Gondola House is truly a one-of-a-kind ski chalet that's just steps from some of the best skiing in Colorado. Perfectly located underneath the gondola line, you'll cherish your Steamboat vacation with friends and family at this home.
Walk into the lower level and drop your gear here or in the private garage. On this level, you'll find the plush Primary Suite with a King bed, hotel style linens, and a walk out patio with private hot tub. You'll also find the perfect kids area on this level with multiple sleeping options and a private bathroom to call their own. Head upstairs to the main family area including an open living room, attached dining area, and fully updated kitchen. Sink into the plush couch and warm up by the fire while you watch the gondola swish by from the picturesque windows. Chat with the chef in your group while they whip up dinner and enjoy time together at the large dining room table. You'll find two additional bedroom in the house on the upper level - a Queen suite and King bedroom - both with ample privacy and perfect mountain vistas. Finally, this home features a private carriage house above the garage that has a Queen Suite and small kitchenette.
Our favorite part of this house is the outdoor space including a bubbling private hot tub off the lower level Primary suite and the main level deck that's perfect for dining al fresco. Picture yourself here grilling a meal with family and friends and watching the gondola go by. It's dreamy if we do say so ourselves! This home is also within walking distance to the slopes of Steamboat Resort via a ski trail that's accessible during most winter months (ski conditions may vary).

The Gondola House was perfect for our multi-generational family trip! The home is so beautiful, comfortable and convenient! The staff went above and beyond for us! We thought we were going to use the ski trail close by, but the shuttle service was better. It felt almost like we had our own driver all week. The drivers were kind, knowledgeable about the area, and treated us like they'd known us for years! We will stay with Steamboat lodging every time we visit!

Very much enjoyed our week stay at Gondola House. original plan was for myself, four adult children (22-30 yo), and grandma to stay. Grandma said she was okay with stairs to get to a bedroom but she dropped out (along with one of my kids) at the last minute. While the bedroom arrangement worked well, not sure having grandma going up and down the stairs would have worked. For the remainder, it was great. opened the windows at night and it was great sleeping weather - even in August. Youngest child had the apartment over the garage - so he could chill out away from everyone else - which he loved. A little warm during the day in summer but not bad with fans.
The location was the best part. Easy access to the Thunderhead trail to get to the top (3.4 mile hike from the door to the gondola). 12-15 minute walk either down the trail or on city street to Wild Plum and Truffle Pig (highly recommend both). From Wild Plum are, caught the bus either to City Market or downtown. Did some DIY tubing, went to the botanical gardens - all short drives. Hot tub was nice at night. Spent mornings on the back porch reading and drinking coffee. great stay - thank you all very much!

We had two properties for our large group and used this house to host. The great room / kitchen were nicely remodeled and true to photos online. The rest of the house was functional. Having the Carriage House was a great option, as well as access to the garage.

It's private, right on the mountain, and has the most incredible views of the gondola and the valley. Plenty of room to spread out amongst the rooms and it's been renovated recently so everything felt updated. We cooked and grilled a lot and the kitchen was stocked and ready for us. The bedding is new and nice and opening the windows at night for fresh mountain air is highly recommended. My nephew came up and stayed in the caretaker room above the garage which was awesome for space and privacy. We had a slight issue with the hot tub not being warm enough when we arrived, but we chatted with Steamboat Lodging Company about it and since it was recently cleaned, it just needed a little more time to warm up. Not a problem for a clean hot tub, that's for sure. Overall, 10 outta 10 for this home and we're already booked for our winter ski trip!

Our group of nine thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The walk to the slopes was short and easy, and the free shuttle provided by the lodging company was very convenient for most other transportation needs. The living room, kitchen and dining areas were perfect for our group, and most of the bedrooms are lovely (though the twin bedroom and its bathroom are a bit sub-par). We had a few maintenance issues, but thought the property managers were very prompt and responsive in dealing with them. We would love to come back!

Excellent
The Gondola House was the perfect size for our group with plenty of space as well as in an excellent location. The slopes are a short walk away to where we were able to walk and hop on a run down to the base of the gondola and ski off and walk back to the house every day. The shuttle service that Steamboat Lodging Co. provides is also very convenient and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Great house for a big group!
The house was more than spacious for our ten-person group. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities you would need to cook for a big group. The additional care taker's house is also a very nice feature to allow some people to be away from the main living area if ever necessary. The house is also very close to being able to ski-in/ski-out, only a couple hundred feet walk to the nearest access to the ski trails. Steamboat lodging company was also very responsive to our questions/requests. We really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful house on the mountain
This large, comfortable home was perfect for our group of friends exploring the Steamboat area. The location on the mountain is great -- out of the bustle of downtown, close to bike & hike trails. The house had lots of amenities. The managers were easy to contact, responded quickly and were very helpful. We loved the deck, the hot tub and all of the windows for lots of light and fresh air. The kitchen could have been a little cleaner when we moved in, but overall this was a great place for our week in the mountains.

Had a wonderful stay in steamboat. Steamboat lodging company was a pleasure to work with. Had a few problems and they were there immediately to fix them. Comfortable and Convenient
Our family of 9 adults and one child enjoyed the Gondola house very much. Our only initial problem of no heat in the room above the garage was promptly dealt with the next morning (it was in the 40's at night). Loved the long table we could all gather around. Very comfy, roomy. Cooking facilities very adequate. Only suggestion--add a Keurig coffee maker and possible a French Press. We brought along the latter but not the former.

The Steamboat vacation was made easy through Steamboat Lodging from arrival to departure and all the trips in-between. They were friendly, helpful and made a large family vacation go smoothly. Perfect House for Group Ski Trip!
Our group of ten 30-somethings recently stayed at the Gondola House during a recent early-December ski trip, and the house was everything we had hoped for and more. From the open kitchen / living space to the boot warmers and ski racks just inside the downstairs door, the house was seemingly built with a 'group ski trip' in mind. Being able to walk directly to the slopes in our ski boots was a game changer, and being able to walk directly FROM the slopes to our private hot tub was even better. There was something about sitting in the hot tub with the gondola running overhead that really maximized the "ski vacation" vibe.
Peggy and the Steamboat Lodging Co. team were attentive and professional, and I really felt that they would do anything to ensure that our group had a great visit. They called a couple of days before our arrival to answer any questions and remind us of their complimentary shuttle service (which our group used to head downtown for dinner one night), and their iPhone app made checking in/out a breeze. They've really nailed the "be attentive and helpful but not intrusive" balance perfectly.
Sure, having a powder-covered mountain seemingly to ourselves for the weekend set us up for success, but having this house really made our trip one to remember. Looking forward to staying here again soon!

Wonderful Home!
Everything was wonderful at the house. A few suggestions would be to change where the fire alarm is in the kitchen. Every time we cooked it went off. It was extremely annoying. Also, you need more plates. You have plates for 8 but it sleeps 12. The only cutting board was super small. You need larger ones....maybe a few plastic ones would be great. Other than the above, it was very comfortable and clean and priced very well. Thank you!!

Well Appointed, Needs Improvements
This is one of the best appointed VRBO'S we have stayed in; you can tell the owner has spent their money on modernizing the furnishings and interior design.
Peggy at Steamboat Lodging responded promptly to issues we had on the first night of not having the fan working in the upstairs bedroom by having a repair man their ASAP.
Kitchen appliances were top of the line and were great for family cooking.
Onsite hot tub functioned perfectly and was clean.
However, there are several improvements needed.
1. This house gets HOT during the summer. The way the windows face on the main level get direct sunlight the majority of the day and there is NO window coverings. No way to beat the heat. It was almost uncomfortable in the house from 12PM until after dark.
2. Floor tiles are warped in entry hallway and kitchen. You can tell this house is old. The new floor tiles don't set evenly on the floor in the entry hallway and in the kitchen. We stayed with my parents and mother-in-law (late 60's, early 70's) and they both tripped multiple times because of tiles sticking up due to the uneven floors.
3. Not enough dishes. Max occupancy is listed as 11. There was neither 11 dinner plates, nor 11 coffee cups. We were constantly doing dishes.
4. No extra linens or towels. With a hot tub included, you would assume there would be some extra towels around. None were found, so the washer/dryer was running currently.
5. Check out time was stated as 10AM, a Steamboat Lodging employee showed up at 9:30 to begin cleaning the hot tub that we had just gotten out of. What if we wanted to use the hot tub until check out?
At the end of the day this is a very nice remodel of an older house. I would consider staying here again if there were improvements to the house to help with the summer time heat and making sure there are enough dishes and linens. Very nice appointments make you feel like you are staying in boutique hotel; however the negatives would weigh heavy on my decision to stay again.
This could be the perfect winter house if linens and dishes are brought up to par, but we were a summer time guest.

Wonderful, charming
We went up with a group of 10 (four adults, three college students and three teen/preteens) and had a fantastic stay. There was plenty of room to sprawl out and for everyone to have their own space too. We took full advantage of all the fun around the property. We hot tubbed day and night, went for walks, mountain biked, and enjoyed our meals on the large scenic deck. The kitchen was roomy and fully equipped. Our only regret is that we didn't book a longer trip! We will be back!

Clean and Comfortable
This home was clean and comfortable. It was wonderful having this many bathrooms. The management company was very accessible and they were in contact before, during and after our stay. The only concern we had while at the property was the lack of screens on the windows. It was very hot and we had to sleep with the windows open which allowed for bugs to come in.

Great family time at the Gondola House!
We really enjoyed our time in Steamboat for our son's wedding, and the Gondola House was perfect for our needs. We had a group of family and very close friends stay together, and the house is set up perfectly, with multiple bathrooms, great common space for hanging out, and awesome outdoor options like the deck and hot tub. Our only regret was that we were so busy with wedding activities, we didn't get to spend much time just enjoying the space. Steamboat Lodging was amazing to work with, and I can't say enough about their helpfulness, responsiveness, and kindness. We reported a small leak around the base of the toilet, and it was fixed within a very short time. They even left a sweet gift for the newlyweds! Thank you very much for a terrific experience!!

Great Wedding Weekend!
Our experience at Gondola House was very positive. A group of family and friends stayed for our son's wedding, and it was the perfect spot for us. The convenience of having a bathroom for each room, as well as the nice large living and kitchen area is so good for a large group.

Great Service!
The instructions for check-in were perfect. When we arrived, we were greeted with a basket of goodies. The house is located just a short walk away from the slopes and if you don't want to walk the shuttle service is available. Great kitchen with tremendous views. Steamboat Lodging is a great company. Gondola House-great place for Steamboat vacation!
The Gondola House is a great place for a larger group or family to stay on the mountain at Steamboat Springs Ski Resort. It is not a new house but is bright, simple, and clean. It is well equipped with kitchenware, new appliances, a gas and a charcoal grill, and lots of furniture. The best thing is watching the gondola and the great view from the large indoor windows or the comfortable porch. This house is near to being "ski-in, ski-out" in that it is a short walk downhill from the Stampede run near the base to the house. The walk back uphill to get back on the run was challenging for me but I live at sea level. It is about 1/2 mile to the base but would be difficult to walk due to the elevation. Inside there are three bedrooms with king or queen beds, one with twin beds for the kids, a small loft overlooking the living room with a bed, and the separate "caretaker" apartment for those who would like more privacy. The only thing missing was a hot tub. Steamboat Lodging did a great job of communication.

The house was great. It had plenty of rooms and space, fit 2 families. Everything was clean there .
The house was perfect if you have a big family it's just right for you. Everything was clean when we got the. We had a blast. I enjoyed having all the plates and kitchen materials. It was very spacious and had a wonderful view. It was in good shape and didn't look like an old lodge. I loved the outdoor sitting area.
