I wasn’t aware it was a basement apartment, but that was not an issue at all. We had our own privacy and Brad was super nice and accommodating, even when we wanted to extend our stay. The view and the hot tub was amazing! The place was clean, spacious, and very nice! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be a top choice for future stays!

Mixed feelings about my stay. The place was nice & the view was amazing, however there were several things that I wish I would have been informed of prior to booking
1) there are no closets
2) no washer & dryer
3) the list of “house rules” was over the top
4) in the house rules the owner requests the renter to be conscious about the amount of noise made because the owners actually live upstairs, however, there was often loud banging and a ton of racket coming from upstairs.
5) There are 2 doors to the entrance, 1 regular door & 1 glass door. If both doors are not completely shut at all times then the owner will turn off your heater/ac remotely. I mean you can’t be carrying in luggage & leave the inside door open even though the glass screen door is closed. He says it is because of utility costs but if I’m paying a premium rate for a weeks stay I don’t expect to have my door status monitored at all times & be reprimanded by losing heat. .
6) you can’t wear shoes in the house at all. Which is frustrating because all the floors are hard floors & it is a really cold place.
7) the microwave is located on top of the full size refrigerator & is impossible to get to without using a chair to stand on plus you can’t even open it all the way because the door hits the drop down ceiling. A real problem if you have children too.
8) we were only given 2 towels each (1 for showering & 1 for the hot tub) for our entire 5 day stay. This would have been tolerable if there would have been a way to do laundry, but there was not.
9). The kitchen table is tiny. While the place sleeps 8 the table is big enough for maybe 3 people.
10) there is no place to hang your coats or jackets. I mentioned no closets, well no coat hooks either. we went to go skiing so it was cold & we had on multiple layers which had to just be laid on the couch or on beds.
All in all, I found the list of rules to be too extreme & unreasonable at times. I felt as if I was being monitored remotely & that made me uncomfortable.

Thanks for a great stay—we spent the week taking paragliding lessons and the location was perfect. Hot tub overlooking the valley is perfect.

The place was clean and comfortable with a great hot tub and amazing views. Was frustrated that I had to shovel snow to access the unit then was threatened by owner to close the door when I was going in and out cooking dinner on the grill. Also, there is a camera looking right at the hot tub that made us all feel a bit uncomfortable when it’s light would come on intermittently. I get the need for protection and automation, but I got a big brother vibe that spoiled the whole stay.

The best things about this place are the view and the hot tub. The living space is tiny -- for a place that technically "sleeps 8" there is barely space for 4 people in the living room, with no kitchen or dining area to speak of, only a tiny table with 4 stools, a 2-burner stove, a microwave perched inaccessibly way up on top of the fridge. Heat was set to 63 degrees & place was always freezing. Host was rude and unfriendly, and charged extra for a 5th person although it was advertised for 8 people.

This is a very roomy, clean, and nice property.
I do think that it should have been made clear that this is a bottom level of a residence. We were very concerned with being too loud laughing at night. If I had children with me it would have been even more concerning.
The view is spectacular.

This was a perfect place for a small get-together for my daughters 18th birthday. We did some decorating but honestly the space is already pretty fun! Already had a disco ball, colorful LED rope lighting, etc. The view, the hot tub, and the outdoor seating around it really make it an incredible setting. We didn’t realize initially that the owners are in an adjoining/upstairs floor, but there was zero issue with that. Considering we had older teenagers who were outside late, the owners were very accommodating and made sure everyone had a great time.

I am not sure it is possible to beat this view while staying in the Salt Lake Valley. Great hot tub too. Property owner was very kind.

We had a great stay here at The Purple Heart, that’s the name we gave it for the big heart! Definitely a great location and views for days!
