About this cabin rental
Welcome to Maggie Valley!
Our home is open and ready for guests who want to visit Haywood County, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Cherokee, Bryson City and Sylva.
Our beautiful home sits on Jonathan Creek and offers a 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin that is clean and cozy. Due to the exterior of our home flooding from Hurricane Helene, we do not have grass in the yard and are restricting pets at this time. We will let you know when that restriction is lifted. For our outdoor motor enthusiasts the roads are paved and flat with year-round access and parking for two vehicles. (If you are pulling a trailer let us know as we have options available for storage)
The cabin offers short-range mountain views, creek-side enjoyment, as well as a 6-person hot tub to help you relax and rejuvenate. Listen to the sounds of the rushing creek, trout fish, float and play in the protected waterways of this beautiful creek. A flat back yard with fire pit provides evenings of fun around the campfire.
Shady Creek Cabin is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Smoky Mountains, Soco Falls, Cataloochee Ski Resort, and Lake Junaluska & Cherokee. We love the short-range mountain views out front, the sounds of the rushing creek in the back, the glimpses of the area black bears and elk, the nearby Maggie Valley Country Club golf course, the summer hummingbirds and fireflies, as well as the close proximity to area conveniences. We hope you create bountiful memories at our cabin. Located off a connector road to Soco Road - the home is conveniently located to get you where you want to go exploring or if you want to relax by the mountain stream.
THE SPACE
When you arrive, you will be greeted by the sounds of Jonathan Creek. Once inside, you will enjoy a clean, cozy cabin with Tung and Groove walls, tile flooring and large stone gas fireplace. We provide bath towels, bed linens, blankets and pillows, and enough amenities to get you started, but you will need to bring everything you require to have an amazing Mountain Home experience with you. There are opportunities to enjoy short range mountain views off either the front porch or back patio with a hot cup of coffee or tea or cocoa. Jonathan Creek runs the length of the property and can be enjoyed anywhere in the backyard; the hot tub, fire pit, the covered porch, grilling and eating at the outside table. Outdoor lighting has been installed to create a relaxing atmosphere while enjoying the creek or the great outdoors. Modern, yet rustic, family & friend gatherings will be memorable. The bedrooms all have queen-size beds, each equipped with cable televisions and DVD players. The fully-functional kitchen has a dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, glass-top range and refrigerator.
Washer & Dryer in the Laundry Room
Strong WiFi most days, but in the mountains the internet can be fussy at times
Gas Fireplace
Propane Grill (each guest who uses it is required to clean it after use)
Central Air & Heat
We will allow a dog, with prior approval, 40 lb max, for a $75 pet fee. We ask you to please clean up after your dog and to be considerate of others when leaving your dog outside.
This is a non-smoking home. We do allow smoking on the porches and outside and smoke pots are provided. Please do not throw butts in the trash can or in the yard or driveway.

We had such a good stay. Can’t wait to come back.

The property was in a very easy place to come and go to all Maggie Valley has to offer plus being on the creek in the swings made us not want to venture far!

When we went to get a shower for bed,on the first night, the master bedroom shower had a crack in the hose. Water was spraying everywhere. Notified the owners and it was repaired the next day. Crock pot lid and insert were dirty and had to be cleaned before use. On the second day of our stay, my husband noticed “bites” on his arms, back, and legs. Our daughter in law (nurse) identified them as bedbug bites and we examined the room and found evidence (dead bedbugs) in the nightstand. Informed and sent pictures to the owner. An exterminator came in and confirmed the bedbug issue only in the master bedroom. We (hubby & I only-not entire family) were offered by the owner, a night stay in a local hotel but it was our last night of vacation and no guarantee that the hotel would not have the same issue, so we decided that one more night was not going to make a difference. No other compensation was offered or asked for. I will say that the owner was awesome and very upset and apologized for the situation. We just do not want others to have the same experience we had.

Wow this has was everything and more!
We booked this beautiful house for a month and it still wasn’t long enough.
I work from home and the internet was very stable. When my work day was stressful I would step outside listen to the river and reset.
The house is close to everything.
Our Grandkids came for a few days and we had plenty of room.
I would highly recommend this beautiful house!!

The house was perfect. The location was so close to the ski location. It also was just a few minutes to cute shops and downtown Waynesville. We really enjoyed being able to bring our dog with us. He just likes to chill with us in the evenings. The host was very responsive when I had a questions. Would highly recommend to anyone.

This is the second time we have stayed here - and we LOVE it! To be able to sit on the front porch and look at all the gorgeous colors of the leaves on the mountains, then head to the backyard and sit by the fire pit and watch he ducks play in Jonathan Creek - is absolutely stupendous! The house it self is nice and cozy. I wouldn’t change a thing! Had an absolutely perfect vacation!

The house was just what we needed to relax for the week and spend time with friends. The fire pit was great to spend time around at night. We can't wait to stay here again here again.

This was our 1st time at Shady Creek but the 2nd time renting from Ken and Beth. Our 1st time was at Cottage on the Creek. We love both properties. Our stay at Shady Creek was so peaceful, it has all the comforts of home and more. We enjoyed the cooking outside and sitting by the burn pit next to the creek. We wish that we could have stay longer! Thank you Ken and Beth for everything!

This was our first VRBO stay and we loved everything about the process. Our hosts, Ken & Beth were exceptional, making sure everything was ready including early check-in, and delivering wood for our fire pit. The house was super clean and comfortable with plenty of amenities and space for our week-long vacation. The covered porches, fireplace, and clothes dryer!, were put to good use in the inclement weather. We look forward to returning to Maggie Valley in the fall and hope Shady Creek is available.

This was the coziest little place and the creek in the back yard was so nice. Beth is a saint and paid attention to every detail. She had shampoo , laundry detergent, softener sheets, etc. You name it and she had it. We fixed steaks on the grill one night and I had forgotten steak sauce but guess what? Beth hadn’t ..I looked up in the cabinet and she had steak sauce, seasoning, etc all waiting for me. The house was spotless. The hot tub was clean. I even asked Beth if we could check out an hour later because of my elderly mother needing more time to get ready and Beth didn’t hesitate to tell me it was fine to leave at 11:00 instead of 10:00 am. We had a wonderful time and we will be back.

We had a large time staying at Shady Creek on Jonathan Creek. My husband cooked out on the grill almost everynight. We had a hard time going inside at night. The sound of the flowing water and the hot tub were so relaxing. We enjoyed making and eating smores and roasting marshmallows around the fire pit. And my dog, Macy, and I enjoyed swinging on the back porch while watching the ducks. It was hard to go home and go back to work. Can't wait to return on our next vacation to this wonderful relaxing vacation home!

The cabin couldn't have been cleaner. You'd never know it was pet friendly as it was cleaned so well. I was worried that I'd have a reaction to pet hair/dander but I was just fine. I have a pet but he's a Barbet which doesn't shed and has pink skin so very little dander. The atmosphere was relaxing being by the creek and we enjoyed our stay.

Another great vacation experience with my grands here! This is our 3rd year staying and just the perfect place for us. Creekside, close to town, nice yard, covered porches, fire pit, and we love having the campers across from us. Love that the kitchen window and back sliding door overlooks the creek so I can watch the kids while preparing meals. Have already booked our stay for 2023 before leaving.

Great location: cabin, yard, hot tub, grill — and that creek!
Owners were very helpful with all aspects.
We've stayed "up the mountain" several times and this was a welcome change from the stress of the climb. Minutes to both the best of Maggie Valley and Waynesville.
Wish we could have stayed longer .

We had such a great time at this rental. It was close to the ski slopes, restaurants, and shopping. The hot tub was awesome and provided a much needed relaxation after a day in the slopes. Beth was very accommodating to let us add an additional night at the beginning of our rental AND an additional night at the end. She was very easy to contact and very quick to respond. We had a great time and would certainly stay here again!
