twenties which meant that two of them had to sleep somewhere else. We ended up bringing an air mattress and sleeping on a couch.
If a dishwasher and some bigger beds were added this would be the perfect property!

Phenomenal Property with only Two Drawbacks
This property was very pretty with gorgeous views of the lake. Recently, five friends and myself rented this place and we had a great time. The living area was plenty big with a huge 65 inch TV which we enjoyed playing video games and watching TV on. We really liked the open design of the kitchen, living room, and dining room and we spent many nights cooking and eating there. Finally, the view of the lake was just stunning and especially from the four season room! I had forgotten how beautiful the finger lakes are. On top of viewing the lake, we used the outside space to play kanjam, spikeball, and have bonfires. There was plenty of room for all of those activities. It’s rare to find that much outdoor space at a lake house!

This place is beautiful and just as the pictures show. Everything you could need is provided. Stony “beach” area is great for kids and it goes right into shallow water. Would love to have stayed longer.

Much Needed Ski Getaway
We loved staying at this property! Everything was super clean and organized. Our kids loved hanging out in the back room and playing in the snow. The house is located close to Bristol Mt. We hope to stay here again this summer to enjoy the lake.

The home was immaculate and spotless upon check in. Everything you could want or need was there. Unlike some places I've stayed on VRBO, the home has thoughtful instructions on how to find and operate everything. And the location right on the lake is beautiful. Granted this was winter....but we ice fished and the lake is right outside the door. All of the linens and bedrooms were top of the line, beds very comfortable and the shower in the master bedroom is wonderful Two shower heads and multiple other body level shower heads......it was hard to shut the water off and get out of the shower. And....the location is a short drive to Naples where there are stores, banks, a grocery and the wonderful Roots Cafe. There are some services closer in Honeoye, but being winter the options were limited.Highly recommend.

The view is amazing, every room is comfortable, the sunroom is amazing even in winter, it’s warm and inviting. Everything was very clean (and I’m fussy!!) It was just the recharge we needed. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. There was plenty on tv, but we had to learn how to livestream bc well... Buffalo Bills are in the playoffs!! #billsmafia. We thank the hosts for a wonderful weekend, would definitely recommend and will be back for sure.
