We had a fabulous week! The house was awesome.

Wonderful location at fading property. Little recent investment in upkeep leaves rotting wood, peeling paint and broken, aging furniture throughout. We had a great stay but expected a more well kept property. Cockroaches in kitchen and master bathroom…it’s the south but should be controllable with better cleaning and upkeep.

Great house and location. Would suggest adding extra bed linens and cooking utensils but otherwise great!

great location, house is just in need of a deep cleaning and lots of deferred maintenance, pots pans etc are lacking, the location makes up for most of the issues , the previous reviews said much of the same

House was in a great location, short walk to the beach, shopping and restuarants.

We had 13 people here and everyone had space. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was a short trip to the grocery store. We were able to walk to the beach and walk to shops. We look forward to our next stay

This is our 4th time to Watercolor and 2nd time at this house and we love it. Cannot beat the location. Floor layout is awesome - lots of space and good separation for when kids want to be kids and adults need some quiet.
Property management company is great as they've been very responsive when we've needed to call to have something taken care of.
If I had any complaints, - or what would make this even better - there are two: One is that the kitchen needs some pots/saucepans. Lots of skillets and some cookie sheets but needed a couple of 2qt saucepans when prepping dinner.
The second is that we could not find the instructions for the TV and remote. We figured it all out last year but unable to this year. Because the living room was a smart TV, one of the dads just logged into his streaming TV service to allow us to watch but was still hard to navigate with the remotes.
All that said, we hope to be back next year!

This is the perfect location. Our 3rd trip to Watercolor but this one was so centrally located. We could easily walk to everywhere in 10 minutes or less. Cutting through the paths to the ampitheater was the best.
The house layout is terrific. The upstairs sitting area was perfect for the kids. The porches up/down and front/back give great options for where you want to hang out.
The only criticisms are simply things that didn't work. For starters, the refrigerator and freezer were out. However, the property management company brought over a cold unit the night we checked in! And made arrangements to get the unit repaired.
In the carriage house, the smoke detector battery beeped all night on night 1. Again, the PM group stepped in and fixed it. The family also complained about the HVAC unit as being loud.
After that, it was just small things - 1/2 bath door lock not working, etc. Things that come with use and age. Just needs to have details stayed on top of.
Last, for some reason, there was a sign on the ice maker saying "not for guest use". Not sure why. That's a big feature and to not make that available is a miss in my opinion.
In all, we'd go back in a heartbeat.

The television did not work. We called the property manager and they sent a repair person in a timely fashion. However he said the fix would require a new cable box. He said this on Friday and told us it would be Monday before a new cable box will arrive. A new cable box did come on Monday but it did not solve the problem. No other option was offered. The rest of our family was in a house across the street. We all just watched select television programs together over there. We enjoy each other’s company but this was unsatisfactory.

Our second year here. We didn’t love the house last year and had some issues but decided to give it another shot. We won’t be back. One of the issues, the dishwasher, needed to be serviced AGAIN after the door wouldn’t stay up on its own and turning on a TV in this house requires an advanced degree and was very frustrating not to have on a rainy day. The cockroaches, while I know are a Florida thing, have surprised us here every year yet we haven’t had this same problem at the other houses we’ve rented in the area. The bike tires were not aired up on all six bikes so only three out of the five of us could ride at a time. There were some things that just needed attention - broken faucet handle in master bathroom, spider webs, damage to the kitchen floor, no extra blankets - that were the same as last year. After staying in a few houses in the area, this is a great house for young families but not up to par for mature guests wanting and paying for a luxurious vacation home.

Beautiful home and perfect floor plan for our 2 families. I know it is the nature of the area, but there were many many cockroaches. i'm sure people keep the door open and hard to keep up. Thank you for the hospitality!

What a wonderful week we spent at Louisiana Purchase. We had a big group to celebrate an 85th birthday and this house didn't disappoint. The bedrooms all had King beds, the cribs and bunks all worked well for the little ones, the kitchen was well stocked for meals in house, the icemaker was especially useful, the 3rd floor game game room was the perfect respite for the young adults who wanted to stay up late and the location for a quick walk to Seaside could not be beat. Everyone in the group thoroughly enjoyed the home.

2019 Spring Break
This house was the best. It overlooks the nature preserve area of Western Lake. It is on a culdesac and is quiet and easily accommodated our 3 families. The location is excellent...right across from the tennis courts and a short walk to Seaside. The kitchen was awesome for our teenagers to gather and they also loved the independence of staying in the carriage house. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. I did want to point out that we observed security cameras on the back porch and screened in porch area. It caught us a little off because they were pointing into the room and house vs. externally. Made us wonder if there were others throughout the interior of the home. That certainly didn't detour our fun but I think a disclaimer of some sort would have been a nice add.

July 2018 Stay
We have had a great vacation. The home is beautiful but it needs some TLC. The house was not as clean as it should have been. The grill was not usable because it was filthy. Many problems in the bathrooms and the great room furniture was very dirty. The exhaust fan in the kitchen has never been cleaned it appeared. We love the area because of the convenience to all of the amenities. For the amount of the fees we paid we expected much more. You have my phone number if you have questions.
