We chose this place for the location on the lake and we were not disappointed! The views are wonderful from almost all windows and the lake was quiet this time of year.
And, the private dock was the BEST! We spent a lot of time down by the water and made good use of the kayaks and canoes. It was perfect having everything right there + having it all to ourselves.
Comfort-wise, this home has everything we needed and was spotless when we arrived.
We would absolutely choose to stay here again!

We will definitely stay again! Beautiful lake views and direct access to the lake and large dock. We spent our days using the kayaks (thank you for allowing us to use them) and evenings enjoying the town of Grand Lake. The place had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

We had a great time! We are kayakers so the ease of getting in and out of the kayaks was great even for beginners. The steps at 1st appeared daunting for some old members of our party, but they soon were looking at the exercise as a good thing! The rooms were comfortable and gave us lots of room to spread out. Tom was very helpful and responded to our questions quickly.
Suggestions: Garage door opener- it was extra step-up leave the house running back and forth, all info sent via email should also be in the notebook for ease access and longer tie offs for the kayaks. We had some pretty good wind events in the late afternoon. I checked on the kayaks 2 -3 times in the evening "just to make sure."

All of the pictures are true to the eye! What you see is what you get and it is as close to perfect as you can get.
We had the privilege of staying at this property for the 4th of July week. The view was amazing and the fireworks were brilliant! This vacation will be hard to beat.

We have been coming to this property for several years now and the recent major upgrades the owner did made this place even more desirable for the family to have a wonderful lake vacation. The price is a lot cheaper (relatively speaking) than the nearby on-water properties. We love the toys that come with the house. It’s more spacious than you think and the oversized deck is to die for. Just can’t get enough of the views.
Tom is super responsive and friendly. We will for sure keep renting here.

We spent a great weekend here. The house was as advertised. We had a boat we were able to keep at the dock and go on both lakes as well as do some kayaking. We will be back!

When choosing the rental my main priority was the view....and boy did this rental deliver! The cabin sits on Shadow Mountain Lake and provides view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The location is about 5 mins form the quaint village of Grand Lake that offers shopping and dining. The drive over Trail Ridge Road to Estes is much longer, but we knew that when booking and made for very scenic drive when we made our way to Estes Park. The cabin was clean and had plenty of room for my family to spread out when needed. There are over 50 stairs to get to the doc from the deck (and back up…) so let that be know. But I would absolutely book this cabin again if I had the opportunity!

What a great house and location. We have never been to Grand Lake so we didnt really know what to expect. But it was one of our best vacations as a family. The house was perfect. Beautiful scenery and a big lake to fish in with kayaks. Kids loved fishing, hiking and being on the lake. House was perfect and we had no issues. What a relaxing perfect get away. Definitely be back!

This home is wonderful, The views of the lake & mountainside are spectacular. The jacuzzi tub was amazing after a long day of travel & skiing.
A couple things that was a surprise was,
1. Not being allowed to have a fire in the fireplace in the middle of the snow covered Rocky Mountains.
2. The microwave is located very low in the cabinet below the range, which made warming our chili & stew we made for our week a little inconvenient.
3. We are from the south and love to cook a big breakfast every morning…. The cookware was impossible to cook anything in without it sticking, even sausage, especially eggs, hash browns.
Over all, we loved the home, and where it’s located. If you plan to eat out while visiting, you will enjoy this home. We were very much looking forward to having a fire at night, (the temps outside were from -5 to 25 while we were there.) It was not until we were given the check-in information, that we were told No Fire in the fire place. The home was clean, and comfortable, just a couple small improvements to make this an 11 out of 10!

Loved it all. View of water and scenery . Beds and bathrooms . Cleanliness and good kitchen. All just great.

Location, house all great. There are 96 steps to get from the house to the dock, just so folks know. Some hard water stains and some trouble with lights, but overall super delightful.

This house has a gorgeous view and all the amenities needed for a great trip. The house is right off the main road, so, easy to get to town. Only downside is the sound of the traffic at night. However, was totally fine with my sound machine. Would def stay here again!

Our stay was a wonderful relaxing getaway. We used the kayaks and the canoe. Spent many hour on the deck admiring the beautiful view. Definitely got our exercise on the stairs. Close proximity to town where we wandered and of course enjoyed ice cream. The ONLY complaint We had … the bathrooms could use some deeper cleaning.

This was a very nice property. We especially liked sitting on the deck next to the lake. It was a very nice feature to have boats to go for lake excursions! There is some highway noise at the upper deck but it is not super distracting. It was perfect for our family get together.

Great place to stay right on the lake. We are already planning on coming back next year!

Three generations stayed 6 days in Tom’s wonderfully private cabin. Because of the forest of aspen, pine and birches around, both on deck and down at dock, our granddaughter said it was our own secluded retreat. Tom needs update website photos because they did not do justice to the comfort and available spaces to either be with or without the family.
There are 95 steps down to dock. I’m on oxygen at night and went down at least once each day, but immediately was on my O2 when back in cabin. Quickly rebounded and felt good even though 3,000 feet higher in altitude than Denver.
Loved visiting Grand Lake Town and the busy beach area with a million things going on at once. Population of Grand Lake year round is around 300 and we loved helping support their economy.
Tom was great communicator and that is sometimes number one. We’d return again and again.

We had an amazing time, viewing the fireworks were excellent from the deck. Having the dock and kayaks worked great, we all enjoyed them. It was great being back home, visiting friends and family, would gladly stay again. Rob & Ann 🤗

The property location is awesome, great view of the lake and very peaceful with the hummingbirds coming around. Very comfortable sleeping areas for me and my friends. A few broken things in the house when we arrived and we were unaware that things like that would be broken. Great access to the kayaking and canoe as instructed, and we did catch a 13-in German brown off the dock in the evening. So that was great. We would probably go back, but instead of putting a sign on things that are broken just fix them next time. Thank you!

Our family stayed here for 3 nights. Great home for families with amazing views. It may have been in the listing but perhaps we missed it. This home is about 40 feet off the highway. You can't hear the sounds of the vehicles from inside the home unless you have the bedroom windows open (which in the summer you probably will). This isn't a huge deal, just something to know. Also, while there is lake access, there are litterally 95 steps to get down to the water. Again, not a huge issue unless you have elderly folks in your party, which we did. The waterfront access is great. Fun spot to fish (we even caught one trout). Very responsive host - we would suggest anyone staying here.

The view was incredible. We were very comfortable in the house. It was very well stocked, warm, great soundproofing. We are looking forward to going back in the summer. Great house. Thank you.

Location of the cabin is perfect . Very beautiful around great spot for boating and fishing.
The only thing is the cabin itself was not clean on the main floor, the floors were greasy first thing we did was mopped them when arrived, and inside the house was this very old smell like in a retirement center.
Otherwise it was all that was in the description of the listing and had everything necessary for rest.

We enjoyed our stay. The views are just so captivating everything else fades away. We really enjoyed the waterside deck.

The cabin was perfect - great location, beautiful lake views, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, all the appliances (incl. washer/dryer) and amenities (kayaks, life jackets, etc.) one could ask for, and convenient access to the market and town, all while giving the feeling of being relatively secluded.

Spectacular views. We loved paddling around the lake and star gazing. Would highly recommend and hope to be back again!

My family enjoyed our stay at this cabin very much. There was plenty of room for the six of us (4 adults and 2 teens). The location on Shadow Mountain was great and the view from the deck was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing on the dock and going kayaking and paddle boarding too. It was very convenient to dock our pontoon boat and cruise around both Shadow Mountain and Grand Lake. The cabin was well stocked and everything worked as expected. We enjoyed the games that were provided for guests too. Tom, the host, was great at answering our questions and giving us help. We are all very happy we had the opportunity to stay at this cabin.

We enjoyed our stay very much. House was really comfortable, clean, well maintained. We liked the large deck with views of the lake and we also really liked the dock area, where they have tables and chairs as well as kayaks available to use. It can be a little noisy on the main house deck as the house is near the main road leading into Grand Lake, but it was still nice to sit out on the deck and enjoy the views.

Nice cabin but their cleaning crew should do a better job. they should have dusted all the cobwebs out of the light shades and from around the windows outside. I would suggest you give the dimensions of your boat slip because it would not accommodate our ski boat. The Host "Tom" was very good about getting back to us via Text messages.

This was our second stay at the property. It was a magnificent experience for the family.
Having 4 kayaks, all the life jackets plus a canoe made a huge difference. Although we did bring our own SUPs as well.
We got on the lake anytime we wanted, no need to haul anything, just walk down and paddle out. I would say this is the best feature of this house. If you have some tubes, bring them. Our kids loved sitting on tubes and used the ore to paddle around the property while the adults sat on the dock drinking beer listening to music lol. Good times.
Another really nice feature, which is not listed is that on the second floor, other than the regular queen size bedrooms, there is a little den that has a double bed, perfect for a kid. So technically speaking, you could consider this a 5bedroom house.
I also love the den downstairs and spent a lot of time at night reading there.
One thing to note: the kitchen is well equipped with condiments and such, bathrooms are not. We couldn't find a single bottle of shampoo nor soap bar. I had to use kitchen hand soap to take shower since I didn't know the house had none stocked. So definitely pack all of your bathroom toiletries.
When you arrive, you may not see an umbrella by the dock, it's in the shed. We sat in the sun for three days before we discovered the umbrella lol.
Tom is a fantastic host, very prompt to messages. I will book again with him in a heartbeat.

Beautiful property, great layout to accommodate our family of 7. The home was fully stocked. It was so nice to relax on the deck and dock and enjoy the view. Having multiple kayaks and a canoe made it nice so we could all enjoy the lake together. Hiking Great! Grand Lake sweet! We all loved the cabin and would definitely return.

This was a great lake house and it did not disappoint. All the previous reviews were accurate. The location was ideal. Kayaks, canoe and life jackets provided for convenient fun on the water. Owner is a great communicator with check in/check out process, recommendations for renting a boat (Trail Ridge Marina) and the house is well equipped with all you need. The house was spacious and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We'd definitely rent this place again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place in the Grand Lake area.
