The cottage is full of personality and charm with lovely views of the lake. The location was perfect for our touring around the Finger Lakes and for quiet mornings and relaxing evenings. You need a vehicle that can navigate a rocky driveway and legs that can handle lots of steps.

We've spent a week at Twin Pines cottage, a family of 4. We really enjoyed it. Communication with the owners is easy, they respond very quickly and provide detailed info. The cottage sits on a beautiful spot. We dont do wineries but regardless, we've had other fun activities everyday of the week- horseback riding, fishing charter, sunset sailing tour, pontoon boat and tube rental, a visit to local Alpaca farm, Ithaca Farmer's market, Discover Cayuga eco lake tour and so on. We enjoyed our barbeque on the beach and explored nearby forest a bit. What a great time! Thank you very much, Dennis and Ed for allowing us to stay here.

Visited with a friend- both of us needed a “reboot” to de-stress and re-energize. What a great retreat!
The cottage was wonderful and filled with character (unique, comfortable, clean, well furnished). The area was beautiful and definition of serene.
The hosts were friendly, helpful with referrals for the area, and accessible if needed. They are obviously committed to being good hosts and commited to being great spokes persons for the Finger Lakes and Ithaca area.
Time at Twin Pines was 10+ !!

The cabin is homey and inviting. The views of the lake are amazing, both on the deck and from inside. A wonderful place to get away and relax!

At the end of a forested driveway, this secluded, warm, cozy cottage afforded us a beautiful, lakeside retreat to spend our evenings.

Beautiful spot, great beach access, very well equipped kitchen.
Gravel road leading to house slightly harrowing but we got used to it.

Beautiful spot- stairs to the beach a challenge, but knew that going in. Plenty of information left about places t visit & things to do. Didn’t realize before we got there that Ithaca and the small town of Trumansburg were kind of it.
Owner was delightful and helpful.

The Twin Pines Cottage was a lovely place to stay for our family of four on the lake, and the location offered great access to the lake itself directly from the property. The cottage offered a beautiful of the lake 24 hours a day. Trumansburg offers much for a such a little town, and Ithaca is just down the road a bit father. If you like to dine out, you're going to need to stay a while to sample the many options in the area. The hosts were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed at the cottage, which was already nicely supplied, especially in terms of kitchen tools. Overall, it is a peaceful place where you can let you kids have fun on and in the water.

Wonderful cabin. Enjoyed our trip to lake Cayuga

It’s all about the view. It is lovely to wake up in the morning to see the sun rising over the lake and then drink your morning coffee on the back porch with the same lakeside view.
Then you can walk down to the lake and take a dip or just soak up some rays.
The location is ideal. It’s close to many of the gorges for hiking, or Ithaca for more of a city vibe.
Dennis and Ed are amiable hosts who cannot do enough for their guests.

This lake house has amazing views from the deck and a wonderful beach area with fire pit to relax right on the shore! We stayed for a family reunion, and, after a good many gatherings in Ithaca, this served as our peaceful oasis retreat where we’d recharge and settle after busy days. The birds singing and the sound of the water from your bed—how serene! Great kitchen stocked with all the things we needed. Special thanks to our hosts for providing all the purified water! This home was very comfortable and cozy; we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly return!

The location was lovely and quiet but still so close to everything. Ed is a wonderful host. Kitchen had everything we needed. Shoreline fire pit and cabana were a surprise treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return. Thank you Ed & Dennis!

Well maintained and beautiful location right off of the lake.

This is a beautiful escape house, not necessarily a convenient location for Finger Lakes touristic forays. We loved it, but didn't really do the views justice because we were out and about so much. An ideal booking if you want to hang out and relax. Hosts are warm and welcoming.

We spent a glorious fall weekend at Twin Pines. The cottage is beautifully appointed and immaculate. While situated among other lakeside cottages, it feels completely private. Perfect lake views both upstairs and down - moonlight on the lake at night and stunning sunrise views in the morning. And lots to do in the area within a few minutes drive - wineries, "gorges" hikes, and lively Ithaca and Cornell U. (I swear we are NOT related to the owners!)

We came to Twin Pines for a long weekend getaway and loved our time there. The cottage is perched high above Lake Cayuga with beautiful views and private lake access. Twin Pines is a perfect combination of well preserved old cottage charm and modern updates (kitchen, shower). Plenty of space for four of us to be together or find a quiet spot to read. Baseboard heat to take the chill out of October mornings and evenings. Comfortable beds with plenty of blankets.
Taughannock Falls State park is minutes away and Ithaca an easy 25 minute drive. The foliage was stunning (and we live in Vermont which is known for its fall foliage!). Trumansburg is a 5 minute drive and their New York Pizzeria makes some of the best pizza we've eaten in recent memory. All in all, a perfect spot for a getaway, and we'd happily return in the future.

Can’t get enough of the views
We just could not get enough of the views and the vibe of the lake house. We were outside most of the time just taking it all in.
Our dog also had a blast… a great jumping point to explore the area.
We will be back!

Another great week at Twin Pines!
My family visited Twin Pines for the second year in a row, and we’re planning on coming back for a third! The house has everything you need, and the private waterfront is perfect for lots of family fun. My kids loved the floating dock. Thanks to Ed and Dennis for another great week at Twin Pines!

We planned a shirt getaway to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Could not have picked a better place! The day we were to arrive awful weather was expected and the owner graciously allowed us to arrive early, so we avoided the stress of traveling through terrible storms. The place has both rustic charm and impeccable taste. I know the owners did not create the nature and view but it was awesome! Can hardly wait to return again.

Loved the views above the lake & the cottage was beautifully furnished & well appointed. Wall of windows on both floors with lake views, & owners were wonderfully friendly & helpful. Approach to property is a bit challenging, driving over a winding road with ruts & holes through the woods, so best to arrive in daylight!

The perfect getaway
This property takes you away from the busy-ness of the wineries but is close by. Private, clean, lovely view perched high above the water. Alot of stairs to get down to the water but worth it for evening fires or fishing. Owners were attentive and available if needed. A wonderful quiet getaway that we hope to visit again.

We loved our time at Twin Pines! The cottage has an incredible view of the lake, and it was so wonderful to be able to appreciate the view from both inside the cottage and from the large deck outside. The wooded setting was so peaceful! The private beach was the perfect place to relax and have a fire in the evening. We’d love to return in the summer to take advantage of the swimming (lots of floats provided), but taking the provided canoes out for a ride was a great way to experience the lake in the fall. The home was very comfortable and clean. The cottage is in close proximity to beautiful hikes and wine, and is a short drive to Ithica. I’d highly recommend staying at Twin Pines and can’t wait to return!
