The Citrus House is named for its many fragrant citrus trees, whose blossoms flood the grounds with their sweet scents during the spectacular spring months. There is a magical wonder about the house that one has to simply bask in to believe. Once owned by Darryl Zanuck, founder of 20th Century Fox, the Citrus House is a peaceful and comfortable oasis just steps from the wonderful downtown shopping and delicious restaurants. A word of warning though...it can be a tough property to leave :)
The comfortably charming main house features two large master bedroom suites. Through a short hallway off the beautifully appointed kitchen, the cozy bunk room (sleeps 4) includes a full bathroom, as well as it's own HD television. The Citrus House also offers 3 guest casitas, each with their own entrance - and each with a full bathroom, HD television, and tastefully designed furnishings. The three casitas are part of a separate structure which also features a view deck, where one can take in the majestic beauty of Mt. San Jacinto and the surrounding peaks.
The Citrus House includes a gourmet, state-of-the-art kitchen, ideal for entertaining and perfect for large gatherings. We absolutely loved the Citrus House for our group of 6 women. A bedroom and private bathroom for each of us, spacious well-equipped kitchen, and gorgeous grounds! Excellent location walking since to all downtown attractions, and very responsive hosts.

We took a quick trip to Palm Springs for 4 nights in February. Weather wasn't great but sun came out so that we could enjoy the pool. Three of the bedrooms/baths are in a separate building which worked great for our group and people who wanted more privacy.

We absolutely loved the property! Everything you could think of you may need for entertaining was in the kitchen. Beds comfortable fire pit enjoyable lots of fresh fruit to pick off of the trees So close to everything, we walked everywhere

Amazing property - as others have said, the pictures do not do it justice! From the fruit trees to the casitas and multiple outdoor sitting areas we didn’t want to leave. Very walkable to restaurants and used the many bikes to tour neighborhoods. Absolutely loved our stay!

Agree with other reviewers. Pictures don’t do this property justice. It’s a really unique, one of a kind property. The outdoor space is lush and resort like with lots of comfortable seating thoughtfully placed with lighting and activities. Perfect for many uses - families, bachelorette parties, couples, retreats. House is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. The inside is comfortably furnished and feels warm and welcoming with lots of charm and unique design features. The only thing to note is if you are staying during the high summer temps the house is old and not very energy efficient. The AC units in the casitas could use updating. Main house bedrooms didn’t get very cold except for the bunk room which had a modern split. The property ran warmer than expected but the outdoor space is so amazing, it 100% makes up for it. I would definitely stay again during a cooler month. Highly Recommend!

The Citrus House was fabulous, perfect for an extended weekend for our family of 6. Conveniently located to some of the best shops and restaurants in the desert. We enjoyed the beautiful tiled pool and comfortable lounge chairs, bocce ball, we biked, played tennis nearby, hiked to waterfalls, enjoyed outdoor meals in the garden and all watched MBA playoffs in the comfortable living room. The house was clean and comfortable, and so well equipped. The fresh citrus everyday was a real treat. We can’t wait to return.

Pictures online can’t accurately depict the beauty of the outdoor area of this home. It is stunning and we enjoyed as much time outdoors as possible. Despite temps in the 100’s, there are many covered areas that stayed cool and the pool is lovely. Hot tub wonderful as well. Property owner was incredibly responsive to questions or needs while we were there. The home is lovely as well-each bedroom has everything the guest would need and the kitchen is perfectly equipped. Our group of 6 friends could not have been happier. Proximity to downtown is a few minutes but still a quiet neighborhood. Beautiful park within a quarter mile that we all enjoyed as well.

This was the perfect spot for our group of 9 women on our annual girls weekend trip (new city every year). The property was as described (no surprises). The location was excellent! Close and convenient to everything. The pool and jacuzzi were inviting. More than enough space to hang out and have fun but also have some private time if need be. I would highly recommend!!

We love staying at this beautiful property. It is a gorgeous home with well appointed rooms and a full stocked kitchen. It really is like staying at your own private resort; beautiful grounds, citrus trees, the large private pool, hot tub, bikes, bocce ball court, fire pit, outdoor pizza oven. Plenty of room to spread out and close to downtown. Owners and house manager are great with communication. Booking soon for next year. Thanks again for an amazing stay.

We stayed here for a bachelorette weekend to relax and restore ourselves. Everything on the property was stunning and thoughtful. It is the perfect place to stay in Palm Springs where you can have privacy, relax, cook in and have a truly memorable time. The home itself has aged very well and has incredible character, the kitchen is well stocked, and every corner of the yard is beautiful. The beds were all very comfortable and we stayed cool despite 100+ temps that weekend. The one single downside was that Gardeners came very early on Friday morning, which we weren’t notified of. It startled us, but we got over it :) the check in process was so easy and everyone involved was easy to communicate with. It would be a dream to stay here again, I had the best time. Don’t think twice!

Very nice property with three casitas.
It's located on a Main Street so you get a lot of street noise while outside in the pool.
House was not very clean upon arrival and had issues with the air conditioning all weekend not cooling the house down. Making it very difficult to cook meals inside since it would be unbearable. Was charged extra fees from management for cleaning out a fire pit and " extra cleaning fees" when the house it self wasn't clean ie (bugs and dust in rooms)on arrival and no instructions to not use a Fire pit to burn wood at night.

My girlfriends and I stayed here for a long weekend and did not want to leave this gorgeous house. The photos do not do this property justice. The pool was perfect, the kitchen was perfect, and it felt like a dream staying here. We are already talking about another trip to Palm Springs. Highly highly recommend booking this perfect property.

The pool, hot tub, lawn bowling and many chaise loungers were all utilized. A quick walk to shops/restaurants and close drive to the tram and hiking trails. The noise from the street did not bother us- actually made it less stressful to be quiet outside with PS noise rules. Took a day trip to Simi Valley to Reagan Pres. Library- a trip well worth the drive.

Once again we truly enjoyed our stay at the Citrus House in Palm Springs. This is a beautiful property with a lot of space, comfortable rooms, and great amenities. The property is even more beautiful than the pictures convey. The location is ideal, close walking distance to many restaurants and shops. It's the perfect vacation spot to gather a group of friends or family. We are already planning another repeat visit for 2023. The owner and manager are awesome to work with, great communication. Thanks again for sharing this spectacular home with us!

We are an extended family of 9 coming in from various parts of the country and this house was perfect. It has plenty of space - interior and exterior. The house and kitchen is very well appointed. There was a serious plumbing issue while we were there and the owners and house managers handled it very quickly and efficiently. We would happily come back again!!

Wow! This property is even better than what we were expecting. The house and the grounds are gorgeous. Dealing with the property manager was a breeze. Everything was clean and we had all the things we needed. It's right off the main road so there are a lot of restaurants and cute coffee shops. We love it and would highly recommend staying here.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cirtus Hosue for our group of 8. THe property, more like a compound, is breathtakingly beautiful. The interior is decorated with the mostly beautifully curated items from around the world, with comfy beds and great linens and fluffy towels. The outdoor living is the best I have ever seen in a rental home - complete with amazing pool, 12 luxury loungers, gorgeous long table for meals on the veranda, and a pizza oven! The owners were incredibly responsive and answered any questions within minutes. The only constructive criticism I have is that the ice situation is a bit dismal. The fridge does not produce enough for a house that large and was almost empty upon arrival. I suggest putting a 20 lb bag in the freezer to get guests started and then let them buy more. This is so minor though, the hosue is luxury in every way and walkable to everywhere in downtown Palm Springs, if you ever want to leave. Thank you for the hospitality!!!!

I felt less constrained by that because the front side, which is where the pool is, faces Indian Canyon Blvd, so there is some traffic noise. But it made it so we weren't paranoid about disturbing the neighbors, so it was actually a good thing. The traffic noise was not too noticeable, and the pool still very private with well established hedges. We made use of the pizza oven with great results! There are plenty of spices and some staples, which not all rentals have, we appreciated that. Owners were responsive and communicative before check-in, and provided a nice welcoming gift for my birthday weekend. It was really wonderful! The pictures really undersell this property. You will be pleasantly surprised at the grounds and house. There were a few minor issues, some just go with an older house - squeaky doors, broken doorknob, etc., a little oil and elbow grease would fix. We were told not to use one of the ovens, but the one we could use didn't get up to temperature. One minor mistake in the listing - there are not three separate "casitas". There is an outbuilding with 3 private rooms, each with its own entrance and full bath, but they are all in one building in the back yard of the main house, sort of like a motel setup. They are nonetheless also well appointed and totally private. It worked well for our group, and we had a great 4 days here! Highly recommend!
