This was the perfect place for my husband and son! We couldnt fish off of the pier the first part of the week d/t eel grass, but it cleared up and we caught a lot at the end! The host was very helpful in pointing out other fishing areas and local attractions. We will definitely recommend this to others

Very nice. We wanted to fish off dock but had hard time due to the grass in water made it almost impossible. We brought my 84 yr old mother she was unable to walk to dock but enjoyed sitting on the very large deck.Over all we enjoyed our stay.

The house was nice and we enjoyed the lake. We came for Rock the South concert. The house was overall clean but a little dusty which can be expected with an older house. Cheryl was very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Abundant wildlife and beautiful trees and wild flowers. Would have hoped to swim and fish but unavailable at this location. There are parks where you can enjoy the water activities. Great restaurant with Southern cooking specialties.

We LOVED our stay! We were all (5 adults, one teenager) comfortable and loved the environment of the house. We even befriended the cutest little boston terrior you ever did see (we nicknamed him Mr. Wellington LOL) He roamed the area like he was security of the neighborhood. He was SO friendly and loving! The lake was beautiful and we launched the kayaks several times over the few days we were there. We even enjoyed the beautiful night sky & roasted marshmallows in the fire pit one night. The only people we saw the entire time was when we went into town, or from a distance on the lake. It was absolutely perfect!

I’ve never stayed anywhere that you’re expected to wash and dry all the towels and linens before leaving. With a checkout time of 10::00 SHARP, this was impossible. I wasn’t going to get up @ 7:00 just to wash linens.
The yard needed attention. Leaves were piled high and it was rainy, and the terrain is uneven. This caused the grounds to be very slippery. The steps into the cabin need something to keep them from being slick as glass. Just be aware if you have any issues walking and/or are a senior.
It took us over an hour to get in. We arrived after dark, there was no light and the instructions to get the key were not made clear, and it took quite a while to get someone on the phone.
The cabin itself was fine except for the swarms of mosquitoes. Even though it’s located on the lake, there could be some traps or bug zappers for the mosquitoes.
It would be nice if part of the deck were covered for rainy days. We were pretty much stuck inside.
The Wi-Fi is iffy at best.
The kitchen is well stocked, the shower to the master bedroom is very nice and safe.
The master bed is comfy, with good pillows.
The view of the lake is nice, even though the neighbors are only an arms length away.
The neighbors dogs run free. They are friendly but poop everywhere which isn’t easy to spot with the heavy canopy of leaves.
Anything you may need is very close, it’s a nice little community.

The property was as pictured, but was even better. It was comfortable, cozy and well accommodated.
Due to lower back issues was most appreciative of the master bedroom and the large bathroom on the main floor.
Truly enjoyed our stay, hope to be able to return and will recommend it to others.
The only draw back was the lack of lighting for the walkway at night.

Another Great Stay
This was our sixth time staying at the A-frame cabin and it never disappoints. The seclusion is unmatched, the scenery is amazing, and the cabin is always inviting. Guntersville is our favorite lake and the A-frame is our favorite location to stay.

Last minute winter get away.
This is our 4th time staying at this cabin and will not be our last. We booked a few days before traveling because of another trip we had scheduled, was canceled. We couldn’t think of any place else we wanted to go but the lake. This cabin has everything you would want from a lake vacation. The water is beautiful, the location is picturesque, peaceful, and quiet. We will be back again, very soon I hope.

The home is large and spacious. Everything you need is there.
Though it looks clean on the surface, it could use a a deep cleaning. Appliances, window blinds, window sills, and under chair cushion need to be cleaned and vacuumed(which we did). There were many spiders and webs. May need pest control. We had to change the battery in the smoke detector. All in all we a nice visit and the neighbors ( and dogs) were very friendly.
The lake is lovely and great for boating and kayaking, not so much for swimming, though we saw people swimming. We just prefer a clear lake.

Peaceful Location
Upon arrival we noticed lots of spiders and webs in the home. Check-in was super easy though, and other than the spiders and webs, it was clean. The home is lovely and has a cozy feel. It's located in a very quiet neighborhood, so it was very peaceful. The owner responded quickly to any messages or questions I had. The kitchen was small but functional. There were plenty of pots and pans, some baking dishes and plenty of plates, glasses and mugs, but there was only one mixing bowl and one serving spoon. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but I feel that the home is more suited for a group that has a boat. The boat dock was way too small for our group. There was really only enough room for 2 or 3 people to fish from the dock. My son caught lots of bream and catfish, though. Before booking keep in mind, Wi-fi is really slow, there's very limited cell service, and the owner requests you wash the towels and bed linens before checkout; Not a big deal to me, but maybe to others.

Maybe we had too high expectations, but we were a bit disappointed in the property. The inside was clean and it had everything that we needed. But it needs some tlc. The house needs pressure washing and trees need groomed. With this, some landscaping, and a new floor, this could be a dollhouse. It has much potential. Evidently there was a recent water leak, i learned, that had caused the floors to buck in several places, so much so inside the front door that when we first walked in I almost fell. There were also some very soft spots which concerned me so we avoided the area when we could. I was afraid the floors were rotting underneath. Cheryl assured me that it is on the cakendarvto be fixed soon. Other than that and the door to the deck being hard to open and close, the house was quite alright. Loved the main floor bath and the bedroom we slept in upstairs. The kitchen was pretty well stocked. The wifi was a little slow. We have Verizon and usually have no issues. It was peaceful and a good, quiet place to relax. We were able to bring our Golden, Roman, who enjoyed the yard and pier. We were disappointed that there was such a small area to fish off of the pier. This was what we wanted to do most while in Guntersvillel, was fish.. The boathouse was on one side and the pier area to fish was about 8 feet wide. There was so much grass that it made fishing almost impossible. But it wasn't just at that property, we found that to be the case everywhere we fished this weekend. The owner, Cheryl, was kind and very quick to respond to any questions or issues. I'm sure the floors and hopefully the back door will be fixed soon. With a face-lift, this property could be a dollhouse!
