While this house has amazing lake views, there is no beach. Feel free to enjoy the fire pit (firewood not provided but there is plenty of free driftwood on the dike). You can also walk a short distance to Reno Beach.
If a beach is what you’re looking for, hop in your car and drive six miles down to Maumee Bay State Park. There you’ll find the Lake Erie beach, a nice beach on a shallow man-made lake, a golf course, nature center, and boardwalk.
Howard Marsh, Magee Marsh, Pearson Park, and Ottawa State Park are also close by and perfect for birding or just exploring.
If nature isn't your thing, a 40 minute drive will get you to the Put-in-Bay ferry in Port Clinton or an hour drive will get you to Cedar Point. Your family might also enjoy the Toledo Zoo or the Toledo Museum of Art.
Fishermen are just a mile from Meinke’s Marina where you can launch your boat or rent a charter. There’s also a bait shop with a fish cleaning station close by.
We have a two person kayak and multiple bikes.
You can stock up on food at Walmart or Kroger located in Oregon or drive (or walk) the mile to Jack’s Market where you can find just about anything you’ll need.
We love our house and have spent many days relaxing here. We hope your family will love it as well.

Outstanding lakefront property with amazing views, spacious layout, well-stocked kitchen, and wonderful deck overlooking Lake Erie.

Place is so spacious, well equipped, suited eight adults perfectly, well stocked kitchen, games, views are breathtaking! Owners easy to contact, and professional. One thing, unless you are young and can handle the rocks down to the water, fishing is not optimal, lol, but there are some near by public access areas that are nice!

Everything about the property was great. I appreciated how well the house was prepared to fully meet our needs. Rooms stayed dark at night (hallelujah!), the bedding was soft and comfy, and the kitchen had all the essentials. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

We stayed at this location for our vacation and the house is amazing. It was clean and plenty of room. The view from the porch is priceless and we enjoyed fishing and watching the eagles fly by every morning. We will definitely be back.

10 of us moved in for 4 nights. We would have happily stayed longer. The view off the deck was spectacular. The house was attractively and comfortably furnished and had many considerate amenities. We found out that we really enjoy putting together jigsaw puzzles. Who knew?

I felt the homeowner cares about their home and the people who stay there. It was a wonderful experience. The only adverse comment I could possibly make is dealing with the Mayflies. Certainly not anyone’s fault. Thanks for providing such a wonderful home for our visit.

Overall was a nice house. Had an issue with a leaky toilet which we never used it after it leaked really bad,I notified the owner with a very quick response and was told they knew about from the prior renter and had a plumber coming on out last day after we leave. My family felt we should have been notified of the issue before arriving. Mayflies we horrible so we weren't able to do anything outside at all.

Great location!

Four of us spent a week at this house in mid May 2024 primarily for the local birdwatching, which was excellent. It is just 15-20 minutes away from Magee Marsh and many other birding hotspots.
The house itself is excellent, too. If it is available for your group, grab it! You can’t beat the location and its features.
The house is relatively new, spacious and very well laid out, and in a very quiet location although it can be just a little tricky finding it the first time. Trust your GPS!. The kitchen appliances are also relatively new and they all work!
Lots of extra amenities you don’t normally find at a VRBO, including a Keurig and a coffee maker, wine opener, gas grill, dishwasher, washer and dryer, air conditioning and heat that works extremely well, excellent water pressure, plenty of glassware (including wine glasses), dishes and cookware for at least 8 people, a blender, a large crockpot, a luggage rack in each of the four spacious bedrooms and a ton of electrical outlets in the bedrooms and common areas which makes charging your phones, laptops and camera batteries a breeze.
There is a Kroger and Walmart within an easy 20 minute drive. There are some good restaurants within a 10 to 30 minute drive. The lighthouse at Marblehead is an hour away in Sandusky. It is also just an hour away from Detroit’s main airport.
The owners are very helpful and prompt with their emails. If I ever return, I sure hope this gem is available.

Great place with lots of space and a great view of the lake. Very close to all the nearby outdoor birding locations and provided an excellent base to get around.

The house was absolutely perfect for our gathering of 8 people. The openness of the main floor made visiting easy but had enough different areas to allow for smaller group activities and quiet time. We enjoyed the lake front views and the spectacular porch.
Thanks for everything!

We had 4 couples. Each of us had our own bedroom & access to a bathroom. We made meals there. Kitchen was well stocked. There is a large table in the dining area allowing all of us to have dinner together. The master bedroom was really large with a balcony.
Loved everything!

We had a wonderful family reunion at this beautiful house. It was extremely clean, and had so much space for everyone. The evenings on the deck with the waves hitting the shore were so relaxing.
The area is remote with not very many food options, but we knew this ahead of time, brought our own food and shopped at the local grocery store, and made use of the well equipped kitchen. The kids enjoyed the beach a short walk away. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay and we hope to be back again!

Our getaway at this location was amazing. The view, the house, the owner, just everything. We had children with us and although there was no beach they had a blast fishing off the rocks and playing (with adult supervision of course). We had a few days of rain but we managed to make the best of it. Highly recomment this amazing beautiful home on Lake Erie

WOW!!! This house opens up to Lake Erie views like no other property I’ve ever stayed in. Pet friendly was necessary for our family and this house had easy care surfaces throughout & walking on grassy levy. So surprised by the well stocked kitchen and pantry. Kitchen equipment for any preparation. BUT the serving pieces were top notch. Fiesta ware and the best grade of cutlery made our creations shine! Choice dinner locations throughout! The dining area seats 8, sun room 4. Deck 6+ with a table, chaise lounges & wrap around sectional with rollout awning. A comfortable spot for everyone! The kids loved ringing the dinner bell. We set the grill out toward the steps to enjoy the view. Everyone loved the suspended Lounger, a napper’s paradise. Rooms are very comfortable. The main suite is spacious for morning yoga, or coffee with sunrise. The in suite bathroom features a walk-in shower, double vanity & walk in closet. Only argument-deciding who stays in this room. Upstairs bedrooms featured queen beds and a shared hallway 4 pice bathroom. Good quality linens throughout. The kids room in the back corner features both sunrise & sunset views. The cupboard is stocked with games, jig saw puzzles and books. If you forgot something don’t fret chances are your host thought of it.
My advice: arrive, explore each cupboard find the binoculars, DVDS in TV cabinet, bicycles, corn hike and kayak in garage. Bring fewer clothes use the first floor laundry & RELAX listening to waves

Easy check in , great detailed information in the handbook , owners responce to all emails , everything as listed and more , even a surprising welcome plate with wonderful snacks we all enjoyed. We wanted for nothing , you name it , its provided! The views from every window of the lake was amazing . From the spacious downstairs , cozy game room, accomodating kitchen to the enjoyable deck to cozy beds , we loved it all ! We enjoyed fishing off of the rocks and caught huge catfish. Our adult children , rated it a 10 out of 10 and want to come back !
Our only complaint would be the linens / towels did not smell clean and fresh , may be not best practice to have the guest prepare laundry for next guest . Understand the time constraint but just a suggestion .
Thanks for hosting this amazing house .

We were a group of birders. This well equipped home was near several great places for birding. We spend much of our time at Magee Marsh which was about 12 to 15 minutes away. There are many birding opportunities in the immediate area. Home setting was very quiet and a peaceful place to recap the day's experience.

Grandparents, uncle, parents and 4 year old. Pleanty of space. WELL STOCKED KITCHEN. The view is everything and more. We were the only ones on the private beach, granted it was October but almost 80 degrees! The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were spacious.

Property was lovely, appointed nicely
We had trouble finding carry out food as we are vegetarian...hated to rely on pizza.🤷🏼♂️

Awesome 4th of July Weekend!
We loved the house, the view and the sound of the waves!! We celebrate the 4th with a girls trip and this year there were 10 of us. The house was so spacious that we never felt crowded or cramped. The 3 full baths were a definite plus. Everything was very clean and modern. I can’t say enough good things about it. I would definitely stay again!!

Perfect Getaway!
Perfect getaway, sums up this peaceful, beautiful property that is a very well maintained and roomy home with amazing views of Lake Erie. The communication with the property manager were nothing short of excellent. Leading up to your stay and when we had a couple of questions upon arrival, we received prompt helpful responses. Our group loved the home and will most certainly return for another visit.
