Large typically Berlin apartment in convenient area. Lovely shops nearby.
8.0 / 10.0
Location good, close to both U and S bahn stops. Local area nice. Close to a very major road, so if you are sensitive to night noise I would avoid. Up 2 flights of stairs. Large, airy apartment, beds very comfortable. Clean and decent kitchen. No sofa, just a futon and some old armchairs - for the price I think there should be a sofa for those of us who have kids and need to stay in of an evening. Shabby and worn out dining room chairs need replaced. Apartment is good but the owner needs to spend a bit to sort out the seating issues and sort out the minor things like the spa part of bath doesn't work, ripped painting on wall, no way to control the heating. Didn't hear any noise from neighbours, lots of sirens at night due to location. If you aren't staying in of an evening so you don't care about the lack of sofa and knackered dining chairs then I would recommend it. Good communication with the management company.

The apartment is situated very near public transport, grocery stores and a park. Situated on the second floor of an ‘old’ apartment building. There are three main rooms.
Two with double beds, that are 180x200 cm and two sleeping sofa’s (1 double, 1 single). All beds are very comfortable.
The apartment has some grandeur with the ceilings, paneled doors, wooden floors and large windows.
Like other former guests mentioned in their reviews, some things in the apartment need an upgrade. Like the dining room chairs, the carpet and some other chairs. The curtains in the living room don’t fit very well. The painting on the wall has a hole in it. This could easily be replaced. It has been mentioned before by other guests, a while ago, but nothing has been done about that obviously.
The kitchen is fine. Although the oven hasn’t got a rack to put an oven dish on. So we had to put the dish on the bottom of the oven.
The bathroom is very good. Although like a lot of guests we didn’t use the bath. The shower was great though.
Like others mentioned, the young children upstairs and their mother, make a lot of noise in the morning from 6.30 onwards. Lots of loud bangs and screaming.
The piano workshop on the ground floor starts lessons from 8 in the morning till about 8 in the evening and can also be heard. Amazing that the piano place hasn’t got sound proof walls.
All in all we enjoyed our stay though and we wouldn’t hesitate to book the apartment again.

First off, the staff here were very accommodating to all of our early requests. Then, upon arriving, we were met by a lovely person who gave us the lowdown, keys, and some neighborhood recommendations. The apartment was filled with light, there were more than enough linens, quite a lot of storage for clothes, the kitchen had plenty of dishes/etc, and the bathroom was quite modern and nice. We did not take advantage of the large soak-in tub, though. Also, there was plenty of privacy. As I was the teacher and had five students, we each had our own space. Great place, thank you!

My family and I stayed here for the month of December while I worked in Berlin. The location worked really well for us being close to the Sophie-Charlotten U station, close to several grocery stores (including an organic grocery right across the street) and also across the main road from a park with a playground which was wonderful for my two small children. Aside from the occasional emergency vehicles going by and the neighbor kids upstairs running around early in the morning, the flat with quite peaceful and quiet. The windows are large and even in the darkest month of the year we found the space to have plenty of natural light during the day. There are two flights of stairs to reach the flat (no elevator), but we were allowed to park our stroller in the foyer which was very convenient. The ceilings are very high, but if you are tall (my husband is 6’6”, watch out for the low doorway into the bathroom!

If you are older like us to climb 45 steps should be noted in discripition. It also faces a Main Street where public vehicles go through at least 2 times an hour until after mid nite. The good things is the apartment is large, 2 king beds but are not solid . There is a valley you can get stuck in. Kitchen nice bath nice bit whirlpool does not work. Good water pressure. If we were younger it might be good but being over 70 very difficult. Close to Ubans and food places.

Good location close to restaurants and transit. Upstairs neighbors (children) very loud in early morning but otherwise good.

Pleasant Apartment in Charlottenburg
My wife and I had a very pleasant two-month stay in this apartment while I taught a course at the Law School of the Free University. The apartment is quite large with comfortable beds and other furniture. We were able to use one of the two large bedrooms as an office. The appliances, internet and the large flat screen TV all worked well. Charlottenburg is one of the most attractive areas of Berlin, and the immediate neighborhood has supermarkets, many shops and restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. There is excellent nearby access to public transportation, including both the U-Bahn and the S-Bahn

Sehr empfehlenswert
Sehr komfortable und große Wohnung für min. 6 Personen geeignet.

Large Apartment in a lovely quiet location.
Great communication whilst booking and all questions answered before we travelled.
We were greeted by a lovely man, Johannes , who showed us where everything was and also sat with us and gave us the names of a few areas to visit for mesls etc.
The beds were large and super comfortable 😃 the sofa bed in the lounge area was really comfortable too with a nice thick mattress.
Plenty of coat hangers in the wadrobe too.
Large dining table to sit around.
Shower was nice & hot, didn't try the bath.
Location - a quiet area not far from the train station (make sure you come out of the train station by the BMW building as its alot quicker to the apartment.
Would definitely recommed staying here.
Thanks for a lovely stay & apologies for not having time to empty the bin before we left as we were running late for our flight !!
Sharon.

Nice, spacious apartment
We had a lovely stay in the apartment. They've made changes to decor since the pictures would taken. It would be nice if they were current. The flat is very spacious!!! Beds weren't too bad. Bathroom was fantastic (with few exceptions). Kitchen met all our needs and then some. Loved having a washer/dryer! Only because we're used to German washers was it fairly easy to figure out the washer/dryer combo. Oliver greeted us upon arrival. Gave us info on apt basics and local market info. We found local restaurants through Google. U-bahn is closest but still a 10-15 min walk. Good exercise and plan accordingly when going places. Lots of extra blankets and pillows. There no sneaking around the flat (lol). WiFi was SUPERB!!!
It's the little things that keep this from being 5 stars:
- 1 window in the bathroom doesn't have a privacy covering. Use the cover over the tub!!!
- No soap to wash hands in bathroom (and we all had to go when we 1st arrived). Next few guests will be good because we left the one we bought.
- Nothing in the shower for toiletries (soap, razor etc)
- Jets in tub didn't work
- A manual for the washer/dryer or basic directions for guests
- Curtains are so long they block the heaters at night.
- No bins to separate the recyclables
If we went back to Berlin, we wouldn't mind staying here again!

Great property and location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Berlin. The flat is very spacious, and is in a great location with easy access to public transport as well as several grocery stores and restaurants. My interactions with the host were handled most professionally and always in a timely manner. It was very easy to set up our arrival arrangements and we were provided with a good introduction to the apartment and its amenities upon our arrival. The flat was very clean and because of the large windows is very bright and airy. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped! While not a criticism, the one caution I would note for those individuals living in countries that consider the ground floor the first floor, the flat is actually up three flights of stairs. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and consider using it should we visit Berlin in the future.

Very good. Great kitchen also. Easy walk to enjoy Charlottenburg palace and gardens.

Very comfortable stay in Berlin
We were very happy in this apartment. It is quite large and for two of us and a small dog it was perfect. The kitchen is well-equipped. The location was great as it had so much around (restaurants, close to underground, etc.). My only suggestion is that some of the furnishings could have been little cleaner but we would stay in the apartment again without hesitation.

Spacious, well equipped apartment in convenient location
Our family of four stayed at this property for 3 nights in July 2018. The owner communicated with us in a timely manner and answered all of our questions before we arrived. When we got there we were met by a cleaner who explained all we needed to know about the apartment. We found the property as described: spacious, clean and comfortable, and with everything we needed. Easy to find and in a safe neighborhood with both a health food and regular grocery store close by, we walked to the S-Bahn, U-Bahn and a lovely park within minutes. Due to extreme weather conditions this summer, the only thing missing in the apartment was some sort of cooling system or fans, as it was very hot. I'm sure that at other times of the year, as well as during a normal summer, it would have felt perfect.

Lovely, spacious flat in great location
The flat is one of the nicest we’ve stayed in. Large, comfortable rooms, good kitchen, very nice bathroom with shower and tub. Washer was very nice to have. We really enjoyed the nearby neighborhood, with Berliners going about their daily lives, and sharing restaurants and coffee shops with them. Very close to both U Bahn and S Bahn for going anywhere in Berlin. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you Marc and Oliver.

Spacious Berlin Apartment
My husband, 16-year-old son, and I stayed in this apartment recently. We enjoyed having so much space! The apartment has large rooms with doors on each room, and very high ceilings. There are two bedrooms with large beds and a sitting room/dining room in between. Two couples could easily share this apartment. There's also space in the sitting room for someone else to sleep on a fold out sofa, and because all the rooms have doors, it could be quite comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, and we ate in a couple of times. The kitchen also has a door, so if you're an early riser you can make coffee without disturbing anyone else. The apartment is quiet and warm. The U2 line is a 5 minute walk down the street and you can reach all the sights of Berlin on that line. There are three grocery stores in walking distance and a very charming little coffee place down the street. One note about transit: if you want to reach the apartment from the main train station (as we did) do your research beforehand so you know which trains to take. We found it very confusing.

Great spacious comfortable flat with easy access.
Great flat in easy position - five minutes from U-Bahn and S-Bahn. Good eateries nearby. Great access out to Potsdam and on the doorstep of Charlottenburg and the great Picasso art museum. Only missed the trams of the east side of city! Thank you.

Spacious, warm, well equipped apartment. Well connected to the U Bahn and S Bahn rail networks
Attractive apartment with all that is needed for a comfortable stay. There are well stocked supermarkets within two minutes. The U Bahn station is less than 5 minutes away and it is on the main U2 line taking you directly to all key sites (eg Olympiastadion going out of town, Potsdamer Platz, Kurfürstendamm and Alexanderplatz going into town). Rooms are sizeable. Kitchen well appointed. Only criticisms would be matters of detail eg jacuzzi function on double bath did not appear to work, however, we were not expecting a jacuzzi!
The heating is excellent the furnishings are of good quality, the internet works well. The curtains to the two bedrooms block out the light, however, the shutters in the middle room do not quite cover the impressive windows meaning that light comes in early in the morning. If this room’s futon is used as a bed it could wake up the incumbent, and the shutters could do with being improved.
All in all a great base for exploring the city.

Good location
The location had good access to the U and S Bahn. Shopping and restaurants were plentiful. Drawbacks were finding parking spaces after coming home in the evenings. The living room advertised as a 3rd bedroom had the drawback that the blinds could only be lowered halfway making the room bright as soon as the sun came up.

Berlin Palace
We absolutely loved this light, bright, spotlessly clean apartment where we stayed for 3 weeks! Extremely comfortable and well-appointed, it felt like our home. The location is fantastic with supermarkets within a block or two, the Ubann (subway) 3 blocks away and several wonderful neighborhood restaurants. The rooms are spacious with large windows, the beds are large and comfortable (American queen size), and the bathroom is quite large with plenty of hot water. The wi-fi works perfectly. Aside from an occasional siren or chirping bird, it is very quiet.
It is a short 10 or 15 minutes to the center of Berlin on the Ubann, and we never waited longer than 3 minutes for its arrival. After a day visiting museums, historical sites, etc., it was wonderful to come home to comfort, peace and quiet. Charlottenburg itself is a beautiful neighborhood with so much to explore and without the hoards of tourists in the city center.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat and will definitely book this apartment on our next trip to Berlin!

Great location, prefect for our family
First this apartment is very spacious - large rooms very high ceilings and a very well equipped kitchen. The only trouble is there are so many great places to eat out (Berlin is very affordable) that we hardly ever used it! Our favorite local restaurants were Kriti + Engelbecken. Brotgarten and Bernharts bakeries are excellent. We also loved the Bauermeister butcher shop - with great smoked meats, just like the ones I remember from when I was a kid visiting my grandparents. Glad they still exist! When we travel we like to experience the place as a local and this apartment was perfect place for that. This is a great neighborhood, close to transportation too. Our hosts were super responsive and made us feel very welcome. We felt at home the moment we arrived. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely apartment in great area
The apartment is airy and comfortable, and a great place to stay if you want to be a short way out of the bustle of the centre, in a peaceful but interesting neighbourhood. We found a street just round the corner ,Knopfeldorfstrasse, which had about 5 different restaurants of various nationalities, all with loads of vegitarian options and very good value. All popular with locals too.So it was relaxing to come back here to eat after a day sight seeing. Its also close to U bahn stop so not difficult to get to all areas. We realised a bit late on that there is a brilliant Art Gallery 10 minutes walk up towards the Palace with loads of Picassos, and Klee and Matisse etc. Don't get it confused with the one next door like we did though (which is fine but doesn't have Picassos)
Sclossstrasse is also a lovely street , wide, with a nice little bar for sitting outside.
The apartment as fine, roomy with big comfortable beds. Couldn't get the dishwasher tablet to stay in place, but that's probably us! A very good place to stay overall.

Excellent location; lovely, old apartment in great neighborhood
The apartment is an easy 5-minute (brisk) walk from the Sophie-Charlottenburg (U2) Bahn stop (on Kaiserdamm). It's large and airy and very well appointed. Nice kitchen with everything you need; large modern bathroom with excellent facilities (including a washer dryer combo that we couldn't figure out how to use--it would be nice to have instructions for use in English). There are two large bedrooms with queen-sized beds and a dining room/living room area with a comfortable, large futon. Everything was great, and the owner was lovely. Nice quiet building with lots of charm. The neighborhood is quiet, but off a main street (Kaiserdamm). It's walking distance to the Charlottenburg castle. There is a large, lovely park nearby with a lake. After a few days, we wandered more around the neighborhood (off the main street) and found many great restaurants and lovely local bakeries. There is an Italian restaurant on Kaiserdamm between the flat and the metro (Dal Moro) that is excellent, as well as two nice grocery stores. We found a wonderful local bakery (left out the front door, down 2 blocks and take a right--it's halfway down the block on the right). We also saw several restaurants in the same area that looked great--clearly local and not touristy at all. The neighborhood on the other side of Kaiserdamm is lovely and worth walking around--lots of pre-WW2 buildings and lovely apartments, as well as great dining and drinking options. There is an excellent traditional German restaurant (with a modern twist) named Engelbecken (http://www.engelbecken.de/en/), that is packed with locals. Reservations recommended. Also, we had two excellent Vietnamese meals at Bên Thânh (http://www.ben-thanh-berlin.xregional.de/), a 10-minute walk from the apartment--that neighborhood also was packed with lots of lively local restaurants offering a variety of cuisine. We would definitely stay here again if we go back, and we'd spend more time exploring the neighborhoods around that area. The U2 Bahn was a great resource, and we found it very easy to navigate around.

Warm and spacious apartment
We love Berlin, and this apartment was ideal - plenty of space and very close to the U2 line, so it was easy to get around the city. We visited in December, and found that the apartment was warm and comfortable, even when it was cold outside.
