You’ll find good food, drinks and live music at the Groveland Hotel and the Hotel Charlotte.
For coffee and nature lovers the best spot is Mountain Sage further down the Hwy 120.

Groveland Museum
Not only was Groveland a key town during the Gold Rush, it was also the base of operations when the O'Shaughnessy Dam was being constructed to form Hetch Hetchy Reservoir that would provide San Francisco with a stable water source.
The Groveland Yosemite Gateway Museum located next to the local library was founded to keep the many stories of the community (natural and cultural) alive, and share them to the many visitors who come through the area.

Rainbow pool a secret local spot is located nearby off the Hwy 120. You can relax on a warm rock or swim in the pool while watching people jump into the waterfall pool .
Hike the many trails

Hiking is the #1 visitor activity in Tuolumne County after all. There are many trails to choose with a great selection of difficulties and terrains, such as the Carlon Falls Trail and Wapama Falls Trail at Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. You can choose to explore yourself, but a great option is to take a guided hike to find the true hidden gems of the area.

We have been renting in PML for 20+ years, and this home is truly one of the best we’ve stayed in. The owner, Megan, is the most gracious host I’ve ever dealt with. She really cares that you enjoy your stay, and goes above and beyond!
Our family of 9, including two little ones had everything needed and more. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for larger families. You can tell there’s been a lot of thought put in to make it feel like home.
There were deer roaming, just off the back deck which the kids loved! We had the best time, and can’t wait to return. Thank you for sharing your home, Megan!

Our family of 9 (ages 2-70) spent 5 nights here. Megan was very responsive to the few issues we had. The house was spacious enough for all of us. The master bedroom large closet worked well for having the pack-n-play setup in a very quiet location. We enjoyed the pool table. It was nice to have supplies such as ziploc bags and aluminum foil. The grocery store is close by and well stocked. The lake was WONDERFUL... It was a hot week so we went twice a day. The older kids enjoyed the platform for jumping off. The 2 year old found the warmer water and lack of waves wonderful for getting comfortable with the water. There were plenty of beach towels at the house and sand toys as well. We bought a couple of rafts/floats from the Marina store. They would have been cheaper from Target so get them there beforehand. We took the free water taxi for fun to see the rest of the lake. We used the fishing pier for fishing, a few went horseback riding and we used the golf course as well. The pool is not open for guests until noon and was quite crowded, so we only went there once. We would consider going here again.

House had everything we needed and close to the lake and local supermarket and restaurants. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Queuing up to enter the neighborhood was annoying. Also having to park on the street at the weekend down by the lake. We went to Hetch Hetchy reservoir although the hike was too long for the baby and 3 year old. We all enjoyed Rainbow Pool and Columbia State Park. A few of our family members went to Yosemite Valley and enjoyed the spectacular views. Overall it was a great vacation and everyone was comfortable in this beautiful home. Thank you for allowing us to stay and thanks for the complimentary wine. I would suggest giving your guests at least two door keys instead of the one.

A lovely cabin in a nice neighborhood. The kids enjoyed the basketball hoop while adults enjoyed the patio. We appreciated the location as it is nearby a local lake, super market, ice-cream shop, etc and it is not that far of a drive to get into Yosemite National Park — which is amazing!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The home was well appointed with everything we needed. All we brought was our food and clothing. The surrounding community (HOA) had a great swimming lake, snack bar (ideal for teenagers), lake boat rides, fun fishing, a pool and of course Yosemite National Park was only 1 1/2 hours away. The town of Groveland is a cute as can be and the nearby grocery store was convenient. My group of 10 definitely wants to return. Thank you Megan. This was a great stay!

We had kids from 6 to 15 in our group, and they all had a blast. So many toys and things to do on the property, tons of games, and the wrap around porches were great for tag. Very well stocked and maintained, this house was perfect for our group.

Well, the property is fine, but I had to pay an extra $44 to enter for each car, I think it would be a good thing if they mentioned it before booking,Besides, you must clean, wash and take out the trash when you are supposed to go on vacation.I definitely don't recommend it.

Weekend getaway
We had a nice stay with great weather. The house was close to the marina and an easy drive to the other amenities at the property. For Memorial Day weekend we were expecting more crowds but it wasn’t too bad on the lake and we enjoyed the trip! The house was very comfortable and met our needs perfectly!

Perfect for a family vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is large, which is what we needed for my wife and me, a daughter and her husband and two children (ages 3 and 6), and another grown daughter. It's also easy to find, straight down the street from the community entrance, about halfway to the lake. The place was extremely well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, mugs, blender, toaster--and on and on. Lots of sheets and towels and bed coverings too. The play area in the back--a jungle-gym, two slides, a swing set--as well as the pool table, foosball game, child's train set, and books galore in the downstairs room of the house--made for a fantastic stay for our grandkids. Also, the owner, Megan, was easy to get ahold of when we had questions and very responsive. The only drawbacks that might make a difference for some people is that the lights in the overhead fans in the living and dining rooms were too dim, and the light bulbs in places throughout the house needed replacing--if only so the same type of bulb was in multi-bulb fixtures, like in the bathrooms. Also, the carpeting in the upstairs hallway and bedrooms was quite worn, and the place was not as clean as we would have wanted. (Some dishes in the cupboards needed re-washing.) Still, we're giving this place 5-stars. The positive features far outweighed the not-so-positive. We had a great time, especially given the size and age ranges of our group (3 years to 72 years!)

Fathers Day weekend
We had the best time on our trip to Pine Mountain Lake! First off let me just say that the pics do not do this rental justice. It is much bigger than it seems online. We came up with my older parents and our kids ranging fro 22-4. There was something for everyone to do. We really loved that the downstairs space for the kids. It gave the adults some quiet and separation during down time. I have stayed at several rentals for vacay and this one was BY FAR the most stocked. There are plenty of pots, pans, dishes, towels, bedding etc. We also really enjoyed the close location to the entry gate. It made navigating our activities really easy. We were bummed it was so hot this weekend as we did not get to enjoy the outdoor space as much as I would have liked but man if we decide to come back to visit PML we would def rest here again. So many wonderful memories were made ♥️
PS Megan was super helpful and responded in a timely manner whenever I had a question! 10/10

Perfect family-friendly getaway location
This house worked out great for us when we went to Groveland for the weekend. We were 8 total (4 adults and 4 kids). There were definitely enough beds, lots of games and toys to keep the kids occupied, and is part of a lovely lake resort neighborhood. Our only criticism was the cleanliness but we spoke with the owner who is looking into why her cleaners did not do a good job. Hopefully this will be resolved for the next renters. The owner is very responsive so that was great too. I definitely would recommend this rental.

Pine Mountain Lake -Spacious House
My family enjoyed our stay at this property among the pines. Situated centrally in a very picturesque location. We were fortunate enough to see deer and geese during the days we spent here. Communication with the owner was excellent. Megan answered all our questions and gave helpful suggestions about local recreational activities that might be fun for our kids. The house is multi level and very roomy. The back patio/yard has a couple swings, playhouse, slide, toys and a climbing structure. Downstairs has a game room with bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs has the master, additional rooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was fully stocked and very clean. The laundry room was super convenient. There were plenty of fresh linens and towels. The owner was thoughtful in providing little extras for guests like: camping chairs, picnic blanket/supplies, beach toys for the kiddos, beach towels etc. The house is about a mile from the main marina where we enjoyed swimming and a picnic. Lovely and comfy home amongst some gorgeous pine trees. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Family Home
Although I booked the property for one night I really enjoyed the home and the area. So many toys and activities for the kids which they loved. The host was very communicative and helpful throughout the process (considering this was my first time using Vrbo). I would definitely recommend especially if you have kids because there's not many homes that can provide the same amenities. Will for sure book again in the future with a longer stay.

Awesome weekend
This property was very nice!! Has so many amenities we couldn’t enjoy them all! The poker table was useful as we held a poker tournament! The kitchen was nice and very much used! Maybe a few more pans to use would be nice! Overall the beds were comfortable and spacious rooms! I really loved the Jetted Tub! However the tub stopper may need to be replaced! It wouldn’t fasten to the plug! This home is great with great scenery and the two decks are awesome!! Enjoyed our time

Okay Property, Great Owner
We stayed at this property so that we could visit Yosemite. It took about 45 mins to the gate. The owner of the property was wonderful and allowed us to do an early check-in at no charge. The property itself, however, had a lot to be desired. Some of the kitchen chairs were broken. One of the beds in the room with two fulls was broken and the mattress tipped to the right and sagged in the middle. One of the tubs had no stopper to actually take a bath (we had small kids so that was important to us). We stayed in November and when we reached the property it was 55 degrees in the house. It took the full day of the heater being on to warm up. Every time we came home in the evenings, the home was cool despite us keeping the heater on. In general, the home is just dated. That being said, it was listed at a discount to all the others in the area so I guess we got what we paid for. All this being said, the owner seemed very nice.

Wonderful Home and Location
Our family had such a wonderful trip. The house was just as we expected. We loved the game room, spent hours playing pool or just sitting around for family time.
The location is wonderful! Its about 20 minutes from Rainbow Pools a gorgeous waterfall. Also, it’s seriously a couple minutes drive down to the community lake area. We brought charcoal and BBQ and relaxed in the water.
We thank you for opening your home to us and cant wait to come back next year.

PML Review
This is a great property for groups/families. The downstairs is set up nicely for play with all kinds of toys and a DVD player with great selection of movies. Upstairs was great for the adults to spend time. The kitchen had everything we needed. Megan is very responsive and accessible. The lake was nice, but limited activities due to the COVID situation. Day trips to Yosemite were very convenient and a favorite of the entire family.

This is a great place for two or three families.
We came with our daughters and their children. I liked the there was room in the living room for everyone to watch TV together. We could have used more chairs at the dining room table. Everything worked and it was very clean. I would gladly stay again and would work toward having our own sheets to bring. Thanks to Megan for having such a welcoming cabin.

Nice walk to a beach
We liked the house, especially the grill and pool table. Also, a short walk to the beach was an excitement in the evenings. We went to Yosemite one day, it took about 45 minutes from the house to the gate. Enjoyed our stay a lot! Will be back!

The perfect covid summer vacation spot
We cancelled our family trip out of state and opted to stay local. This spot was perfect for a low key safe vacation. We took the kids to the lake or went to Yosemite everyday. Yosemite was amazing with reduced capacity and reservations only. It was by far our best Yosemite trip. The house is large and had everything we needed. Megan was very easy to communicate with and an excellent host. We would definitely go back.

Awesome for 2 families
We had 7 kids ages 3-11 and they all had fun. Great separation between floors so kids had their own space and adults could relax. Megan is very very easy to reach with any questions. The lake is warm. Those going during COVID summer, get to the lake early on the weekends (Only allow 40 groups at a time) and you have to reserve a time slot for the pool. Only allow 20 people at a time. It worked great for us. Yosemite is beautiful as always. Make sure you reserve your daily pass before you go!
