About this house rental
Welcome to Sunny Bayfront Villa! This charming Spanish style villa sits on Mission Bay Boardwalk, overlooking the sandy beach and sailboats docked in the bay. This eclectic, spacious home is perfect for one or two families looking for a special place to vacation together. Relax on the furnished private patio, or spread out throughout the house, there truly is something for everyone here!
The owner resides on property 9 months (October-June) of the year in the lock off, studio style bedroom (Bedroom #1). The studio is designed for the owner to live on property but separate from the rest of the home. The owner never shares any of the rentable space with the vacation renters. If your reservation requires use of a sixth bedroom (the studio), we can inquire with the owner to see if she can make it available for guest use as she travels a great deal for her business.
PROPERTY LAYOUT:
Level 1: Kitchen, Breakfast Nook, Den, Living Room, Dining Room, Patio, Full Guest Bath, Laundry and 2 Bedrooms. Bedroom #1 is the Lock out studio with a King and two twin bunks (owner occupied part of the year). Bedroom #2 King
Level 2: Bedroom #3 is the large master suite with a fireplace view from the king size bed with window AC. Bedroom #4 is a bonus room off the master that has a futon style pull out bed. Perfect for mom, dad and little ones...or very, very good friends! The master bath has an open Spanish style shower and a separate tub. Bedroom #5 is a queen bedroom.
Level 3: Another funky bonus room! We consider this room the 6th bedroom with a full bed and a small floor bed that would fit a child under the age of 5 or 6. This room also has access to the 3rd level patio!
The most unique feature of this home is the layout! You’ll have fun just exploring all the different rooms of this home. The central great room allows for time together with a large dining area and great couch in the living room. The bedrooms are all tucked away in different corners of the house to give you privacy when you need. The vaulted atrium style ceiling and wide open entertaining spaces you will never feel cramped or overcrowded, open all five sets of french doors to the tranquil garden patio and you’ll create a lovely summertime indoor/outdoor space. The patio, complete with lush landscaping and plenty of outdoor seating, is perfect for dining “alfresco” or early morning coffee. Kids love playing hide and seek and adults love gathering on the patio and great room.
All of the amenities of this home make it the perfect home away from home vacation. A kitchen and breakfast nook make cooking a "family affair", stocked for meal preparation, dining and entertaining. The den off the breakfast nook is the perfect place to plant the little ones with some cartoons or pull the sofa bed out for an "extra" bedroom! There is a washer and dryer, 3 parking spaces (2 in the garage, 1 in the carport space outside), beach chairs, toys, umbrellas, and even a paddle board to explore the coves of Mission Bay! The living room, den and 4 of the bedrooms are equipped with smart TV, cable and wifi equipped for streaming Netflix.
Relax on the patio while the kids enjoy the beach only steps away. Mission Beach is a very short walk across the street. Enjoy the best of both beaches - the bay or the ocean! A great place for a quiet vacation, but close to the action if you want to get there. Fabulous place to enjoy sunny Southern California.

NOISE/NO PARTIES: Quiet hours are strictly enforced, 10 pm – 8 am per city ordinance. This property has ZERO TOLERANCE for noise, parties or loud music which includes any excessive daytime noise, cursing, yelling or screaming. Fines will be applied for complaints. Drinking games of any kind ie: beer die, pong, funnels etc. and music that is audible past the property line are strictly prohibited. Immediate eviction can result if these rules are broken.
San Diego Municipal Code 59.5.0502 states that at all times; any amplified sound that can be heard 50 feet away from the rented residence is prohibited. Between 10 PM and 8 AM, even normal conversation must be moved inside the rented residence. Per SDMC 51.1004 and California Penal Code 415.2 noise violations can result in fines (Up to $1,000) for property owners and Renters if there are repeated calls for noise violations to one address. Renters will be liable for any and ALL noise violation fines charged to the property owner. Excessive Noise disruptions can result in immediate eviction without the right to a refund of rental fees or security deposits.
Drugs/ Alcohol: Use of illegal/illicit drugs by any Renter, Guest, Occupant or Visitor in or on the grounds is strictly prohibited. Consumption of alcoholic beverages by a minor under 21 years of age is strictly prohibited.
No Smoking of ANY kind: This is a non-smoking property, both in and on the property. A fee of $1,000.00 will be charged for violation of this rule, plus any costs incurred to remove smoke odor or damage. Smoking includes but is not limited to: cigarette, cigar, marajuana, cocaine, incense, or vaping. While Marajuana is legal in the state of California it is NOT allowed on this property.
Properties are subject to exterior patrol by our staff and homeowner. If Renters are causing a nuisance, having a party, acting detrimentally toward the property, breaking the noise curfew or any stated rules and regulations we reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement, without refund, and immediately remove Renters and guests from the property. Absolutely no disturbances are allowed within this home or anywhere on the property premises. We also reserve the right to refuse occupancy if a house party is suspected.
Our neighbors are very, very sensitive to vacation rentals as it affects their right to live in a peaceful environment therefore we will enforce these policies in exchange for the privilege of renting this home as a vacation rental. The City of San Diego has adopted stricter guidelines for vacation properties and bad operators will not be allowed to rent their homes. If the actions of the Renter and their guests are detrimental to our right to rent as a vacation rental we reserve the right to evict and retain any rental fees and/or security deposits and will report abuse to the rental platforms and will take legal action against Renter if their behavior results in loss of permits.
Guest Occupancy:
Occupancy: The maximum occupancy for this Rental Agreement shall not exceed the number stated on the reservation. Only primary Renter and guests accounted for on the reservation are allowed to be on the property.

If excessive cleaning is needed, Renter will be charged $100/hour, or actual charges, whichever is greater.

This property did not disappoint. With 5 bedrooms and plenty of space for gathering it was the perfect choice! The large outdoor patio was perfect for dinners, people watching and viewing the firework's from sea world.

All 14 of us enjoyed this home for our Holiday gathering and found a place to sleep. We took turns preparing meals in the large kitchen. The garage provided parking. We could spread out to the various bedrooms or gather all together in the Living room for gift exchange. Even the weather allowed us to enjoy the patio or outdoor activities.

This rental house is incredible. We loved the location and preferred to be on the quieter bay side with a very easy walk to the ocean side.
We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious the living/dining/kitchen areas were for our large family group who all stayed together. The kids especially enjoyed all the stairs/living spaces and playing hide and seek - hahah!
We never felt cramped or like we were staying on top of each other. We loved the indoor/outdoor living aspect of the house with the large back doors and skylights. We also appreciated that the kitchen was fully stocked as well as ample beach gear for all of us to enjoy. Cindy was great and easy to work with. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the house and are so happy we booked it for our San Diego adventure. Thank you!

This home has great spaces for groups to gather and also to find privacy in the crowd. Easy walk to beach, parks, public transportation, etc. kitchen is well equipped and parking is not an issue, with nearby lot.

-AMAZING LOCATION: Sits on the bay/gorgeous view, 3-minute walk to the ocean, quiet neighborhood, walkable to everything, centrally located with only a 20-minute drive to everything else-but why bother
-AWESOME HOME: 5 bedrooms/4 bath, lots of seating areas, great patio with lots of seating and just a few feet to the bay, big house (with lots of nooks and crannys)-our family of 13 (infants to grandparents) loved it!
-OUTSTANDING SERVICE: Cindy (property manager) was great. From pre booking questions, to booking, to pre travel questions, to on-site questions, Cindy and her team "knocked it out of the park!"
Our entire family would DEFINITELY RECOMMNEND THIS PROPERTY!

The home has a very different and unique layout, with nice furniture. The location is perfect, on the Bay and about one block from the Ocean. LOTS of beach towels, beach chairs, beach toys and lawn games on property for use during one's stay. There were 11 of us, so we appreciated having a 2nd refrigerator in the garage. The home could use some updating, however, specifically attention to the wood throughout, the kitchen cupboards, and the bathrooms. There is lots of indoor lighting and a spectacular bay front patio with 2 large umbrellas and a huge table seating 12! It worked out so well for our big family! We had a fantastic week!

My father-in-law passed away and we wanted to gather the family to say goodbye in San Diego, as that was his favorite place on the planet. This house is so amazing!! My wife and I arrived first and spent 30 minutes just exploring. When you think you've seen the whole house you turn a corner and find more stairs to another room. So unique. Location could not be better. Great bay views. Ocean just across the street. Short walk to Belmont Park. Really just perfect. Cindy was so easy to communicate with and personally completed a final inspection before we arrived and checked in once (via text) the day after we arrived just to make sure we had everything. Entire experience could not have been better except that we eventually had to leave. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay at this house. The house itself is huge and it like a maze inside. The vaulted ceilings with the skylights and the back doors that open to the bay made for the most beautiful setting. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The location is great, very close walking distance to the beach and there are nearby restaurants. We absolutely loved our stay in this home!

Very relaxing. Heat wave in San Diego with humidity. No AC in the house other than the bedrooms which was great. It was not enjoyable when it came time to fix our meals. We had 9 adults and 7 kids. We all spent a lot of time in the water. The oven went out and they were very prompt to get a repair man there and to get it repaired.

First of all we had a great time! It was our 50th anniversary so all ages were there. Cindy was very attentive and provided us with AC units for all the bedrooms. This might not be the home for you if you want central AC. The house has doors you can open which is really cool but so many flies. We did go the hottest week so you might be ok other weeks. The ice maker does not work on fridge and you cannot put all your groceries In there or will overheat. The house is very eclectic, which adds to its charm but you can see into bathroom on stairs. Not all bathroom doors lock. I ended up really liking house but make sure all your needs are met.

We loved the house. Very interesting layout with lots of space. Great living and eating areas. Beautiful natural light and view of the bay. Super quick walk to the beach! We enjoyed the paddle boards and kayak! Home could use some updating but everything is clean and functioning.
The house was very warm at times. There is NOT a central AC system for this home.
The bathroom doors do not lock which was a bit problematic.
We would definitely stay at this property again.

Came down with three of my children and their spouses and six grandchildren and had a wonderful time. Golf, deep sea fishing, the zoo, boogie boarding, playing in the water, bicycle riding, hiking and wonderful meals in your kitchen. Wish we could’ve stayed for another week.

The view from the back and the loft was beautiful. It’s a 5-8 minutes walk to the actual beach and Belmont park which was great. Place needs to be updated. Rooms were more than enough. Only problem was the bathrooms that were outside the rooms had no lock, the rooms were like a maze, it was confusing at first.
