Did a solo trip to Oaxaca City for a few days to explore the city’s food, culture and people. Adriana’s place is clean and conveniently located. The communication was clear and very responsive. Adriana’s place is a great value when compared to hotels in the area. I will likely stay at her place again when I return to Oaxaca.

The apartment was clean, safe, and exactly as described. Adriana and her sister were very helpful and even arranged my transportation for a very early return to the airport.

We loved the location; walking distance to downtown, art galleries, restaurants , bars and everything else that the city has to offer; clean, safe and very quiet.
The apartment in located close to some bars and restaurants but you can not hear anything, the unit was built on the back of the house so, no noise at all. The host was very accommodating to all your needs and profe. I would stay there again for my next visit.

Adriana and her sister Selene’s place was absolute fantastic! I stayed 2 weeks and couldn’t have been happier, the apartment was impeccably clean, spacious, bright and airy, and the location was perfect! 1 block away from Santo Domingo Plaza, surrounded by fantastic restaurants, taco stands, wonderful markets, mezcal bars, and all shopping you could want. Plus, Selene was incredibly friendly and responsive, checking in with me every so often to make sure I was ok or didn’t need anything. After living there for 2 weeks I considered it my ‘home’ and will absolutely stay with them again next time I’m in Oaxaca. Gracias Selene, it was wonderful!

We found everything as stated in the description
We would like to say how much we enjoyed our 2-month stay at Casita Camila and what a wonderful experience to be in Oaxaca during Guelaguetza. The apartment location was ideal, being in the heart of the celebration, plus being equi-distant from the upscale Reforma district and the historic Zocalo. Our apartment was completely outfitted and very comfortable. We never lacked for hot water; we couldn't have asked for better towels and bed linens, the mattress was just right and the apartments are very secure. We don't believe there is anywhere in the center of Oaxaca city that one isn't awakened early by church bells with 18 churches in that area but it's part of the charm. Again thanks for an excellent stay and we will recommend Casa Camila to those we know will be visiting Oaxaca. , R & N Davies Merida, Yucatan, Mexico

Central location , clean, comfortable & affordable
After excellent pre arrival communication with Adriana we arrived to find everything just as in the VRBO photos and description. Then upstairs one bedroom apartment is full of natural light, spacious and the kitchen is well equipped for a short or long term stay. The queen bed is comfortable with nice linens. The bathroom has a large shower with plenty of hot water. The setting is off the street, entered thru a small gift shop, safe, secure and quiet. Selene, the on site manager is friendly, helpful and responsive. Rosi cleans twice a week and changes the sheets and towels. There's an excellent laundry a few blocks away, across from a local “Farmers market” with excellent fresh produce, tamales, tortillas, mole, salsas, chicken and pork butchers snd pretty cut flowers.
All the major churches , museums, and sights are within walking distance. To visit the outlying craft villages we took a tour with En Via, a micro lending non profit that has empowered 300 indigenous women to start their own business. We also took a tour with the Oaxaca Lending Librsry, a friendly group of ex pats happy to share their local knowledge. It was a wonderful 16 day visit and we plan to return next year to this beautiful city.

We stayed in Casa Camille for 10 nights and could not have asked for a better place. We were able to walk everywhere. It is located on Garcia Vigil which was blocked off from traffic during the Day of the Dead festival so slit of parades went down the street. Because the apartment in in the back of the building and off the street is was quite. The only thing is if you are a late sleeper then you may not like the church bells ( directly across the narrow street) rings every morning at 6:30. We are not late sleepers so did not bother us. To be honest the church bells ring all over town so may be hard to get away from them. The apartment was very clean and the provided drinking water for you. We would definitely stay there again if we ever hi back.

We stayed at Casa Camila for five nights during a recent visit to Oaxaca. It is extremely well located on Calle Vigil--a short walk to the Zocolo and well situated for the many nearby excellent places to east in the 500 and 600 blocks of Vigil. The Sanchez Pascuas food market is just a couple of blocks away. Apartments are well built and maintained with plenty of room for two people. Most importantly, the off street inner courtyard location provided a lot of peace ad quiet. And the apartments are good value for money.

We stayed for 10 nights in the second floor 'Otono' apartment. It was super clean and nicely furnished. Although we didn't cook any meals the kitchen appeared to be stocked well enough to do so. Drinking water was provided. It has plenty of natural light and big windows to let a nice breeze in, it never felt hot. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom has a nice size closet. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. The wifi is fast and has a good signal, the router is right outside the front door. The location is perfect. It is directly across the street from the Iglesia Carmen Alto which made it very easy to tell the taxi driver to take you to the church instead of giving a street address. The only down side was when the stool was flushed there was a sewer odor but we told them about it when we left and they were going to call a plumber so I would assume that is no longer a problem. All in all an excellent value for the money.

A month in Oaxaca
I was lucky enough to stay in three of the Casita camilla apartments during my month in Oaxaca I found them to be even nicer than the photos and particularly loved their simplicity,Each day arriving home with my purchases , the apartment started to be transformed into my own little Oaxaca,,All three apartments had their own charm. To step off Garcia Vigil street through the solid door into the shop of beautiful local artefacts , through the next locked door to the calmness of the apartments and garden area meant coming home each day from the colourful alive Oaxaca was a safe clean oasis.Well equipped , cleaned by Rosi x 2 per week , and greeted by Selene as you leave or arrive home , a welcome addition to what the apartments provide,.I loved having a blender to make fruit smoothies from daily fresh fruit at the market around the corner, to have a coffee machine , to have constant hot water , and to have a very comfortable bed . I was lucky enough to meet Adriana whom I had dealt with by Internet and she is delightfully gracious and helpful as was Her husband John. I had been recommended the apartments by another New Zealand friend and am so happy to have followed her recommendation,Central Oaxaca , a few steps from wonderful restaurants and St Domingo plaza and a gentle stroll to the Zocalo...and then home to your safe haven..what more could one want.!!,Thankyou Casita Camilla for a wonderful month of rich Oaxacan hospitality,

The location is excellent, very central for all of historic Oaxaca. Also, felt very safe. While the apartment was basically clean do not expect it to look like the pictures in the review. When I think of Mexico I think of bright colours and the apartment is all drab browns and tans, no pictures on the living room walls, no carpet under the coffee table and very worn out bedding and towels. Bedding was changed once a week and only one bath towel and hand towel allowed. I asked for a second bath towel as I have very thick hair - didn't get it. The kitchen is poorly equipped. The only knife other than the 4 table knives was a 10" bread knife - try peeling fruit with that! Rosie, who cleans, doesn't speak English and when Selena came (once) while I was there she whipped through and I didn't know who she was until after she was gone.

Great location, some issues for improvement
As other reviewers noted, the location is perfect. The price is reasonable and email communication with Adriana for arranging the rental was efficient. Other people staying in the complex were super helpful and friendly. However, in the interest of honesty, we need to point out some areas for improvement for the Sol apartment that we rented for a week. 1) better arrangements for checking in and getting the key. Waited over an hour, then had to go phone before someone showed up. Fortunately, other people staying there had a phone number to give us and kindly let us into the front area to wait after checking that we had email confirmation and were bona fide guests. 2) better housecleaning -- the bottoms of our sandals have never been so black and the tiny bath mat in the bathroom was stained and smelly -- we had to put it elsewhere, otherwise the bathroom would have been too stinky. 3) large red ants crawling in the bedroom area and stairs -- fortunately, weren't bitten but killed many. 4) only one outlet in the bedroom so if the very loud fan was on, cannot have the bedside light on. 5) wi-fi signal was very poor. 6) dangerous outlet for fridge -- over the gas stove! No other available outlet. For a short stay, it was ok, but presumably the other units are better, given the reviews and return customers.

Truly Lovely Place
We want to join the chorus of other good reviews and say that Casa Camila is an absolutely lovely place! For the past four or five years, this has been our home base in Oaxaca. It is quiet, super clean, and a great location for exploring the city. Adriana and Selene do a wonderful job with managing the apartments - and Rosi, the housekeeper, is as sweet as can be. On the one hand, we don't want this secret to get out; on the other, Adriana and Selene need to be recognized for their stellar efforts in creating such a comfortable and safe place in downtown Oaxaca. Note: If you want to party hard, this is not your place. If you want a quiet getaway in an ideal location in Oaxaca, this is it.

A great Oaxaca choice
We have stayed at Casita Camila for four or five years now -- it's always wonderful to get there. The people are friendly; the rooms clean and well-furnished, and the location is the best you could ask for: six or eight blocks from the center of town, close to good restaurants, yet quiet at night when you need it. Management and staff have always been kind, friendly, and accommodating. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Location could not be better
We had a fabulous time and could walk out the door of our completely comfortable accommodations and be in the thick of things in Oaxaca. And back any time without losing the pace. And the best street food in the city is directly across from the front door!

Best value in town: Unbeatable location at a great price!
We spent the month of September in Oaxaca and stayed at Casa Camila the entire time. We felt extremely lucky to have found this vrbo rental. The price was reasonable, the apartment was spotless and well-attended to by the delightful and helpful lady who kept it that way with her twice-a-week cleaning schedule, and most of all, the location was not just good, it was outstanding. It seems that almost all of the most popular restaurants are situated within a few blocks of Casa Camila. My husband popped down to the bakery most mornings to pick up a freshly baked loaf of ciabatta..(all of 13 pesos!) In the evenings, we would saunter over to Santo Domingo Plaza.,,maybe a two minute stroll..and see what adventure awaited us..there was always something exciting to see or participate in ..or buy! We also spent plenty of time at the Zocalo and the Alameda. If you are music-lovers, you will find it everywhere, especially off the Santo Domingo Plaza and around the Zocalo. Dance ( like the incredible Danzon), concerts, famous performers, along with the mariachis and marimbas and marching bands. There are two close-by hospitals and plenty of well-stocked farmacias nearby.
A wonderful apartment arrangement, a wonderful location and a wonderful and exciting city to enjoy!.
We would happily come back to Casa Camila for future visits.

great location
Had a fabulous stay in Casita Camila for two weeks. The bed was nice, plenty of space, good kitchen with all of the amenties, minus a microwave. The place was clean and quiet and the owner and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was great, a two block walk to Santo Domingo and a five block walk to the Zocalo. Would definitely recommend to friends and hope to be back again. Only downfall were no microwave, and no place to park our car. We did find a secure parking lot a few blocks from the apartments.

We stayed here for a month
We rented this apartment for a month last fall. The location was perfect for us. Proximity to markets & restaurants was wonderful. Short walk to the Zocalo, coffee house, bakery etc.
The place was clean, good hot water, and had internet access. The bed was comfortable and had good blankets. (It was cold a few days that we were there) The unit had modern clip together flooring that must have gotten damp because it was beginning to curl.
All in all, a well priced, well located apartment for an extended stay. I will stay there the next time we are in Oaxaca for an extended stay.

Perfecto
As a single woman traveling alone, I felt safe at Casita Camila. The apartments are located very close to the town square, so it was easy to walk most places. The apartments are also quite and clean.
