About this cottage rental
Here is a great updated 3 bedroom cottage with 100 feet of shoreline, on beautiful crystal clear High Lake. This cottage is located at the end of a quiet, private road with Crown land on one side and has the natural beauty of trees built up along Muskoka rock. The cottage sits just slightly elevated from the shoreline with a gradual sloping yard down to the lake. The deck across the front of the cottage gives a great vantage point for relaxing or dining as you gaze out across the water. The western exposure provides all day sun or you can sit back under the shade of nearby trees.
For a dip into the refreshing clear waters, you can walk in from the sand bottomed shore that slopes very gently or shallow dive from the end of the long dock where the water is about 4-5 feet deep. There is a sandy beach area that is great for kids. Kids will love splashing and playing here and the hard packed sand bottom makes it a real joy for wading and swimming.
Enjoy your day on the dock where there is plenty of room for sitting and the sun shines from late morning to sunset. High Lake is a small spring fed lake which means it tends to be a warmer lake and an ideal size for families to enjoy by canoe or pedal boat. Canoe over to the top of the waterfall flowing into Skeleton Lake or go over to the jumping rock. Climb up and jump off. There is a fire pit at the waterfront so you can sit and enjoy amazing sunsets, star gazing, campfires, marshmallow roasting and story-telling
Inside the recently updated cottage, you'll find it meticulously kept. You enter into the Muskoka room, where you can sit and relax on the leather sofa while enjoying a view of the lake through the large sliding door. Once you go through the door you will be in the spacious living and dining rooms. The living room offers plenty of comfortable seating and the dining room table seats 6 comfortably. There is a fully stocked clean white kitchen. One of the three bedrooms enjoys a great view out over the lake.
Whether relaxing in the living room, sitting on the dock, or just chilling out on the deck with your favourite beverage, enjoying cottage life is easy.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage perfectly located on High lake. There were clear entry instructions, and the surprise S'Mores package was a classy touch. We loved the dock, easy access to swimming by the ladder or walking in on the sand beach. It was an easy entry and exit for the canoe and our friends enjoyed the paddle board from the dock.
There are other cottages close by but everyone was very respectful and our campfires felt very private. There is no wifi. The cottage is very well equipped with washer and dryer and barbecue.

We had a wonderful week at Dana's cottage. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. The dock and lake are beautiful - perfect for relaxing, swimming, and paddle boarding. Dana was quick to reply to messages. We highly recommend Dana's cottage for a getaway!

Thank you, Dana.

Cottage life at the next level

This is our second year staying at Dana’s property. I have nothing but good things to say. It’s a perfect spot for our family of 4. The cottage is clean and updated. My kids love sharing a room with bunk beds. My toddler loves the beach and walks into the water and my 6 year old loves to climb down the dock. We used the paddle boards, canoe and paddle boat. Pro tip: check out the waterfall. I would recommend bringing water shoes as there is some weeds growing from the bottom. We unfortunately had to leave a day early due to a family emergency but we are hoping to stay two weeks next summer. Thank you Dana.

We had a great mid-summer week at this comfortable, clean cottage on lovely High Lake.

Dana's cottage was clean, well equipped and oh so relaxing! The beds were good and there was lots of comfortable seating inside and out.
The lake view was spectacular and we spent most of our time swimming, pedal boating and paddle boarding.
We had one rainy day and there was enough space inside for us (4 adults) to hangout and play games.
We would definitely rent again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is obvious that the owners have beautifully updated their cottage to make it more welcoming and comfortable. It was not warm enough to go swimming, but we saw many pleasure boats that could be used by guests, such as a paddble boat, canoe and paddle boards. The fall colours were really spectacular, and some days it was warm enough that we could sit outside and enjoy the view. Thank you for the opportunity to stay here.

The cottage is lovely and has all the conveniences you could ask for. Lying in bed and looking out onto the peaceful lake is the perfect way to start the day. Being at the far end of the lake with an expanse of crown land on one side made it very peaceful. Although there were a few motor craft about, the lake was very peaceful. I discovered a love of paddle boarding this holiday, something I likely wouldn’t have tried if there weren’t a couple of paddle boards at the cottage for us to use. We did local hikes as well as ones in Algonquin, this was a great base for exploring the area. Definitely would recommend a stay at this lovely location and cottage.

Amazing Cottage - perfect for families
The cottage was exactly as described and honestly I felt it was much nicer than the photos show. Super clean, large and more than our family of four needed.
The small beach was perfect for my Little’s and it’s shallow for a while which didn’t leave me worrying about the kids walking in and hitting a drop off. I would recommend water shoes if you don’t like mucky bottoms. There was loads of sand toys, noodles, floaties and life jackets which never left us bored. Gorgeous view of the lake and very private.
The cottage was spotless and the laundry was life changing with two small kids. The fully stocked kitchen was great but we BBQ’d almost every night.
Dana and Ilan left us a s’mores kit which was very thoughtful. The cottage had more than we needed and we will be booking again next summer, for 2 weeks instead of just one!

Wonderful cottage, great location
We had a lovely time at the cottage.
It was immaculate, lots of space, accommodated all 7 of us very well. Kitchen was well-stocked, beds were comfortable, the view of the lake from the cottage was incredible - easily the best part of our stay.
The only downside was due to uncontrollable circumstances - due to recent poor weather and high water levels, the beach area was unusable for our little ones (toddlers) which was unfortunate as the private beach was the main reason we booked this location - but there were some nice beaches with a 30-minute drive from the cottage which we used.
Dana was wonderful - she always replied promptly and even left a smores kit for us as a welcome present which we enjoyed immensely!
Would definitely recommend - just keep in mind the changing nature of the beach if you have little ones :)
Still a wonderful stay overall!

Relaxation Nation!
We had the best time at the cottage! This was our first vacation into the world since the pandemic began, and I cannot even explain in words how grateful I am to have found this cottage. It was the nature boost we all needed!
A group of best friends joined my husband and I for a week away at the most welcoming cottage we've ever rented. The cottage was immaculate, the collection of cookware and serving ware was perfect (we cooked a lot) and the rooms were all very cozy and comfortable. We had a quiet night at the campfire, morning coffee on the dock and great walks through the amazing autumn colours.
Dana was an amazing host! We had all the information we needed before heading up, and everything was exactly as described. I want to give 1000 stars because 5 doesn't seem like nearly enough.
Many many thanks for a spectacular week away and the best Friendsgiving trip we could have ever imagined.

September Family Time
We enjoyed a week-long, early September family vacation at Dana's cottage that included three generations. Description of the location, cottage and amenities was accurate. The lake was quiet and the undeveloped shoreline adjacent to the cottage was a delight to view from the dock or the deck, providing a peaceful setting to relax and enjoy time together. Thanks Dana for being a great host to our vacation.

Thoughtful owners, immaculately kept cottage on calm lake. Perfect for small children
Exceptionally clean, with an amazing view of the calm glistening lake. Had everything you would expect from a cottage, but so much more. It felt familiar, cozy and our kids loved every minute! We hiked the surrounding area, enjoyed the small sandy beach and pedal boat, canoe and paddle boards. We are so happy to have found this gem and hope to return next year! Thank you!

Great location
Had a great stay. The cottage faces west so wonderful for sunsets on the dock and a shallow sandy beach area for small children. The cottage was spic and span upon arrival and is well equipped. Would definitely recommend.

Our 1 week of paradise!
Dana's cottage vacation spot was more beautiful than the pictures and the location was perfect. We had trouble getting the TV on and called Dana later in the evening and she was very gracious to help us out. The beautiful site from the dock or front porch, with crown land all to the left, and Cherry Island directly across was stunning. Our family enjoyed every minute entertaining the adults and the children with a variety of activities. We all enjoyed the canoe, 2 paddles boards, the padel boat, and lots of swimming. You were able to get around the whole lake to adventure, fish and swim, and sit in the Muskoka chairs to enjoy the view and sunsets. Our grandchildren were able to fish from the dock, enjoy the pedal boat, catch tadpoles, listen to the lunes, and enjoy the ducks visit. They also enjoyed the hike from the smaller water fall to the larger water fall where you can sit in the water below. There is the Bent River General Store where you can get everything you need and the cabbage rolls and perogies were delicous. On Saturday they have a farmers market that has everything from fruit, veggies, home cooked meals, arts, crafts, jewellry, wood carvings, baking goods, meat, cheese, live music, and much more. For fine dining you have the famous Windermere and the Crossroads reataurants to enjoy a delicious meal and walk around. There is a variety of hiking trails in the area, Santas Village, and man parks and cities to advenure. Dana was very kind to leave us a gift bag of marshmellow, chocolates and wafers, to enjoy smores over the bomfire! Thankyou Dana for letting us enjoy your wonderful cottage with all the many great memories. The Jarosz Family

This cottage is just perfect!
What a fantastic getwaway on high lake! The cottage is perfectly positioned on the lake and is one of the best lots. The sand entry is wonderful and it is deep enough for our boat off the dock. The crown land and rocks on the left are both picturesque and give lots of privacy. The cottages on the right are close but everyone was respectful. The bay where the cottage sits is warm and the bugs are almost non-existent due to the breeze always blowing in from the lake. The cottage itself is well equipped, clean and the view from the deck is amazing! Sun all day and beautiful evenings eating on the deck. What more can you ask for! This is an absolute 5 * place and we would rent it again without hesitation! The owners were very responsive. Thanks so much Dana!!

Wonderful Cottage Get Away
This cottage was exactly as advertised. Wonderful location on a quiet lake. The canoe, pedal boat, and paddle boards were great for exploring the lake. Swimming was great off the dock or walk in from the beach with a nice sandy bottom. The cottage had all of the amenities needed: toaster oven, Keurig, bbq, all utensils etc. For rainy days the satellite tv, DVD’s, and board games kept us busy. Bed was comfortable for a good sleep. Cottage was very clean and modern. We had a relaxing stay!

Excellent Muskoka Family Vacation
Dana was a welcoming and accommodating host. Her cottage was perfect for our family. Our boys loved the bunk beds, fishing off the dock, going for paddles in the canoe and splashing around in the shallow water off the beach. Dana was welcoming and accommodating. I couldn’t recommend a better host!

The perfect relaxing retreat
My partner and I stayed for 4 days and just loved it. Everything was spotless and ready for us. Even though it was chilly, we enjoyed the canoe and waked the local trails. There’s lots to do in nearby towns as well. I would highly recommend this property!

Autumn Weekend
We booked Dana's cottage for a long weekend stay, hoping to catch some of the beautiful fall colours and tour the area. We had a wonderful time and despite the cooler weather we enjoyed using the canoe and paddle boards available at the cottage. The lake is very clear and surprisingly warm for this time of year. The local hike at the Fish Hatchery Trail was gorgeous and we enjoyed exploring the towns of Port Carling and Rosseau. The cottage kitchen was well stocked with pots , pans, and cooking utensils and we especially loved the wood stove which warmed the main living area quickly. The beds were very comfortable and the outdoor area was lovely - incredible view!

Fall Getaway
We had a fabulous stay at Dana’s cottage. Everything was just as described. It was clean and comfortable. There was a small welcome gift that was such a nice surprise. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials plus extras like aluminum foil and Saran Wrap which was helpful to have. We were able to use the canoe and stand up paddle boards which were all in great condition. We had very few questions for Dana as instructions were clear and well communicated but she did respond quickly when we had a question about the garbage. We would absolutely recommend this cottage and return in the future.

We loved the cottage , but were taken aback by the very close proximity of the next door cottage and several others on the small bay. There were no other people around during our stay which made for a very quiet and relaxing visit . We would like to return but would have a concern about noise , boat traffic from the nearby cottage owners/ rentals. Some feedback regarding this would be welcome .

Perfection!
We couldn’t believe our good fortune, spending a whole week at this location! It was perfect! So quiet! We spent a lot of time on the beautiful dock. The lake was clear and the sand warm. The cottage is in a very quiet, unspoiled part of the lake. Canoeing was wonderful - so much nature to see, since a large portion of the lake is Crown Land. We saw otters, loons, a hummingbird, and some very friendly ducks. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Just excellent.

Location is what this cottage is all about!
The photo of the dock is what grabbed our attention - we like to sit out there reading and sipping!
We probably had the hottest week ever in July which meant keeping cool was a challenge. The lake was perfect thru the day but inside the cottage we had to rely on ceiling and floor fans; and sleeping with the bedroom patio door open which proved to be too much temptation for one of the local raccoons!
Around 4.00am, he broke in thru the screen door and raided our stock of potato chips and after a brief chase thru the Muskoka room, made his escape back thru the bedroom! Repairs were promptly made by Dana's property manager which kept the not-so little critter out on two subsequent visits.
The ceiling fan in that bedroom was not the most effective, being very wobbly and noisy - Dana assures us that it will be replaced soon.
Over-all, we were very pleased with the cottage which seems to have been recently renovated - good laminate floors easy to keep clean and a well-appointed kitchen. For us, however, it is the secluded location; a beautiful clean lake beside a heavily wooded conservation area - beware the flying insects if you venture along its trails!
All the other wild life we encountered was much more pleasant – daily swim-bys of a mother duck showing her 7 chicks all the best feeding spots; a good variety of birds including an evening fly-over of an owl; chip monks and squirrels; dragon flies and butterflies.
Throughout the many weeks of uncertainty due to the changing rules regarding COVID-19 , Dana has always promptly and patiently answered our many questions about conditions in the area, so we were able to remain confident about actually being able to stay there.

Wonderful Week!
My family and I had a wonderful week at this cottage! We have 4 children ranging from 4-14 and they all were easily kept busy and entertained with all the cottage had to offer. From catching frogs, fishing from the dock, paddle boarding, canoe rides and lots of swimming in the clean fresh water, it made for a relaxing and fun week for everyone! The weather happened to be amazing as well which helped! The cottage had a wonderful view and offered good privacy with no neighbours to the left. We were impressed by the BBQ, supply of firewood and other "extras" the owners provided for our stay! We had a boat so were able to enjoy all that "High Lake" had to offer. A "sweet" spot and would definitely consider returning in the future!

Last cottage on a dead end road.
We had a wonderful time at Dana's cottage. It was very clean and well equipped. The kitchen appliances and utensils were new and in good condition. That is not always the case at rented cottages! It was very quiet most of the time, there are a few neighbouring cottages and so there was boat and people noise some of the time, but it was much quieter than the cottage we have previously rented on the Moon River. We saw and heard loons every day and night, even babies, which was just lovely. We saw snapping turtles, frogs, fish, and even a mink at the cottage, right off the dock. The cottage was close to Rosseau and Windermere. We had a very lovely lunch on the verandah of the Windermere House. My husband enjoyed the canoe provided at the cottage. Overall, highly recommended!
