The beach is the high point of this property - lots of lounges, great snorkeling, kayaks, etc.

Enjoyed the location away from the touristy bustle on the other end of the island. The cottage was very comfortable and well appointed. Would happily stay here again in future.

My wife and I chose this place for our honeymoon destination and it was perfect. We were out of town and it was nice and quiet. The beach was well kept and the ocean was SO warm. We would love to come back!

This was most appropriate for a couple, or a couple with kids.
Our visit was relaxing and peaceful which we really needed.

Location was ideal on the East End of the island. Cottage was clean and size worked fine for two people.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. Everything was very clean upon arrival and both the owner and property manager were easy to communicate with for all of our needs/questions.
A few pros to note that I didn't see in other reviews... The hot tub on the property was kept cool during our stay in June and it was a HUGE plus for us. We have a 6 year old daughter and we spent quite a bit of time in the hot tub "pool" with her. It kept her busy, was relaxing for myself and my husband, and it kept us all cool!
Another thing we loved about the property was the ocean past the dock. If you take a paddleboard or kayak out past the dock there is beautiful clear blue water only about 4-6 deep so you can get out and snorkel or float in the water. You can go all the way to the break and there is a rock "beach" that you can get out and walk around on. We loved being out there!
The property is also located within short driving distance to many amazing restaurants and beaches even though it's on the East End. A few of our favorites were Barefoot Beach, the Blow Holes, TUKKA bar, The Czech Inn, Rum Point just for a chill time, and the bar on the water at Morrit's (you can walk to this if there's no sargassum).
The only cons - we got unlucky with sargassum so walking along the beach was a no go (BUT if you take the boards out past it, it was no issue at all) and also my husband and I weren't super comfy on the living room furniture. Overall a fantastic stay. We would go back!!

We celebrated our wedding anniverasary at the cottage. It was absolutely beautiful! Everyone we encountered was pleasant and friendly. Lorraine greeted us when we got there. The cottage was beautiful and clean. We enjoyed having our own private beach. The island was beautiful! There was plenty to see and do. The local food was delicious. Our favorites were One Stop, Big Tree BBQ, Vivine's Kitchen and The Italian Kitchen. We would definitely return.

What a wonderful cottage by the sea we had the pleasure of staying in for nine days. The communication ahead of our visit was outstanding, getting questions answered, information about things to see and do on the island and overall, very friendly and welcoming correspondence. The cottage was perfect for us and our granddaughter, who occupied the upstairs room. The kitchen provided us the ability to cook meals when we wanted to but were well informed as to local restaurants. The cottage has great AC, which we used at night, the Internet worked well, and the beds and furniture were comfortable. The property has lots of blooming flowers and coconut palms with lovely white sand. Snorkeling was fabulous right in front of the cottage and house. There were hundreds of fish just a stroll into the sea. It is an amazing place take in the sunrise each day while sipping coffee barefoot on the beach. Lorraine was spectacular! She is such a lovely person, and it was a delight to see her during the week. You cannot go wrong with booking this cottage!

Such a beautiful location and home for our vacation! East side of the island with our own private beach. Lorraine has kayaks, even found us snorkeling equipment!! 5 of us and more than enough room to stretch out. We are definitely going back!! We felt like a park of Lorraine’s family.

Can't beat the quiet location on the East End with kayaks and paddle-boards and a place to watch the sunrise. Perfect for our stay!

Totally enjoyed our stay. Location is in the East End of the
island, which is away from the bustle of cruise ships/7-mile
beach. Private beach with beautiful sunrises. Affordable
and modern accommodations. Only hiccup was thought we
would be the only ones on the property. There is actually
5 rental units. But, we met several couples and it only enhanced our stay. Lorraine, the property manager is a gem and she is there to make your stay great!. Will definitely go back.

This two-storeyj cottage is on the peaceful and quiet East End of Grand Cayman. if you want hustle and bustle, night life, noise and a zillion people, don't stay here -- book yourself a room at one of the towering resorts lining Seven Mile Beach, and don't say I didn't warn you. If you want to relax, connect deeply with the island, the beautiful aquamarine, warm water, the tropical fish, stingrays (they won't hurt you) and the coral, and if you want to hang out on a lovely private beach, with tropical fish to see in the water RIGHT THERE, then this is the place for you. The cottage is not technically ocean-front, but it has a deck attached to the second floor, where you can easily see the ocean and where you can dine and relax. There is almost no traffic on the road nearby. If you want to dine out or go to a seaside bar, there are 2 choices, in small resorts about 1 mile up the road. Best of all, the property manager Lorraine is a wonderful, friendly, helpful, lovely person who can be reached easily and who will take care of any needs or problems, with a great attitude. You should get to know her while you're there--you won't regret it.

We had a great time at the property. Enjoyed being away from the more crowded part of the island. Loved the really private beach and the kayaks/SUPS. The space is nicely appointed and the host was gracious and responsive. We will be back!

As stated in the title, the representations of this property are a complete scam. Here is an enumeration some of the most egregious falsehoods: The property is actually located 10 feet from the main road and 100 yards from the beach. The view around the property encompasses trash, construction debris, and general disrepair. The decks and railings are falling apart, the roof is rusted through, and the deck boards are peeling their paint. The front door has been replaced and looks like it was removed and replaced with a dull butter knife. The coconut tree depicted as growing through the deck is a stump. The interior furnishings look like hand me downs from a college fraternity house. The lamp shade was smashed and torn. The bedspread was covered with stains, and the bed linens had holes in the sheets. The furniture cushions were beyond their useful life. The coffee machine looked as though it may have been there since the islands founding in 1503. The amount of corrosion on the iron and stains on the ironing board made it look ancient, as well. After one nights stay, we decided the property was in such bad condition we moved to the Wyndam resort to complete our vacation on the island, This property is not worthy of a VRBO listing, and was not worth one penny of what it cost to rent the Cottage by the Road. In addition to this review, I will be posting this review content, along with accurate photos of the property, on Google.

We loved this spot, great snorkeling and privacy. We like to be off the beaten path and love to be outdoors and active. This location and property gave us all that.

R&R in Paradise
Sandra’s Cottage was exactly like the pictures. We were just a few steps to the beach. Spent most of our time relaxing. Just what we wanted. The East end of the island is so peaceful and there were no crowds. We cannot wait to go back.

Your own private beach...amazing!
We stayed here for 10 days and it was lovely. The cottage is cute, clean and the East End is SO cool. We liked it far better than 7 mile beach, which is an UNBELIEVABLE beach and only a 45 min drive. Our only complaint would be the mattresses. I struggle with back problems and the mattresses were really hard. None of us slept very well. Other than that, the owner was superb to work with and I highly doubt you can get a better value for your money anywhere else. The cottage is perfectly located. I highly recommend an open air Jeep for your trip! Beautiful island with beautiful people. We can't wait to go back!

We appreciated the effort to make our stay enjoyable. The island has many offerings but also many quiet places to reflect on our lives. We shall return one day. Thank you

Our whole trip went very well. The property is beautiful and everything is as stated. The directions where great, maybe a little hard to find in the dark. But the statement about if you get to the resort you passed it and go back 5 houses are perfect. The property manager, Lorraine, was so nice. Had to contact her when we arrived and she showed up in 7 minutes and took care of us. I only wish I got to say good bye to her. This is a great pace to stay. The views are awesome and it's away from all the hustle of the tourist areas. Waking up in the morning and looking out over the water at the beautiful sunrise is so worth it. We used the provided kayaks and had a great time. We will be back and will stay here again. Once again , Thank you for a great visit to your beautiful island.Bill & Janet

Cozy Beach Cottage
This property was perfect for my family of 3. The location was on the East side of the island, away from the cruise ships and hustle and bustle of tourists. It was quiet and very comfortable. A car was necessary and the best way to explore the island. Mother nature threw us a bit of a curveball with the sargassum (seaweed), but we were able to swim at the private beach with no problem. Water shoes are recommended. Our best meals were at Tukka, Big Tree BBQ and Over The Edge. When we return, we will definitely stay at this property. It was great. Exactly as described and excellent communication with the property management.

Great location on the East end!
The Cottage by the Sea was a perfect spot for myself and three teens to spend a week in lovely Grand Cayman.
Sandra was great with communication and her local property manager Lorraine was lovely and helpful!
A rental car is a must to visit other beaches, restaurants and stores. There is a small Fosters and a liquor store within 5 min but would recommend getting groceries in Savannah on way here from airport. The beach here at the house had lots of sargassum but it’s hard to avoid on the east side of the island. We were able to snorkel and kayak off the beach but if you are squeamish bring water shoes. Enjoyed the hot tub in the evening after a day at the beach. Rented snorkeling gear for the week from Ocean Frontiers right up the road.
As for local excursions- def make reservations for a Stingray City trip -
We booked the early morning trip with White Sand (out of Kaibo yacht club) and they were awesome (ask for Capt Chris). Snorkelled at Spotts beach, Smith’s Barcadero and Cemetery Beach all on west side of the island. Spent the day at Rum point - nice beach, plenty of food options. Also, check out Botanical garden for chance to see blue iguanas. Ate at the Reef Bar at Wyndham, Tukka (go at 5pm to feed frigate birds!) and Taco Cantina (2 for 1 tacos on Thursday). Food is expensive everywhere so be prepared!
Enjoy the quiet East end!!

Had a great time at Cayman Cottage by the sea
We really enjoyed our stay at Cottage by the Sea. The cottage was clean, comfortable and stocked with most everything we needed for a great vacation! We were glad we knew to bring our own paper towels and salt & pepper. The accomadations were great and the grounds and beach were beautiful. The only downside we found was the seaweed and garbage on the beach. We realize this wasn’t the fault of the owners but wish we would have known that it is common on the eastside in the winter months. As well as the wind. The kayaks and snorkel gear were a nice addition as well! The Fosters IGA just up the road was great for getting groceries. We also really enjoyed the local resurants including Eagle Rays, Tukka, Over The Edge and our favorite Taco Cantina especially on Tuesdays or Thursdays for 2 for 1 tacos, beers, margaritas and tequila shots but make sure you make a reservation. Other recommendations would be a visit to Starfish Point, Lunch at Rum Point and Sting Ray City! We were glad we rented a car so we could get around easily! The east end was a nice and quiet place to stay away from the tourists and big resorts. We would definitely recommend to family and friends!

A Wonderful Spot
Like everyone else, our first comment is that the cottage is exactly as advertised. What it doesn’t tell you is that the air conditioning system is superior to 4 and 5 star hotels we’ve recently stayed in. Our bed was comfortable, loved the tropical colours in our cottage, kitchen was outfitted enough for me to cook dinner at home when we wanted a break from restaurants. We enjoyed the hot tub at night to watch the stars after dinner and our lovely private beach where walkers often stopped to admire where we were staying compared to their crowded resorts where their rooms viewed the parking lot, not the sea. The local manager, Lorraine, checked in frequently to see if we needed anything but we never did.
We saw the largest collections of fish right at the remains of our wharf. Our 2 teenaged grandkids, who were staying in a posh home in George Town, wished they could have stayed with us for their entire stay and not just the 2 days we overlapped. The area is so refreshingly tropical without fighting your way through, literally, over 17000 cruise people every day or enduring seeing the sea from the 3rd row of beach chairs. We had ample beach towels provided, so don’t bring your own. We drove all over the entire island several times during our explorations, nothing is very far away but a rental car will enrich your holiday.
Hint: other than our own beach the best snorkelling was Cemetary Beach, and most fun swim was Smiths Barcadero. Always free parking available and shady spots on the beach with very few people despite the Rock Festival KaaBoo going on while we were there.
After our week at the Cottage we moved into George Town but it wasn’t as memorable as the Cottage.

Wonderful experience!
We enjoyed our stay at cottage by the sea. The location, property, and amenities combine for an excellent value. There are several outstanding beaches and restaurants fairly close, Although 7 mile Beach on the west end is pretty hard to beat. If you’re inclined wake up a little early on a clear morning to watch the sunrise from a lounge chair on the beach. Spectacular!
A few small suggestions… The cottage has a wonderful kitchen, but does not come with any paper towels, plastic bags, or Saran Wrap. (There are coffee filters). So be sure to pick those up at the store before arrival. It might also be helpful to have some instructions on how to use the Apple TV system for those that haven’t used it before.

Relaxing
If you want a quiet place to relax that is close to the beach—this is it. The water was great. There is an ocean view from the upper deck. We had some internet issues initially, but Lorraine was helpful. The upstairs bath has a tub with hand sprayer but no stand up shower. There is a small grocery store and liquor store a few minutes away. We loved Taco Cantina—go on a Thursday for 2 for one tacos and margs, but call ahead for a reservation. We used the kayaks but did not use the hot tub. The kitchen had adequate housewares. This is the quiet side of the island/-about 40 min from Georgetown, so plan accordingly.

Clean, comfy, upper deck great view for relaxing and not crowded.
First time staying at the cayman cottage inn and glad my family of seven made this vacation plan a reality. For over 14 years I have always wanted to take my kids to Grand Cayman! I am glad the house was perfectly working for air conditioner and housing utilities as well. Privacy was perfect and away from the busy crowd on the other side of the island which is a plus. Kayaking on my own was fun and enjoyed the view of the pristine clear water. All my kids enjoyed the house and the house keeper was very friendly and always caring. I am hoping to come again in a few years with another family if possible.
