Cute and cozy stay for our summer visit. If you are coming for glamour this isn't it. It is rustic (no AC or dishwasher) but has everything else you need. Good space. Stayed cool during hot weather. Quiet. Relaxing. Close enough to the lake but out of the chaos.

We were in town for a wedding and wanted to stay someplace other than a hotel. The neighborhood was lovely and quiet. The property itself was pretty much as listed, although could use some minor updates. The ceiling/rafters were still rather dusty and full of cobwebs and the bedding could be replaced/refreshed. Also, maybe replace the tons of tiny mugs with some regular sized coffee mugs? We had a good laugh about the teeny tiny cups. For our needs, it was a good place to stay.

Location was great and as others have stated it was within 10 minutes from everything. The lighting, appliances, and decor could really use some updates. It was rather dark in the cabin. The beds were comfortable.

Pros:A great location! Pretty much everything you’d want to do is within a 10 minute radius. Super quiet neighborhood! Budget friendlier than some cabins...but can still be considered pricey.Cons:More aesthetics than anything and is debatable. The decor felt outdated and cluttered, which made it feel less inviting for my family. Our taste may differ from others, so this may be only a con for us.

Pros: Great location, 10 minutes from everything. Neighborhood felt safe, could easily walk around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The cabin itself was quaint and for the price point per night it was one of the more reasonable cabins in the same area.
Cons: Definitely can feel the age of the decor, feel like the bones of the cabin were good and with just a bit of an interior upgrade (electronics, furniture) it would really be a gem! Even though the cabin itself was clean it felt a bit chaotic inside, and it was hard to feel comfortable.
Overall, it was a cute cabin and price point is reasonable but not sure if I’d come back.

We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was clean and very close to all the areas we needed to visit for the Husky in the Snow Meetup. The Bijou dig park was minutes away, Kiva Lake and Nevada Beach was a 15-20 minute drive. Neighborhood was very quiet and the neighbors across the street were super nice! We definitely come and stay here again.

Cabin is cute but in real need of updating. The tile flooring is very old and dirty. I would say hire a new cleaning service. Also the furniture and bedding need replacing.

The sheets and extra bedding were not clean. Very musty. I needed up rewatching some blankets and towels.

Cute rustic place, location was great.
It definitely needed newer cooking utensils, pots and pans, no toaster, no cutting board. The coffee maker is not working properly. Need Bigger coffee mugs too. Refrigerator was too cold it was almost freezing our vegetables and drinks. We made do with what was there.
The bed was comfortable.
The couch was not comfortable.
The water nozzle in the bathtub is very loose.

Cute rustic cabin, but could use a good cleaning and some updating. Located in a nice area, easy access to Heavenly & Tahoe restaurants.

What a cozy, unique experience. Cabin was so warm and had everything we needed to relax in the woods. Snow flurries we're fun for all!

The cabin was great for us. The loft was bigger than expected and that was fun. It was fully stocked with everything we needed. Location was near enough to everything, and the neighborhood was quiet and nice.

I took a short solo trip to South Tahoe with my dog. This cabin was perfect for my needs. Cute and in a nice little neighborhood.
I did have trouble with the heater upon arrival but the management co. had someone there in about 1/2 hour to get it running.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this South Lake cabin. It offered great value in comparison to similar listings. Nice, quiet neighborhood. The house was larger than expected, with plenty of room. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck with morning coffee. Great location with easy access to all of South Lake Tahoe attractions.

My family sold the cabin that was built in 1946 and so this was my first year coming to Tahoe in the summer, renting a cabin. I searched for a cozy cabin with the same knotty pine and history as my old cabin and this place didn't disappoint! It is so pretty from the outside and so perfect for a family on the inside. My 3 kids slept comfortably up top with PLENTY of room for all their stuff (there are even 3 dressers up there!) And my husband and I slept downstairs. It was just the best experience. We loved it so much and are so very grateful that the owners rent this special place for others to enjoy. We will be back for sure!

Cabin is rustic with a vaulted ceiling exposed beam with a loft. It was perfect with the girls having their own space. We did a lot of biking around South Lake Tahoe. This was so much better then a hotel. We played Cranium for hours. Overall, the place was clean, but cleaners missed a few gummy bears, granola bars, and a pan of bacon grease left in the oven. We cleaned up after the last guests. Although there isn't AC, there are fans in both sleeping areas.

Cute cabin in a good location of South Lake Tahoe. We had a wonderful time at this cabin — it was rustic yet equipped with everything we needed. If someone is wanting seclusion in the woods, this might not be the best option (it’s in a neighborhood with other houses/cabins nearby), but it’s a great location for all that South Lake Tahoe offers. And it’s pet friendly! My family is definitely going to come back again. We loved it.

Rustic charm
Outside of cabin is nicer than picture in photo, we loved the American flag being represented. The inside was a lot bigger than we expected. There's a mix of antique and updated features. There was everything in the kitchen you would need if you were to cook meals. We had a bbq on the patio and there was propane as well as utensils to use. It's an older style cabin, not super fancy or modern, but that was it's charm. We loved the wood burning fireplace in the living room, our kids made s'mores and slept downstairs on the huge wrap around couch to enjoy the fire. We had a great experience and hope to go back next year. We would definitely stay at this cabin again.

Basic Cabin
This cabin was just basic. Nothing extra! It’s an older cabin but advertised as being with all the modern upgrades but we didn’t find them . There was not detailed instructions on how to operate the heater but we finally figured it out threw trial and error.

If you are looking for 4 walls and a roof, this is the property for you.
There are some good things and bad with this cabin.
The booking process was easy and the property manager was good with communication and we were granted a 2- hour early check in, so that was appreciated.
The cabin is in a nice and quiet neighborhood.
The cabin is extremely dated. The floors are in dire need of replacing, please bring house slippers. There were a few live termites inside the house. The couch and carpeting in the bedroom are stained and look pretty bad. The main bedroom mattress is old and very uncomfortable.
If you are simply looking for a place to sleep, then this place might be okay, but it would be much cheaper to stay in a lodge or hotel.
We will not be back. Sorry.

I unfortunately booked this property in South Lake Tahoe for 10 days through VRBO. If I had been able to see the inside of the property upon check-in and been able to get a refund I would not have stayed but might have given VRBO another chance. This property was dirty beyond belief and the furnishings, bedding and kitchen supplies were dated, worn, and inadequate. The carpet in the loft was obviously not vacuumed prior to our arrival. We bought cleaning supplies as none were provided and spent 4 hours scrubbing floors, handrails and walls and cleaning the bathroom and laundry. There were still plenty of cobwebs, grime and stained carpets remaining after our attempts to make the property habitable. The cabin itself is cute and with some updates (flooring, furnishings, etc.) it could be a very nice property.
If you look at the reviews on this property, please keep in mind that all the negative reviews regarding pests, cleanliness, condition of property, etc., are valid. When the host responses mention deep cleaning, I doubt that this place has been deep cleaned at any point this century. I am not sure who is pocketing the money for the $175 cleaning fee each time it is rented. I would not stay here again even if you paid me and cannot recommend staying here.

Overall the stay was enjoyable. The management company was very accessible. However, the house cleaners need more supervision. We found two rib bones(from a previous tenet) behind the couch and under one of the beds in the lofts. In addition there was an infestation of ants throughout the cabin. We had to wash the dishes before using them after finding ants in the cabinets. They remained prevalent throughout our stay.

We loved staying in the Black Bart Cabin, it was a very memorable experience! Since we planned our trip in March, we planned on staying in the cabin and enjoying the warmth and the scenery of all the pines around us. But, it's nice because your only 10 minutes from town. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay, it was warm and the kitchen came stocked with all utensils, pots and pans that you'll ever need. It even snowed while we were there which made it feel like a dream! Definitely recommend this cabin to anyone planning a trip to Tahoe!

Main gripe was that when we arrived we couldn't pull into the driveway because there was a big compacted bump of snow that our cars didn't have clearance to get over. We called the rental company twice to get them to remove it but the first call they picked up and said they would try to get someone there and the second call they didn't pick up. We offered to clear it ourselves but they only provided a plastic snow shovel which wouldn't work on the compacted icy mound. The walkway to the door from parking was icy and we all slipped around getting to and from the cars. With maintenance like this I think the property owner should be worried about liability. Especially since the stove in the building has no ventilation and there are electrical connections that are clearly not up to code. Also, some weird motion sensor in the downstairs hallway that clicks anytime someone walks by (creepy). Overall we needed a cheap place close to heavenly to stay and this fit the bill. I will not return and will try to avoid the rental agency due to negligence moving forward.

It’s just a dirty dusty never upgraded property.
The shower has mold in it. Stove doesn’t work well. No dishwasher or garbage disposal. Heater is in only one spot of the house and it’s right next to the kitchen table. So you are either cold in the back or blasted with heat while you eat diner. Floors were sticky. Sit on the couch and watch the dust fly up.
I just felt gross staying there.
My first time using vrbo. Actually surprised they allow properties like this to be listed on the site.
I’m not someone who writes reviews but it’s like come on. I’ll think twice before doing vrbo again.
