Location was great , kids loved the pool.
5.0 / 5.0
My Family and I, 13 total, spent a week at this fabulous property. There was plenty of room to accommodate us. The pool area was beautiful and super relaxing and the house was supplied with everything you would ever need. Probably the best thing is the location. Very private yet a 15 minute drive to all that the Saugatuck area has to offer.
5.0 / 5.0
The owner was very communicative during our stay. House was great and had great space for all of us. The outdoor pool area was beautiful, and the location to shopping and beaches were very convenient. Would def return to this house for future vacations! Thank you for your hospitality!!
5.0 / 5.0
What an amazing place for a family of 15. The house was great, comfortable, and cleverly decorated!! Plenty of sleeping room for all and with a group this size, many little areas for the kids to be by themselves if needed. The basement game room was well used. The fam enjoyed game time!
Our favorite house attraction was the pool! Such a good size and deep! Lots of diving contests this week and for the non-divers, plenty of swim rafts. Fennville is a great location. Close to Holland and Saugatuk for great shopping, and fine wineries for tastings!!
Finally, Rick was amazing to work with. He always responded promptly with any questions I may have had!!
Thanks again for a wonderful weekend packed full of family memories!!

Great place for family gatherings. Lower level was a blast with all the fun options for competitions on the pool table and ping pong table!! !

We had a great visit at the house. Had plenty of space for what we needed to do!
3.0 / 5.0
First, I want to say that this is a very beautiful home. We enjoyed our stay, despite the dirtiness of the home.
There were dirty dishes in the cupboard. There was coffee left in the coffee makers that were put away. There was a pan in the oven with food on it. There are lots of crumbs of food in the silverware drawers, and the cupboards. There were dishes in the cupboard with dried food on them.
Our socks were ruined by the filthiness of the floor. It was very dirty and sticky.
The upstairs bathroom toilet was not working well we had to use a bucket to flush the water down.
There was urine dried to the toilet seat, and the back of the toilet seat when you put the lid down in one of the bathrooms
We had trouble with wasps in the home that we were killing daily. As well as several stink bugs.
A couple of the bed sheets were not washed, and it was very obvious.
We did not bring these things to the property managers attention while we were there, we just took care of the things that we needed to and could take care of. We did not want us to waste our weekend together with the hassle of coordinating things with the property manager to have things cleaned properly or taken care of.
I have to repeat that this home is a very very beautiful home and would be so awesome to rent in the summertime when you could
Utilize the outdoor area, but it definitely needs to be taken care of better!

Great place and great amenities!
5.0 / 5.0
Enjoyed our stay at the property. There were a few mishaps in the beginning, a minor power outage and there were no crib sheets as we were initially informed there would be. We also noticed spider webs in the basement. Property manager was quick with responding and we made do with the situation. It would be helpful to update the house pdf regarding the electronics being Bluetooth, and an update to the sectional sofa. We were also unable to locate the outdoor hammock. Nonetheless, it was a nice family vacation and the home was equipped with everything you need for a pool or beach day. Easy check in and out.
4.0 / 5.0
The pool was the best part of our stay! The kids LOVED it. The homes's property/layout is beautiful. There are multiple seating areas outdoors and indoors. Our family of 10 weree able to sit around a table together which is fabulous. The kitchen has everything needed to cook, bake or do whatever:-) The way the home is decorated is artsy and appealing. The home has great "bones", although the layout is choppy. We did need to wash two sets of bedding, as we found two small bugs and a few small pieces of food within those beds. There are some updates needed (new sectional upstairs and some electric wiring (flickering lights in master bath and a few other places)
The housekeeper and Rick were super responsive.
I'd definitely rent this house again.
I'd love to know what brand of sheets were on the master bed. They felt like butter....
4.0 / 5.0
We had a great time gathering as a family (7 adults, 6 children) at this property. The location is perfect and the house has a lot to offer. The large pool area is the best part! Unfortunately for us, the fire pit is on the other side of the tall fence outlining the pool - we didn’t feel comfortable using it at night because the children were all young – we didn’t want to leave them inside that far away (it is a large property) where they wouldn’t see us if they woke up and needed us. The basement bedroom is exactly as described on the website, but should not be listed as a bedroom. We were disappointed to find there were no egress windows in the basement and did not feel comfortable having the intended family sleep down there as planned; in the end we did so because we could not come up with a different configuration in the house for the parents/children to be in the same room. The top bunk bed is close to the ceiling and I was told my 7-year-old grandson could not even sit up in the upper bunk as there were pipes running directly overhead (also making it noisy when someone flushed upstairs). Finally, while the house in general is very nice, it should be noted that the pictures were taken some time ago and, in some instances, do not reflect the furnishings that are there now.
4.0 / 5.0
We hosted 8 adults and 6 children under the age of 5 for a summer family gathering. This home is spacious and comfortable enough that everyone had their own space, yet we were able to enjoy the common areas together. The backyard is definitely the highlight and where we spent most of our time, with plentiful seating and umbrellas. We were surprised that the pool has a fairly small shallow area (maybe one quarter) with the rest quite deep; this was only a concern for our group because of the little ones. The large fire pit was also very nice with lots of seating. We loved the thoughtful and eclectic decor, very unique! The kitchen was fully stocked and even had a good variety of spices. I understand that routine maintenance and upgrades are done in the slower parts of the year, and the home will really shine after those improvements (new couch, little repairs, etc). Yolanda, property manager, was very communicative and helpful. Follow up with Rick, the owner, was quickly answered and all questions addressed. The towns of Douglas and Saugatuck are very close (within 15 minutes) and we visited both, as well as Oval Beach. Fennville is a quaint small town with a grocery store, hardware store, cute restaurants and excellent ice cream! Everyone enjoyed the stay!

Pictures don’t do this properly justice, the house is cozy and inviting but felt like we had plenty of space for 7 adults and 7 children all under the age of 13. We hit a few snags along the way with some smaller items in the house that needed fixed, but Yolanda the property manager responded quickly, even showing up with two toasters that day after we informed her the one in the house wasn’t working. I would happily recommend this property to someone and I would return!
4.0 / 5.0
Pleasant environment. Beds comfortable. Walls a little thin, as you can here all that is going on in other rooms. Pool was fun, but dirty...the owner seemed to he having trouble with the pollen flying around. Great location.
A bug or rwo in the garage fridge, and a half bottle of vodka left on the cupboard and a pan of 30 hard biscuits in the oven left from previous users. Overall, 4+ rating
3.0 / 5.0
The location was ideal and the property was perfect for our family gathering. However, I found the listing pictures and actual a bit misleading. There were no extra blankets anywhere and the only bed coverings were the single comforters and it was chilly. Plus I had to hunt all over for the bedding for the pullouts (one was in a steamer trunk). Also, for what we paid the place needs to be fixed up, ie furniture, bedding (pillows were not good). The backyard grounds were weedy and not maintained. Overall, the layout was great and the outdoor area was perfect for our family and their kids.
5.0 / 5.0
3rd year visiting Michigan to hit the slopes. This house had plenty of room for our 3 families to spread out. Kitchen was stocked well and had all the amenities needed. Great place!
5.0 / 5.0
It was an amazing cabin! Very spacious. We had everything we needed. It was nice to have utensils and other utilities ready to use. The living room was amazing for gathering everyone together to spend time. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
4.0 / 5.0
His house definitely has a lot of great features and the size is wonderful for large groups. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't working which is one of the main reasons we chose this home. The only other thing was the basement had a very strong damp smoke smell from the fireplace which did come up to 1st floor as there is no door in the basement. Don't get me wrong, this is a great house and the kitchen is so well stocked. 2 large refrigerators was a bonus too as we had 3 families staying. It also has 5 bedrooms and a library with a pull out couch, not 6 actual bedrooms.
5.0 / 5.0
We had 3 generations together in the house during a big snow. We had room to spread out and room to gathee around the wood fireplace. It was a terrific experience. Pool and ping pong in the basement + a dry bar we didnt use. Main floor had shabby sheek tables, etc. Huge sectional in one room. A reading room, a game table. Next time id like to use the pool more than the fireplace.
3.0 / 5.0
Property was great but unfortunately the heat went out on us the second night. The host did send maintenance to fix but we're unable to do so. They also offered another property to say at. But in the middle of a snow storm at 8pm after a couple cocktails it was a bit of a hassle and seemed unsafe to pack everything up and move.other than that great place.
5.0 / 5.0
We enjoyed this house. We were stuck inside due to rain most of the time, but we had a lot to do in the house between games and game room.
5.0 / 5.0
Everything from communication, to check in, to the house it self was amazing. Will definitely be back! Gorgeous in the fall.
5.0 / 5.0
Had a wonderful time, would definitely visit again! Perfect for a small (8-10 person) long weekend.
5.0 / 5.0
Wonderful house, great pool and hot tub, lots of room inside, pool toys for kids, lots of chair and umbrellas by pool, great location.

We rented this house for a week in September and enjoyed our stay! The house was as advertised and had extra ammendities were not expecting. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The property was secluded but close to attractions.

Lovely property and pool
4.0 / 5.0
The house was the prefect size for our large family. So glad we had a pool Lake Michigan was 55 degrees to cold for the kids. Great location!
5.0 / 5.0
All went smoothly. Lots of amenities.
1.0 / 5.0
The interior of this house was old and unmaintained. The furniture looked as if it was from the junk yard. It was worn and greasy. Rugs were threadbare, grease stained and very dirty. Lamps were broken and unrepared. Sofa bed frames were bent and broken making the bed uncomfortable to sleep in. The dishwasher fell out of the cabinet. A refrigerator door was broken and needed repair. The kitchen sink was plugged. The owner implied it was our fault. But the plumber said it was a broken drain due to the grass on the snake he used to clean out the pipe. The TV base was broken and propped up with books. There was a dead mouse in the play room basement in clear sight and should have been seen and picked up by the cleaning crew. Screens were falling off the windows. Window treatments were old and broken. Windows were dirty. Views of the pool area were blocked by the dirty windows. Gaps in the door frames allowed swarms of flies into the house. Food had to be covered at all times to keep the flies off. The master bedroom screen door was torn weathered and needed repair. The back door exit to the pool area had a bees nest in the frame. Two guests were stung. An exterminator was sent and killed the bees and wasps nests but we had to stay in the house the whole day unable to use the pool due to the angry bees and wasps. Pool equipment was left out that we had to pick up ourselves or trip over. Grease from the barbecue area was splashed over adjacent walls and pavement, staining everything. The grease was rancid making a stench and the patio unusable. The barbecue was not hot enough to cook the hamburgers and hot dogs. The tables on the patio were old, faded, rusty metal tables. Again these were unusable. The pump for the pool made a noise sounding like it was about to fail. The refrigerator in the garage was warm and unusable.
Nearby horse farms are the source of the flies. There is an occasional smell from the horses. That is unbearable.
I think the owner of this house has lost his pride in this property. It’s as if nothing new has been added for ten years. I feel insulted by the conditions I found based on the amount of rent I paid for this house.
VRBO should be ashamed of collecting the fee for this house. They should have done an inspection and provided some value for the amount of fees they charge the renter. In my opinion they have done very little to deserve the fee.
Sincerely
Roger Wroblewski

House was clean and decorated super cute. Most of our time was spent in the backyard. Any issues that arose were addressed quickly . Would stay here again.

Excellent stay!
This property was an excellent match for our small family reunion. We had 8 adults and 7 children. The pool was a big hit and we had so much fun at Saugatuck Beach and walking around the beautiful town of Saugatuck. Blueberry picking was a joy, as well. Highly recommend this property!

Our family vacation
We have stayed at this home several years and really like the convenience of having a pool right there. The house size and accommodations fit the 15 of us very well. The owner and property manager were very easy to work with and were quick to reply to any questions we had and seemed very eager to see that our week was a great vacation for us.

Review
The pool and backyard were amazing! The kitchen and family room were perfect for all 18 of us to gather. Yolanda was also amazing responding immediately to questions or concerns. Overall we had a fabulous time, the property was beautiful but could use a few upgrades. We would consider renting the house again.

Great house
This house was perfect for a family getaway. The kids loved the pool so much that we just stayed at the house more than expected. Really well stocked home compared to most rentals too. The grill and extra pool towels were definitely great to have. Super close to the lake and boating options too!

Peaceful property
Allegan Acres is a large property that is very private and peaceful. Yolanda was very responsive for any questions or issues. The pool and pool deck area and fire pit are the best features. The hot tub is old and the jets are weak. The house is spacious and clean but it is much more rustic than the pictures. The furniture and cabinets are beat up. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans and appliances. We liked the little town of Fennville but drove to Saugatuck or Holland for most activities. Both are 15-25 minute drive.

Wonderful Stay with Family
Our family of 12 people, and 4 small dogs, had a great at Richard’s house. We all especially enjoyed the pool and hot tub; and the kitchen/dining/ great room area. It was wonderful to be in a quiet rural setting surrounded by many great trees and beautiful shrubs. Although the house needed some minor detail attention this did not detract from our delightful stay. Thank you Richard!

Nice Property
The property was easy to find and conveniently located. Fenced in yard was nicely landscaped and great for our dogs. The house is nice, however is in need of a little upkeep as some of the more used items are showing signs of wear. Overall, good property with easy check in and would definitely stay again.

Good stay
Great house, bigger in person than in pictures! Only issue was the oven wouldn't hear past 250F.
