About this cottage rental
On a prime location on the east side of Cayuga Lake, Cayuga Sunshine will brighten any Finger Lakes getaway. Situated on the edge of the charming village of Aurora, this gem is ideal whether you are touring wineries, visiting Cornell University and Wells College, or attending a lakeside wedding.
Inside, this newly updated home will calm you with its shades of blues, grays and greens, mirroring the views of the shimmering lake below. You'll find the open-plan living/dining room quickly becomes your favorite spot to visit with friends and family. The kitchen accents the great room with emerald green cabinetry and white granite countertops. An island bar offers seating for two. Pour a glass of Finger Lakes wine and visit with the chef of your group while they prepare your favorite meals. Completing the entry level, two master suites are yours to choose from. Upstairs, the third bedroom and bath can be found. Each bedroom is thoughtfully decorated with your comfort and tranquility in mind.
Outside, a walk down the gravel driveway and across the road leads to your 200-ft of private lake frontage. Enjoy skipping rocks, lounging in an Adirondack chair, launching the tandem kayak or watching the many red-tailed hawks and osprey. As the sun sets and the sky is painted with shades of pink and orange, start a fire in the pit and listen to the waves crashing on the shore. Be sure to bring your camera because every sunset is different from the last.
The village of Aurora offers boutique shopping at world-famous MacKenzie-Childs and fine dining at 1833 Kitchen and Bar. For a casual meal after a day on the water, stop in at Fargo Bar & Grill for a burger or seasonal fare. Heart and Hands Wine Company, Bright Leaf Vineyard and Treleaven Wines are short drives away. If a local beer is more your thing, don't miss the tasting room at the Aurora Brewing Co. Whether you're hiking the gorges of Ithaca, taking a private boat tour of the lake with Aurora native Captain Matt Bianconi, indulging at Doug's Fish Fry in the resort town of Skaneateles, visiting the Women's Rights Museum or the Harriet Tubman home, or taking in summer stock at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse or Hangar Theatre, Cayuga Sunshine is the perfect location for Finger Lakes fun. Came to Aurora for a family wedding and this property was just what we needed! Home was beautiful and comfortable for all. A perfect place to relax when not at the wedding festivities. Panoramic views are stunning and the best for enjoying morning coffee and watching boats and wildlife. We only wished we could have stayed longer - highly recommend!

This house was perfect for my girlfriends and I. The bathroom to bedroom ratio is perfect, we were able to make home cooked meals while we stayed, and there was plenty of room to hang out! I wish we had taken advantage of the waterfront fire pit, but we will save it for next time!

Only thing missing was a hair dryer!! 😆

Everything from the house, to the views, to the location, was amazing.

Clean, orderly house with both common areas and separate spaces for privacy. Only real issue is limited hot water in the shower; if you're looking for shower of more than 5, 6 minutes, you'll be out of luck. Kitchen is orderly and functional, BR (only used one) perfectly fine. Joined LR-Kitchen-Dining area offers lovely lake views. WiFi worked fine. Would've appreciated basic TV to allow for watching local news and weather; it's BYO premium channels, FYI, and no basic channels provided. About 1 mile to north end of Aurora, another half mile to compact, picturesque campus of Wells College - which is worth a walk-around 'cause it's so pretty.

Main floor has a good layout w wonderful lake views. The kitchen is well appointed and easy to use. Having a bathroom for each bedroom is great, too.

Luxury on the lake pretty much sums it up. This home is spacious but cozy. The 2 main floor bedrooms with on suites was a real plus for our 2 couple group. The upper level bedroom also provides a full bath. The kitchen was beautiful and functional. Well stocked with dishes and utensils. Great coffee bar! The beds were comfortable...another big plus. The home was exceptionally clean and organized (no clutter). The upper level game area was nice with a great view of the lake. The walk to the beach wasn't far for us but just note the driveway might be considered long for some. The private beach is across the road at the end of driveway. We were able to enjoy an awesome camp fire our first night. Plenty of wood , chairs and tables provided. Solar patio lights added to the beautiful Autumn evening. Well worth the walk! We would definitely rent again if we return to the area.

Great view of the lake and sunsets. Very roomy, clean, and quiet. Long Point Park and the boat launch just a few miles away.

My family enjoyed our visit. The house is exactly as pictured and equiped with everything you could need for a week. There are hiking trails on the property that my husband and I enjoyed. We spent most of our time hiking the falls in Ithaca, Watkins Glen and Seneca Mills Falls. It is a drive to go places but the views are spectacular so we didn't mind. The only downside to our trip is, we all decided, that we didn't plan to stay 2 weeks.

Loved this lake house! Clean, short walk to the water and in a cute little town. Kitchen was well equipped and the decor was adorable. Will be back!

My siblings and their spouses (3 senior couples) found this house to meet most all of our needs. Each of us had our own bed and bathroom which is a real plus. We really enjoyed the game room. We brought our own reversible curling/shuffleboard and had tournaments. We set up a puzzle on the lower table which was a bit of a challenge for our knees and backs. And, we used the table upstairs for late night pinochle games. The lighting downstairs in the dining area leaves something to be desired. The florescent lights hum, put out dim lighting, and periodically one of the bulbs would go out. The only other criticism is the lack of ESPN on the TV. It was baseball playoff time and it would have been nice to watch these games. The house is beautiful. The kitchen very well stocked. And we watched a family of deer come by everyday to sample apples from the trees out front. The firepit area by the lake is a lovely, peaceful place to watch the sunset and enjoy s'mores.

We loved the beautiful home and views from the many windows. It had everything we needed, from kitchen ware to games. We loved watching the deer come each evening to dine on fallen apples from the apple trees in the front yard.
We loved the proximity to the village of Aurora and many nice wineries. It was extremely relaxing and we look forward to another vacation in the area in the future. We didn't realize we'd need to cross a busy road to get to the lake, but that worked out fine.

There is a highway between the house and the usable lake front, no mention of this or pictures of this in the listing.
Also 1 of the bathrooms was locked, only through luck did we find a note inside a drawer with a key saying if you need this bathroom use this key to open.
Otherwise the house was spotless and perfect for our needs

This property far exceeded our expectations not only in cleanliness, but in aesthetics. We stayed here for a much needed girl’s weekend. The house was spacious and well suited for the 5 of us. We enjoyed sitting at the water’s edge and relaxing in the Adirondack chairs, soaking up some April sunshine during the day, and playing games, making food and enjoying the modern amenities of the house in the evening. By far it was the best Vrbo property we have ever stayed at! We will be back for sure.

This house was great! The views in the living room and kitchen area were gorgeous. You could see the lake and sunsets. We saw eagles, deer, and other wildlife during our stay.
The kitchen is nicely equipped and open. The bedrooms are cozy, and it was nice having laundry onsite.
The best part was the private beach. We watched the sunset every night and had a campfire, while the water grazed our toes.
I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely house with an amazing view. The kitchen is pretty new, and had everything needed to prep meals. We explored the area; there's a lot to do. Highly recommend Quarry Ridge Winery which is only about 3 miles up the road.

My friends and I came and had an amazing long weekend here and enjoyed amazing views of Cayuga Lake. The house is very clean, has a great layout and was well decorated. The kitchen had great appliances/pots/pants but did not come with cooking oil so be sure to bring that and any of your favorite spices if you are planning to cook (otherwise, there is a Wegman's about 30 mins away). We utilized the grill and the fire pit each night and it did not disappoint!
The location was really easy as we wanted to stay near wineries and our favorite ended up being down the road from this house which worked out perfectly.
There is also a game room (with board games) and a foosball table which we utilized when it was a bit rainy and enjoyed dinner outside when it was nice to see the sunset off the lake.
We would absolutely come again - already thinking about a return trip next year!

The house is beautiful and very comfortable - perfect for the family time.
It is exceptionally clean, equipped with all needed cooking equipment for any meals and nicely decorated with colors and textures to complement the feel of the local environment.
We specially enjoyed the views of the lake in the bright and spacious family room joined with the kitchen in open plan design.
It’s a bit of the drive to the major state parks but the cozy house makes up for the distance.
We really enjoyed our stay!!

This was a safe getaway. The layout of the house was great. There were many quality kitchen appliances. The house was beautiful and all the bedrooms had comfortable beds and pillows. The only thing that would make this perfect would be hot water that comes on quickly and good water pressure when taking a shower. I would love to come back to this property as it had a beautiful view of the lake. The furniture was comfortable.
