About this house rental
Imagine spending a month in paradise relaxing and refreshing your soul!
This gated waterfront tropical estate is perfect for a romantic escape or winter retreat.
Completely updated 2/2 upstairs with separate 1/1 guest quarters available upon request! Situated on a landscaped, canal front double lot with 45’ concrete dock.
Just one house away from the Harris park beach and open ocean, you will have space to relax and enjoy all the keys has to offer!
We are centrally located, with easy ocean access and just steps from one of Key Largo's only sandy beaches!
Use our paddle boards or kayak to explore the shoreline ( we have steps built into the dock to let you walk directly into the water as you launch.) Only 4 houses in from open Atlantic ocean, you can explore Tavernier’s warm turquoise waters, and local reefs; Tavernier Key is within view from the balcony and can be reached by boat or paddle board. Hang out at its sandbar or head south to Tavernier Creek which cuts through from ocean to the “bayside” (Gulf of Mexico) just minutes south of our channel. Discover the Atlantic coastline and its boat-accessible restaurants, or head out for a day of lobstering (in season) or world-famous fishing!
For those who prefer to stay closer to land, relax at the adjacent Harry Harris Park Beach which offers balmy ocean breezes, endless open-water views, sandy beach and lagoon, boat ramps, fishing, children's playground/ swings, & picnic areas. Kids of every age can find something to do! We are within minutes of shops and restaurants, as well as dolphin research center or Theater of the Sea sea life shows and entertainment and Pennekamp park!
After a day exploring the beach or reefs, come back to your own piece of paradise; unwind on our screened veranda or enjoy Florida’s colorful sunsets from a hammock or Adirondack chairs with a cold drink in your hand! For those cooler winter evenings, sit back and relax at our easy to start propane fire pit! We have spotted manatees, tarpon and tropical parrot fish, and snapper below our dock; and we frequently see osprey and great white heron who fish for their dinner in our area.
This private tropical estate is gated and secure; the double lot with grassy lawn provides room to set up a badminton set or relax amid Florida’s diverse foliage. Though we can fit up to 6 adults with space for 4 kids, the house works best with 1-2 couples who desire a relaxing quiet vacation. Begin your morning on the front porch as you watch the sunrise and sip your cup of coffee with ocean views thru the coconut-laden palms. Stroll over to the beach and gaze out at the open Atlantic Ocean as you read a book under a palm tree with your toes in the sand. Cool off in the salt water lagoon steps away at Harris park. Bring or rent a boat to enjoy fishing, diving or water skiing and tubing off of Tavernier Key and the local dive reefs! ( fees apply for usage of boat dockage and extra water) For the water lovers, you can explore the coastline or head out a few miles east to Pickles Reef or Christ the Abyss. The upstairs space 2 bedroom/ 2 bath can sleep 6 ( king master suite, queen guest room w/it’s own bath and full pull out couch upstairs) and ask about adding the separate efficiency apartment/ 1/1 guest quarters for an additional fee if the grandkids can join you for a weekend visit. We strive for 5 stars and want to make your stay pleasant & unforgettable! Please enjoy while respecting our home and neighbors! No overnight guests without prior authorization. This private vacation home is not meant to be a Miami “party house”…if thats what you want please rent elsewhere.

The location made boat launch easy and was very close to the home. Getting to our favorite fishing spot on the reef was a quick trip and the home was cozy and comfortable with everything we needed. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive.

A perfect stay in the Keys
Beth and Dan made sure our stay was everything we expected and more. Not only is this a really nice house, they made sure you had all of the things you need that many people might forget or need an extra day to shop for. Our favorite place was the beautiful screened in patio overlooking the canal and palm trees.

Very relaxing feels like home
We could not have found a better home to celebrate our 50 year anniversary , married 1/12/68 . The lobsters have been plenty and running more on the large size , very nice mango snappers in Cow Pen cut , was checked by a very nice FWC officer who after inspection gave us a signed safety sticker for our wind shield . Harry Harris park is as clean as ever and always very family friendly . Thanks again for the month of Aug. Betty & Dick

Best stay yet.....
We have been doing a 6 week stay in the Keys for the past 5 years and this Island Paradise Home has been our best stay yet. The owners Beth and Dan are very accommodating and go to extra mile to make sure you're stay is a memorable one. This house easily accommodate 6 adults comfortably and is very well stocked with all yours cooking and bedding needs. The house is located on a canal with ocean access less than 1000' away. Great for a quick trip fishing both out and back in. The back dock area is great for relaxing with plenty of room for everyone, and the Harry Harris Park is just steps away from your door. The hot tub is a nice touch with a great view of the ocean. This house is located close to all the Florida Keys has to offer, from restaurants, bars, bait and tackle shops, shopping and attractions it's all just a short drive away. This is truely a gem that will NOT disappoint.

Ideal location for families.
Great location to marina and Pennekamp park by boat on the water. Beach area is a bonus across the street toward Atlantic ocean side. Very luxurious and spacious for two families. All the amenities, fish station, boat dockage, hammock, screened patio, dishwasher, bar refrigerator, master bath privacy, jacuzzi. It was very easy to get to grocery store nearby, plenty of yard space for outdoor activities. Nicely landscaped with coconut trees to read and relax in the hammock by the water. An ideal location to get to other key islands by car and the best snorkeling in the keys off of this area. House is nicely decorated and furniture and beds are very comfortable. Even has washer and dryer. Can't wait to get back to paradise next year.

Paradise Getaway in the Keys
Staying at this beautiful vacation home was truly a gift from God! The location, dwelling, and manicured property are ideal for a family or couple seeking an opportunity to get away from modern life’s accelerated pace, and slow down to appreciate the really important things in life. Less than a minute walk away is the entrance to Harry Harris Park, which offers a splendid view of daily sunrises - all of which were different. The park has a small beach inside a protective rock barrier to the Atlantic Ocean where people can swim or children can play in the sand. The park also serves as an excellent location for early morning walks. The local fish markets enabled us to have fresh fish or shrimp on the gas grill. This property is a convenient distance from Everglades National Park and the South Miami area. It is also well positioned to home-base if your intent is to explore the Florida Keys. The owners Dan and Beth are delightful and caring people. Beth was very responsive to all of our questions.

Extremely Relaxing Stay in the Keys!
We stayed in the Kalbec home for the month of January 2015. The lush tropical foliage and extra large yard with hammock was so inviting...the best landscaped yard in the neighborhood! The home is very cozy with plush towels, comfortable bed, stocked kitchen, and nice furnishings. The spa/hottub directly outside the master bedroom was a real treat. The screened porch was clean with comfortable furniture and where we spent most of our time. Having access to the paddle boards was a real plus as we used them frequently for many adventurous trips to the ocean. Harry Harris park, which is literally outside the front door, was good for walking and enjoying the wide open water views & sunsets. There are many different restaurants with decent food within a short drive...our favorite for Sunday brunch was Made 2 Order. A trip to Bahia Honda was worth a day on the 'untouched' beach...gorgeous water and peaceful atmosphere. Beth & Dan prepared the home well for our arrival, were very easy to deal with and responsive to any concerns/issues. Renting a boat would have been a tremendous addition to the trip.
