Welcome to the PowderDayz Chalet, by Mountain Vacation Lodging. This beautiful, pet friendly duplex home is defined by it's very convenient access to the ski slopes and a consistently high quality throughout. Located less than 100 yards from the beginner level "Stampede" ski trail, guests will really enjoy the location's close proximity to hiking, biking, and of course, skiing & snowboarding trails! The location really is very special. Not many guests in Steamboat get to experience such a beautiful home that is also so very close and convenient to the ski slopes! Not only are the ski trails super convenient, but the owners have built out a wonderful ski storage room complete with Boot & Glove Dryers that will have your fingers and toes toasty and warm as you head out to the slopes in the morning, or after your lunch break! So you want a good location? This home has it, but the home itself will also impress! There are multiple living areas, a flexible bed set up, a large kitchen & dining room, as well as a wraparound deck & patio, making this home large enough to accommodate big groups in comfort and style. The kitchen remodel added solid quartz counters and stainless steel appliances to an already spacious, bright space, which also features vaulted ceilings & skylights. More recently, all four of the bathrooms were renovated. Here the owners and their designers blended sophistication and luxury with just the right amount of western touches. In particular, the master bathroom is quite a treat. Slide the barn door open and enter your spa like space! You will love coming home to this place after a day out exploring. Outside you can relax and soak in the large hot tub on the main level deck, which also has a gas bbq grill and in summer, an outdoor dining area. There is also a lower level patio with furniture, a fire pit, flower gardens and squirrels scampering among the live oaks. In both winter and summer, the outdoor space is nice and private. With pet loving owners, this home is offered as pet friendly, but only with advance approval for well trained dogs and respectful responsible dog owners! Please call or inquire for more details about this fabulous home! Also, please note that there is a set of 7-10 stairs, from the parking area down to the fromt door. From the entry level it is one flight of stairs down to the main level, which includes the kitchen, living and dinig areas, a half bathroom, and the primary bedroom suite. The lower level of the home, which includes the other 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, patio, and back yard, is one flight down from there.

** Amenities - Some private or shared amenities may not be available for guest use during certain periods. Some amenities, when part of a property, may close daily, seasonally, or for maintenance. As such, all amenities can not be guaranteed to be available at all times. Please advise us when or before booking if you have questions about a specific property amenity so that we can give you the most accurate information possible for your dates.
** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Pets & Fees - “Pet Friendly” means Dog Friendly only. If a property is pet friendly, then a per pet, per night fee will apply. Some online booking sites, such as VRBO, do not allow us to list the maximum number of pets per property. If you are renting a pet friendly property, and will have more than one dog, please reach out prior to booking to verify if the home will allow more than one dog. Additional fees will apply for more than 1 dog.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on. If you are booking for a lengthy stay, please contact us before booking online to discuss your group, your dates, the rates, the cleaning schedule, etc.

We were a 3 generation family with 8 adults and 2 infants. The location to the ski runs was terrific - just a short walk. As advertised there are a lot of stairs to many levels, but they weren’t that bad. We enjoyed the private hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked. Perhaps our only complaint was the twin beds were very uncomfortable for adults, so 2 couples stayed in the queen bunk room instead of utilizing the twin room for adults. We appreciated access to he laundry facilities.
We’d recommend the PowderDaze Chalet to others.

We were their for our son's wedding.
Very nice house with everything you can possibly need. Comfy beds. Very convenient to Steamboat ski village. We also loved that you could walk right to a chairlift area and walk down the mountain to the village. We were there in summer.
Really loved how every light switch is labeled so we did not not have to turn lights by trial and error!

Awesome location. Great hiking and wildlife viewing. Saw and moose nearby. My family enjoyed the hot tub and the large kitchen. The master bed was definitely comfortable.

Fantastic property with great access to skiing

Overall this house is fantastic. The location to the slopes is perfect and it was a great place to spend our holiday. The hot top is fantastic and all the beds are very comfortable.

Stunning place to stay. Real wood fireplace made this very cozy. Not quite a ski in ski out but we figured it all out. Will come back.

We loved our stay at this wonderful home! The communication was also really good, we heard right back from the property manager when inquiring about some things. Wonderful family vacation and would definitely stay there again!

Our visit to this mountain home was to gather family together after several years of not seeing each other. The home was a perfect layout and welcoming retreat for both adults and children and our dog. We’ll equipped, clean and relaxing. Would recommend a little more emphasis on the amount of stairs both outside and inside the property.

great house, great location, clean! easy to navigate...and I loved the wood-burning fireplace!

House was in very good shape, exactly as depicted in the photos & description. We had a great stay.

Generally good. Some would find too many stairs In property.

Beautiful home that has everything you need...be sure to open drawers for games and baking pans we didn't see until the last day. It's not a true ski-in/ski-out, but rather a short walk. Also note there are no buses from the house, so you would have to walk to the base (no side walks and hilly) or ski down to catch a bus to town. Property manager is fantastic. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

Instructions were clear and property was just as advertised. Loved the access to the garage and heated area for our ski gear. Walk to slopes was minimal. The place is spotless and loved the hot tub with it's great views.
4.7
Very nice property. Wish we'd known how noisy it would be from all of the construction activity on the nearby ski slope. The trucks started very early each morning. Otherwise, it was very enjoyable. The hot tub, while very nice and we used it frequently, is not level and we wondered if the deck would sink further during our stay. Needs attention.

stairs
It should be noted that there are 5 flights of stairs to get from parking to the lower level of this house. That's alot with suitcases Had to block stairs off as we had a toddler and the steps are open. Had I been aware we would have looked at another location. The floors had not been cleaned. I travel alot and this is the first subpar review I have written.

Enjoyed this property. Very easy walk to the ski slopes. You end up on green hill and ski a short distance to chair lift. Kitchen was well stocked. Enjoyed the balconies and hot tub. Mud room in garage. Wouldn’t be good for anyone with mobility issues due to stairs. I would stay here again

I paid a lot of money for the rental of this property, so I expected a clean well kept place that would comfortably sleep 10 & that would be in a good location for what we wanted to do while in Steamboat Springs. I deliberately chose this house, because it was supposedly pet friendly & the photos looked like it was an upscale home with great views. I did expect a few stairs because I knew it was higher up on the mountainside, but I was shocked when I got there and saw how many stairs there actually are. There were 3 flights of stairs, four if you include the stairs leading down in back of the house. This was not disclosed to me & this was a problem because my husband suffers from Parkinsons & has difficulty with stairs. The only thing that saved us was the master bedroom, kitchen and great room were all on the same level so that minimized the issue of going up and down stairs for my husband. For the rest of us, it was a night mare! I wish the rental company had been more open about the many levels of stairs in this house!! The other thing, as a pet friendly house, you would expect at least a small patch of grassy area for your dogs to eliminate on! I have no problem with picking up after my dogs, but most dogs have been trained to go on a grassy area. There was none!! Literally, it's all surrounded by woods & forest - which is beautiful but not handy when you have pets! I solved the problem by walking down the road a ways to someone else's property where there was a grassy area. The first night we arrived, I noticed that one of the downstairs windows was open & not closing properly. So I called the manager and he came right over. He determined that the window had been left ajar & that a bear had tried to enter through it, totally destroying the metal mechanism that opens the window. Sure enough, there were huge mounds of bear poop right outside that window. The part to replace it had to be ordered, so the entire time we were there, we were unable to use that window and were slightly afraid that the bears might come back! We wanted to use the blender that was available to make a drink but when we pulled it out, it had black mold growing in it. We had to clean & disinfect it before it could be used. The washing machine was moldy too! The place was very dusty & we had no wifi almost the entire time we were there!! This was a problem for my son who had expected to work remotely some of the time & the bed sheets were old & torn.

Overall, our stay was great! The house has a gorgeous and spacious interior with a mountain cabin type of feeling. We had peace and quiet after long days out compared to what you could expect from most of the other condos/vacation homes further down the hill. The balcony is very private, hidden among the tall pine and aspen trees. The kitchen was well stocked for the most part, but there were only a couple of dishtowels, which we had to wash often because our stay was 6 nights. That said though, there were plenty of bath towels available. Unfortunately, the house seemed to be cleaned in a rush the morning before we arrived, as we would have expected such a lovely home to be cleaner when we first walked in. Another caveat is that the house does not have A/C, which was uncomfortable at times with the weather reaching the mid-90s while we were in town. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

The Property is certainly nice and met our needs. We had a few little things on arrival but the management was responsive. We were able to get early check in which was great. There are a number of stairs if you have older people in your group. We enjoyed the pet friendly aspect and being able to walk a few hundred feet to hike and bike in the ski area.
