About this house rental
Our family home is located at the quieter end of Canandaigua lake and yet is only a 15 minute drive from the City of Canandaigua and from Naples. This allows a combination of relaxation and activity to suit each guest: Canandaigua offers Roseland Water park and Wakeboard centre as well as historic sites and the Finger Lakes Wine and Culinary Centre whilst Naples is at the heart of the Grape tourist scene. A short drive provides access to wineries around Canandaigua and also around neighboring Keuka and Seneca lakes to the east. The Bristol Mountain aerial adventure course is a short drive to the western side of Canandaigua Lake and further west is the white water rafting centre in Letchworth State Park.
The house is maintained to a high standard because it is our family vacation home. Therefore it is only available for rent for 4-5 weeks per year. A wraparound deck allows you to enjoy the views and to move in or out of the sun as the day progresses. The house comprises four large bedrooms and three bathrooms. One King and two Queen bedrooms are on the second floor with the open plan kitchen/dining/living area and two bathrooms (one en suite); the kids' room is on the first floor with one bunk bed set (sleeps two) and one twin bed set plus the den/entertainment centre area and third bathroom. The plot is fairly level and allows access to main living area via two steps at rear and access to the permanent dock and boats by one step.
The 100 ft of flat lakefront is the best around. The lake is shallow within the confines of the dock area which is attractive to kids but deepens quickly from the edge of the dock. Water depth reaches three feet approximately 15 feet from shore, dropping off quickly to six feet at front corner of permanent dock and 20 feet at furthest point of dock. Good fishing can be had off the dock (subject to NY licence) and stories of 'the one that got away' abound by the lakeside camp fire. Wood is provided at the beachfront for the camp fire. Beachfront chairs are provided.
The wraparound porch allows the sunset to be enjoyed whilst dining outside; also enabling activity at the lake front to be observed. Sun or shade can be accessed throughout the day in the different seating areas on the deck. 'Lake toys' include a kayak and various inflatables/noodles. Boat whips allow mooring of renter's boats.
The house is located at South Lake Road, about 0.75 miles south of Vine Valley. The house is located across the road from the lake but there are no houses between our house and the lake. There is approximately 100 feet x 45 feet of beach between the road and the lakefront, and it is partly grassed and partly shale beach. The narrow road is a dead-end road with approximately 30 houses beyond ours and is used by walkers, runners, and cyclists.

We would definitely stay at this home again. This was a perfect place for our 3 generations of family members (70s down to 8 yrs old). We loved how well it was equipped, the easy walk out to the lake, and the amazing new dock which we used for our pontoon rental. The swimming was weed-free and great for our little ones and adults alike and we loved finishing each day with a lakeside campfire. The owners were exceedingly responsive - which was helpful when fluke severe storms knocked out power across much of the county/region - to help with our needs. The home felt much larger than the pictures showed. Great A/C and modern baths. Loved the wraparound deck and very comfy furniture. Thanks for a great stay

Lovely home with all of the amenities. Great for entertaining outdoors with plentiful seating and dining areas. Beautiful dock and swimming area suitable for young children. Peaceful, quiet setting. We hope to return!

This house was beautiful, and not your typical rental home. This house was a perfect fit for our group of 10! It was spotless and had everything you could want in a rental! The location was perfectly set between two bigger cities with plenty of family friendly activities. The fishing was not what we expected however it wasn't for lack of trying. I would definitely recommend renting this property. The hosts along with Ron were very happy to help and gave great advice! We look forward to returning in the future.

An ideal property for families! We enjoyed lots of bike rides and walks along the road given it wasn’t a busy street and the kids loved to be able to wade into the shore of the lake. The expansive deck and seating areas made for fun family dinners and great views. We had 2 boats and the dock was perfect for both to park. Certainly we weren’t used to a rental being so well stocked that we overpacked plenty for the kitchen given it had a lot of what we needed. Can’t wait to come back!

This was our second time staying here and our family loves this home! The beach is large and easily accessible from the house.

Best family getaway ever!
The entire family agreed that this was the best getaway we’ve had! And we also agreed that the accommodations and location of this property contributed greatly to a wonderful week. The property was nicer than the pictures showed and had everything we needed - the kids and grandkids had fun with the kayak and paddle boards! Plenty of room to spread out and we were able to eat out on the expansive deck every day. This property may be hard to get, but will be worth your shuffling your schedule to rent! Left an inexpensive but sentimental item behind but was promptly sent to us after a quick phone call - thanks Ron! Fantastic!

Beautiful home and a great location for a family vacation. Would highly recommend this lake home. Owners are very accommodating. Quiet spot on lake with good access to marinas and still close to town. We comfortably slept 10 people in the house.

This home was everything we could have wanted. Ideal location , great lake front access. Nice dock for fishing. The kids a great time in the water. Kayaks and paddle boards, plenty of life jackets available, in case you forgot yours. Will definitely do this again.
