The Cottage but the Beach was the perfect location. Quiet and very comfortable within an easy walk to Cook Street Village and James Bay. It had all the amenities and was well kept. Right across the street were miles of walkways and Beacon Hill Park was just a block away. Highly recommended.

Loved Our Stay
We stay here for 1 week and found it to be the perfect location for our vacation. It was very walkable to anything we needed, restaurants, grocery, downtown or just a peaceful walk through the beautiful Beacon Hill Park. It sure beats staying in a cramped and expensive hotel room. Nicely furnished with anything you could need. We would highly recommend this cottage for anyone who is looking for a place in Victoria.

Excellent property close to downtown and Beacon Hill Park.
Very accommodating owners. Very clean unit and everything in place that anyone would need for their stay. Sorry that it is now time for us to leave.

Perfect getaway in Victoria
The cottage has been modernized with the finest materials and with a delightful floor plan that has the bedroom set off from the living area but not in a separate room. My wife and I found it most comfortable, and we loved the location, a few steps from Dallas Rd (views of the Strait and the Olympics) and two blocks from an entrance to Beacon Hill Park (twenty or so minutes by foot to the great Museum). There are many places to eat on Cook St., and a superb supermarket (Thrifty) is also nearby. Add to all of this a most responsive manager, and you have a perfect place to stay in Victoria. We had a marvelous week.

Great location
We enjoyed our stay and really loved the location. We found the couch a bit uncomfortable but maybe that was just us.

This property is a good size for one or two people and well equipped.
The location was ideal for me -- close to the water, close to James Bay, within easy walking distance of limited shopping on Cook Street and about 20 minutes walk from the shopping centre on Fairfield or perhaps 30 minutes walk to the Thrifty's and town centre on Menzies. Both walks are through pleasant neighbourhoods -- a real pleasure. I enjoyed being adjacent to Dallas Road and the walkway along the ocean and I also enjoyed being only two blocks from Beacon Hill Park and its many paths through beautiful vistas both groomed and more natural.
The property manager was responsive to my requests for assistance -- a very positive and accommodating person.

very pleasant holiday
My husband and I have stayed in Victoria for the month of Feb. over the past few years. Our stay this year was one of the best. The carriage house was comfortable, cozy in the damp weather and perfectly located for access to the shore line of the straits, walking trails, the park, restaurants and shopping. The carriage house is well equipped and our hosts, Jordan and Gypsy, were more than willing to help in any way possible. We hope to return next year. Gloria and John, Ontario, Canada

Great Spot, Nice Suite
Really enjoyed our stay here. Quiet, clean, lots of room for 2 people, close to the ocean and downtown core. Good value for the money. Would definitely stay here again when heading to Victoria.

Great location near the water, downtown Victoria and local restaurants.
Very clean and quiet. Central location. Bring your running shoes to take advantage of the wonderful waking path along the water.

Outstanding Studio in walking distance to Cook St Village
While small (it is a studio), this converted Carriage house is a gem both inside and location wise. 200' from the waterfront trail, 2 blocks from the beautiful Beacon Hill Park and just blocks from Cook Street Village, this place offers far more than meets the eye. Inside, we were met with spotless clean and chocolates on the pillows (and spares on the table!), a full kitchen if you choose (and we did) and a comfortable living space. The proximity to Cook St Village (PUB [The Beagle], grocery, pharmacy, ect...) was an unexpected bonus, although it was recommended in the house guide. Access from either the ferry or the airport was cake via Douglas St (Rt 1 or Rt 17) and even if you choose to walk, the stroll through Beacon Hill Park is worth the walk. Full laundry facilities if you need them and great eating recommendations in the house book. Much thanks to Jordan who dropped by moments after we got there to make sure things were ok.

Stay in Victoria
The cottage was quite a distance from the beach. The cottage was cute but the couch was saggie and the entrance way was full of leaves and cobwebs on the outside furniture. I would have liked a cleaner patio. Even though Jordan lived next door he wasn't very friendly.

Great place to stay!
My wife and I really enjoyed staying here. It was clean, quiet, in a great location, and the kitchen is better appointed than most places we've stayed. Brown and white sugar and plastic wrap were much appreciated (as was the chocolate). The size was perfect for the two us, similar to a one bedroom suite at some hotels. Jordan was quick to respond to questions, and he provided us information ahead of time that helped us in our trip planning. Beacon Hill park is almost next door, and it is a great place to just wander around in. The Inner Harbor area is about 20 - 30 mins away if you go through the park (most people would need a good map or sense of direction to go that route). If you are planning a trip to Victoria, this is a great place to temporarily call home.

The loveliest spot in Victoria
This cottage is absolutely wonderful. I can't believe there's a lovelier spot in the city. There are beautiful walks along the ocean just outside the door, and there are beautiful walks in neighborhoods and into town if you take the other direction. The owners are friendly, helpful, and nearby if you need them. They have a great sense of how to provide a generous living space. The apartment is well appointed and handsome. Besides a full kitchen, there is a washer and dryer, which we found very useful. The bed was very comfortable, the nights were quiet.
Besides having miles of sea walks outside your door, there is a large park nearby and a lovely commercial area within a 10 minute walk. We rented bikes, which we parked outside. We were happy to be able to live car-free for the time we spent there.
The apartment is very reasonably priced and truly just a perfect spot to perch if ever you are in Victoria. You will feel very lucky if you find yourself here!

Great cottage, great location, great owners!
We loved our week long stay in the Cottage By the Beach. The cottage itself is extremely clean and comfortable and very well set up. This is our second stay in one of Jordan's units and we really appreciate the thought and care he has put into stocking his units with all the comforts of a home. We made great use of the well-stocked kitchen and bbq when we cooked a few meals "at home". We have a two-year old, so appreciated the washer and dryer in the unit. And, I enjoyed sitting outside in the sun on the little patio during my daughter's afternoon naps. Some of the small details I most appreciated were the good quality coffee beans in the freezer (and coffee grinder) and the cork screw!
We love the location so much and spent a lot of our time at the nearby (and amazing) playground on Cook Street, eating at the Cook Street Village, and walking along Dallas Road enjoying the ocean views.
We will be back!

Great place for 2 people to stay and visit the greater Victoria area.
We were pleased with the location and furnishings. The local information provided was very helpful to planning the visit and in dining. Would come again if we last another 50 years of marriage.

Wonderful place to stay!
Clean and well equipped in a quiet area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great neighborhood! Beautiful views from the beach across the street. If you're a walker it's 25 minutes to downtown either thru Beacon Hill Park which is a couple blocks away or slightly longer using the beautiful waterfront trail. We'd absolutely stay there again and highly recommend it.

Pretty much a perfect place to stay
This is pretty much what every VRBO rental should be. The place is spacious, attractive, and every convenience is provided including a washer and dryer! You're right across the road from the beach and Cook Street Village is only a 10 minute walk away. The bus downtown stops nearby or you can walk through the park and be at the Empress in about 20 to 25 minutes. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!
We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage by the beach. Great location, an easy 5 minute drive to downtown Victoria.
The cottage is perfect with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The places to eat that Jordan recommended were
very good and reasonably priced. Lovely neighborhood to stroll and the bluff walk was right across the street. I highly
recommend you stay here. We will definitely return the next time we head to Victoria. So much better than a hotel.
