Really nice hotel close to the state park, and all the sites in the area. Great amenities, beautiful facilities. Breakfast was included and it was typical hotel food.

Location is good for visiting Jewel cave and Custer State Park.
I checked in and after a bit noticed the heat wasn't working correctly in my room. which was fairly important since it was low 40's out. I went to the front desk and spoke to Reese at 5:15 PM. He said he could move me to a different room but it would be more expensive. excuse me what? evidently paying money to this hotel only gets you 4 walls, the other stuff doesn't have to work correctly. He then gave another option of contacting the maintaince guy who loved 7 miles away and he oculd fix it. Ok, great let's do that. I never heard anything back from him the rest of my stay. Since I was on such a long trip i didn't have much extra money to... upgrade to a room where things worked. so i stuck it out.
Then, the next issues pops up. From around 9:30 PM on throughout the night. Anytime someone in the room next to me (or maybe above me) flushed their toilet or took a shower, there was a loud (and I mean loud) audible dripping noises inside the wall of the bathroom. drip, after drip, after drip. (I have it on video as proof). And it was loud. Loud enough where it was hard to sleep. But, I already knew from my previous interaction with the front desk if I wanted it fixed or moved to a different room, I'd have to pay more. so I stuck it out.
My watch says I got 2.75 hrs of sleep between the freezing room and the constant dripping noise. I mentioned it to the front desk when I was checking out and showed her the video, and explained my interaction from the evening before. There was a gentleman there - who I assume was the maintaince guy?- I offered to take him to the room and show him. The lady said she would 'take care of me'. I took the guy to the room and showed him the noise to which he audibly said "Whoa!" and that he'd definitely look at the room next door.
I guess at this hotel you don't get what you pay for. There are hotels on either side of this one. Go there, don't go here.

Bed and pillows were comfortable, room was clean, we would definitely stay here again! Only thing we didn’t like was the front desk clerk, he was rude and seemed unhappy being there!
Front desk clerk was rude!

We came to watch the beetle burn and stayed here over night. Extremely comfortable beds and bedding. Elevator. Private balcony off our room.

The breakfast was great. Wide selection of items and that were of decent quality and everything was always stocked and fresh!
The floors were really dirty in the lobby and main stairwell. Like they hasn’t been cleaned in a couple weeks.

Great location for exploring Custer, Wind Cave, Mt Rushmore. Staff friendly and very helpful. Our room had a cigarette smell and they were able to take care of it right away. They also had great recommendations for restaurants in the area.
The pool irritated my kids skin and eyes. There were not always towels available for our family either.

Extraordinary location and landscaping! Great beds, fluffy towels. Super breakfast.

The breakfast was very good - lots of good options, both hot and cold, for kids and adults. We loved having a separate bedroom in our suite for the kids. The pool was nice and big and the kids loved it. Conveniently located.

I love that breakfast included warm eggs and sausages, besides the traditional cold ones. Staff was always ready to provide more food whenever was needed, and to keep the place clean. The atmosphere was good and very family oriented. I also loved to spend time in the dinning area at night, or just to see families enjoying their time with games.
Maybe I would like to have some other breakfast options, such as biscuits and gravy or waffles.

Room was a nice size and staff was nice and friendly.
Would be nice if room had more hangers and hooks in the bathroom to accommodate four occupants.

The location was perfect!
The breakfast was fair. Most of the staff were nice and accommodating, however, a staff member named Paula, normally works the night shift could use some pointers on customer service. She was not very friendly and courteous.
There was one night when there were guests staying in the room above us, and it sounded like a herd of elephants for a few hours.

Was not recognised as a IHG member on arrival and found the hotel a little run down with some stained carpets. Obviously at the end of the tourist season.
