The extended family enjoyed the stay. We had everything we needed. There were some things that needed to be repaired in both units, but that did not keep us from having a good time. Great views and easy access to the beach.

Great location, loved the beach privacy, the kitchen was comfortable to work in, loved the # of bedrooms and bathrooms. Plenty of bedding and towels, all were clean. We would come again.

The house was great for all 16 of us. Plenty of room. One of the oven doors wouldn't close but we had the other ovens. There were some sugar ants in both kitchens but we didn't seem to have any issues with the food. One of the bedroom heaters wouldn't work and another wouldn't shut off. Other than those items it was a very wonderful experience.

We rented two adjacent townhouses connected by a door on the second floor for vacationing with our children and grandchildren.
The beach, a few steps down from the rentals, made it very convenient for our grandchildren to go to the beach whenever they wanted.

We rented both sides of the Sand Castle Villa. It was beautiful and roomy for our large family. We loved that you could open the doors between the two units so it was like we were in one rather than two locations. Being so close to the ocean was also huge. My husband who has Parkinson's was not able to make it down to the beach from the rock steps; they were just too treacherous. The kids didn't seem to have any problem. Both kitchens were very well stocked (we loved the unit that had each cupboard labeled!). My only concern was check-in. Because of numerous complaints I read online, I specifically contacted Vacasa ahead of time to ensure we wouldn't have an issue. They said we wouldn't, but we certainly did. Codes for the lockboxes were not provided. That being said, Vacasa was responsive in getting us the codes, but it was frustrating standing outside after traveling 8 hours and not being able to get in. We also had to contact them about the codes for the hot tubs, but they were responsive again on that. Again, beautiful homes, beautiful location.

The house was described pretty accurately. We also had a little issue with the lockbox, but it was dealt with super quickly by Vacasa and had no other issues. Hot tubs were very comfortable, nice and hot! Location was great. Layout is a little funky in that the back deck is accessed through the downstairs bedrooms, but was not a big deal. Beds were comfortable, and a great place to accommodate our large group. Thanks again!

Location was fabulous and the place was clean. We rented both units. Spectacular views abound and access to the beach was quick and easy. The fact that every bedroom has its own bathroom was great. Kitchen well equipped and hot tubs were very nice. A few appliances were labeled as broken (one fireplace and one microwave) but since we rented both units, it wasn't a problem for us. The only real negative was that Vacasa didn't provide the correct access codes so we couldn't get in. I had called previously to get the codes which were not included in the email as promised, but then it turned out that they were wrong. Standing in the cold rain, we spent time on the phone with a person who was very polite and tried to be helpful but clearly did not know how to address the problem to allow us to get into the units. Finally, they sent a local Vacasa person to let us in. He came up with a workaround for us and demo'd how to use the locks. He was very good and came quickly, but of course, there should have been no need for this. Vacasa needs to A) actually send the correct codes and B) provide detailed instructions about how to unlock and lock the units. The two locks do not work exactly the same way and are not intuitive. Pro tip: Insist on getting this info if you book this property.

This place is steps from the beach and can sleep 12 people comfortably. The only issue with the whole stay was with Vacasa. Check in codes were never sent so I spent a lot of time in the phone problem solving. Fortunately the people on the phone were very helpful!

We rented this two unit home for Thanksgiving and it did not disappoint! Home was very clean, very well equipped, and the views! Oh wow the views! The beach access was perfect and very short! Could not have asked for more. The local staff, specifically Jake, were incredible when we needed an last minute assist both getting into the property and again with getting an item left behind at the property @ Checkout. Not Vacasa's fault at all but they sure showed up! Vacasa is the BEST!

The 6 bedrooms and bathrooms were a great fit for the 13 family members that journeyed to Rockaway beach. The view was fantastic and the hot tubs were used every day.

The house was perfect for our family of 8 grandchildren and 7 adults. We loved having 6 bathrooms (a bathroom in each bedroom, and having the house right on the beach was a plus with having kiddos. The hot tubs were a plus for cold ocean swimmers.

Just like described, the home was right on the beach with gorgeous views. Kitchens are very well equipped with everything you need to make big meals. Beds were very comfortable. We had an absolute great time and will definitely stay there again.

The houses (we rented both sides) have so many bedrooms and bathrooms, it was perfect for a writing retreat so everyone had their own space. And the views of the beach are stunning. I did think there were a few small annoyances, things like no working can opener, and also as a warning to others, the rocky "stairs" down to the beach are definitely not easy to run up and down even though the beach is so close. For anyone with any mobility issues, I would think twice about renting this place if you want easy beach access.

Marvelous location - right on the beach! Loved that both sides of the duplex were accessible to each other by an adjoining door. Kitchen well equipped, the place quite clean, linens plentiful, washer/dryer convenient.
Wish the website had indicated the units were each two-level, with most living/gathering space upstairs. While this made for beautiful views, it was difficult for older guests to constantly maneuver the stairs. Suggest adding a little more soft seating pieces. Would also suggest switching the dining table and the sitting area to take advantage of the view! Overall- a truly nice place to stay!

This home fit our whole family of 8 adults and 8 children comfortably. The easy access to the beach made it incredibly easy to get beach time for the kiddos. The path was easy to climb and the beach was not crowded.

Great location and view - right on the beach
We spent a week here with 2 families & some friends (11 people, all adults). The combo of having 2 areas was good - 2 kitchens, TV's, tables (for eating, board games, etc.) worked very well. Having 6 bedrooms and 6 baths was a big plus, as was the configuration of a couple of the rooms with "adult sized" bunk beds so people could share a room without sharing a bed. We had a couple of minor issues (one of the stoves stopped working mid-way through the week, the hot tub was more of a warm tub), but the Vacasa staff was responsive to everything we brought up. We loved being able to walk out the back of the units down onto the beach (via some rock steps), and really appreciated the view - especially from the 2nd floor, which was great for people watching, seeing the sunset, and looking at the glorious ocean view. The units were very clean and tidy and we enjoyed our time at Sand Castle Villa.

My bed was excellent. Bedside table was only so-so. There were NO drawers in my room. None at all. The rest of the family said their beds were excellent, too.
Kitchen was best stocked of any we have ever stayed in, and very clean.
I only wish there were some way to keep the birds from leaving deposits on the windows.

Who ever manages this location has too much on their plate. Half of the placed wreaked of a litter box and car urine. The fridge/freezer did not work. The hottub would not hold over 90 degrees.

The view is just beautiful and there is plenty of space! The fireplace is a nice touch and really warms up the room! Kitchen is well equipped. Some cobwebs and shower needed to be cleaned and blinds need to be replaced. One room didn’t have any blinds. The sliding doors are very hard to open and close but overall we enjoyed our stay

Beautiful ocean veiws
The ocean views were spectacular. Access to the beach was very easy. As we rented both condos, it was nice to have two living areas. We used one for eating and the other for playing games. Also there were many other beaches to explore near by.

Gorgeous view, great location, decent furnishings, home mostly well kept...but broken washer and dryer, gobs of dog hair in livingroom and balcony, no toaster, broken fireplace on the other side (rented whole thing), a couple of the beds not the best. Stocked pretty well with necessities and kitchen items. Even some toys. Hot tub was nice. All the camp chairs were one one side, wouldn't have had any if only rented the one side. ZERO local support. Binder on coffee table sounded like help was just a quick call away but phone number didn't work. Called Vacasa and they took note but could do nothing apparently.
