About this house rental
Our two bedroom - three bathroom- house is located above the town of Sayulita on Gringo Hill. This location is a 10 minute walk to the town square and beach - out of the noise and congestion of staying in town or on the beach. Our home has a panoramic view of the ocean from the upper sundeck. It has a pool and large veranda for relaxing and enjoying the cool breezes that Gringo Hill provides. Our home has a large master bedroom with a king sized bed. The master bath has a walk-in shower and a Jacuzzi soaking tub. The guest bedroom has a king size bed with a set of bunk beds. This includes a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
There is a guest bathroom off the living room for convenience.
Our home has a completely furnished kitchen with very nice appliances. All dishware, cooking utensils, and accessories are of good quality. In the kitchen, you will find most items you need to cook as big or small as you like. Adjoining the kitchen and living area, there is a breakfast bar for informal meals or just to talk and visit while the cook is in the kitchen. Behind the kitchen, we have a laundry room with both washer and dryer.
Most of our guests, take their meals on the veranda where we have a nice all weather dining table and chairs. The veranda overlooks the swimming pool and gardens. On the veranda, you will find additional seating areas which are great for relaxing. There are also ample chairs for guests to relax and enjoy the views. On property, you will find other seating areas in the gardens for additional peace and privacy.
Our home is managed by Maria Jimenez. Maria is from an old and very respected Sayulita family. She has lived in the pueblo all her life. Maria will meet you at the house and orient you. Maria can also arrange for fishing trips, a cook to come to the house, or a massage on the veranda. Maria knows everyone in the pueblo and is great if you run into a problem or emergency. She can also arrange for surfing lessons, paddle board rentals, or horseback riding excursions. She can also arrange for a golf cart rental if you want to explore Sayulita.
Our home has lots of "Gringo" amenities such as air conditioning, internet, and a small safe in the master. The home is well maintained with nice gardens and palm trees for seclusion. As many of the homes on Gringo Hill have full time residents, we have found this location to be very safe yet private. If you rent a golf cart or have a car, we have a dedicated parking area on property with electricity.

We enjoyed the house very much and the pool was so nice to have.

From beginning to the end, the owner John and the local property manager Maria satisfied all of our questions, wants and needs. Maria helped book a fishing trip and snorkeling for my family. The house is beautiful, well maintained and was very clean upon arrival. I think the only thing missing was a TV in the master bedroom. After a long day at the beach, and the kids are asleep, it would have been nice to watch a movie with my wife from the comfort of the bedroom. The town and beach are a short walk down the hill. Many people rent golf carts, we preferred to walk. If you have never driven in this area, I highly recommend renting a SUV or truck with higher ground clearance. We went down many roads that grinded and scraped the bottom of our Nissan rental car. We would definitely rent this home again in the future. A wonderful home and experience. Thank you.

Had a great stay in Sayulita! Loved Casa Paraiso del Pacifico; very comfortable and had everything we needed. John's knowledge and communication about Sayulita made for a wonderful vacation.
Thank you John!!!

Highlights: Maria--the house manager is wonderful. She is so kind, makes herself as available as you need, and has a deep knowledge of Sayulita. There is plenty of room for a family especially for a longer stay. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy various activities together or privately. The pool area looks shady in the online photos but got plenty of sun throughout the day to enjoy sunbathing poolside even in the winter months. The garden areas are beautifully maintained and gorgeous. The house has a lived-in family vibe--not too precious or designer-y with sturdy furniture and a handful of traditional pieces like the four-poster bed and the bedroom wardrobe. Some items are quite dated. The views are stunning and it is so close to town--walking distance from everywhere.
What to know: The kitchen is well appointed with everything you will need if you like to cook. Pans are older teflon and most of the items are somewhat flimsy and new-ish or fragile from wear, again slightly dated. Filtered water is provided and the supply is refreshed weekly. Nights in Sayulita can be LOUD! I doubt it matters where you stay. Pack earplugs!
Minisplit units upstairs and down are available if you need them (we did not) but make the space easy to cool. The living room can definitely accommodate five people or even six but the seating is probably only comfortable for longer stretches for about three of those people. The neighbors are great. The house was perfect for our longer stay.

5 stars all the way! The Villa was beautiful, spacious and very well equipped and the private pool was a treat. The town of Sayulita was amazing, so friendly, great food and beautiful little boutiques everywhere. The beach was great to walk every day and we were impressed with how clean it was. We will definitely be back, thank you John for giving us the opportunity to discover your beautiful home and town.

This amazing house is in the perfect location, just a short walk up the hill from town. Our family did not use a golf cart and the walk up the hill was a nice way to end the day and made the cold beer taste even better when we got "home".
What made this trip more memorable was the support and care of John (home owner) and Maria (house manager). From the pickup at the airport to the suggestions of activities, restaurants and gym, we felt we had our own private concierge. Communication with John and Maria was prompt and very helpful.
Do not hesitate to book this property! You will not be disappointed!

My family of 6 loved Casa Paradiso! Plenty of space for us all, beautiful property with amazing views of Sayulita! John is easy to contact and super helpful as well as is Maria, the property manager. We can’t wait to stay again next summer! Thanks John!

I cannot say enough about our experience at John and Molly's little slice of heaven!! We wanted to find the perfect spot for our two families to experience Mexico, in a relaxing setting...and we found it!! Everyone loved the location (the perfect distance, just a short walk up, from the adorable town of Sayulita) and the comforts of home provided by the amazing hosts and local team of helpers. From the moment we arrived at the airport, John had everything arranged for us- airport transfer, stop at the grocery, golf cart delivery. He was the most kind and thorough host I've had the pleasure of working with...and, we've traveled a lot. We felt so cozy and safe at the house, with all of the modern amenities and comfy beds. The many outdoor spaces offered plenty of room to spread out and relax. The house is decorated with impeccable taste in art and full of beautiful ,thoughtful details. The layout worked well for our group, with bedrooms w/ bathrooms on two separate levels. We loved walking down the little cobblestone lane in the mornings to get coffee at one of the many great spots, followed by a stroll on the beach and a little shopping at the many stands on our way back "home". The kids spent countless hours in the pool and we prepared several meals in the well-equipped kitchen. The newer washer and drier were appreciated! I could go on and on, but in a nutshell, look no further! This is truly the perfect spot to unwind, get a taste of culture, and enjoy the magic of Sayulita! Thank you so much, John and Molly for sharing you gorgeous home with our families! We're already dreaming of returning...

Golf cart was not necessary- we enjoyed the trip up hill. Could not have asked for a better spot- would definitely book again and transportation from airport was a breeze with John and Maria’s coordination! Such a special spot and room for teenagers to spread out and get away from their sometimes annoying mom!

We loved John’s place! Everything was perfect! We loved all the cozy little places to sit and enjoy within the place. By the pool or the numerous different decks. We actually enjoyed the little hike up and down the hill into town and to the beach. We would definitely recommend as a nice quiet place for families, but still close to the bustling town and beach.

I can’t say enough about this property, John Trice was amazing to deal with we actually got to meet him and had a wonderful visit. Maria was amazing to deal with as well. The house the views were stunning. Very well stocked place and lots of towels. We would definitely stay at this property again Thanks John.

The other reviews are for real. This place is amazing: quiet location with beautiful amenities, and a super quick walk to the downtown festivities and lovely beach. I would love to stay here again. Our crew felt so lucky to live there for a short while.
(If anyone in your party is disabled, has bad knees, or is excessively clumsy, there are a lot of steps, but such as the case with the entire town.)

Wow, I can’t say enough about this hidden gem! From the moment you enter, you’ll be amazed by all the wonderful outdoor space. From the front patio to the pool and upper terrace to the second floor terrace that leads to the amazing rooftop terrace offering spectacular views of the ocean and jungle. The house is very spacious and well appointed complete with a fully stocked kitchen. John was great about answering any and all questions in a timely manner. It’s a short walk to town and the beaches with lots a great restaurants to choose from. You will not be disappointed and I can’t wait to return! Thanks for sharing your charming casa!

We had such a great stay at the Trice family home. You can immediately tell that that the attention to detail has been honed over the years to cover a lot of potential issues. The location is perfect. Just up the hill from the town sqaure and is an under ten minute walk. The weather was perfect and we loved sitting on the various decks. We would definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The host and house manager were easy to communicate with and they responded in a timely fashion. The house is well maintained and had very useful amenities. We had a great time!
Maria arranged for Roberto to pick us up at the airport and we stopped at Mega in Bucerias to purchase groceries. Roberto was very helpful and waited for us, even though our flight was late and we waited a long time for our luggage. He was also on time for our return trip to the airport.
We made great use of the ice machine and coffee maker. Though the listing doesn't say it, there was a carbon monoxide detector in the kitchen. The power went out on Gringo Hill one day while we were there, but we spent that day in town.
The beds seem very typical of beds in other places we have stayed in Mexico: very firm mattresses. I would have preferred a more comfortable mattress. However, I did enjoy that the couch was quite comfortable, which is unusual for other places we have stayed.
We had plenty of towels, including beach towels, and the patio off the upstairs bedroom was great for early morning yoga.

This was one of those rare times where everything was just perfect. Location, communication, accuracy, cleanliness, proximity to stores and restaurants...the list goes on. We had a fabulous time over Christmas and can not wait to return this property.

We spent two weeks in this amazing house with fantastic views. It’s a short (but steep) walk to downtown and the beach. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with local art. We used all five outdoor seating areas at various times, though we were usually poolside when we were there during the day and on the upper deck stargazing at night.
The property owner and manager were both readily available and quick to help with questions (there weren’t many) and advice (which we got a lot of). They were great to deal with and made our vacation simpler and more enjoyable.
We look forward to booking another stay at this property. Five stars all around!

Top notch Sayulita house
Beautiful, well appointed. A quick walk down the hill but super quiet with no noise from downtown. Loved the view from the upper patios. Mattresses were comfy. More than enough for a couple. Would definitely bring the kids back. Great for families.

Perfecto Casa Paraiso!
We just arrived back home yesterday, 6/9, after a week stay in this home and could write up a three page detailed review yet will keep this simple for the VRBO-ers out there. The owner, John, is incredibly on-hands with any and all questions about logistics, the town, etc. We highly advise utilizing him and his staff (Maria) for any questions.
The home sits higher up on the "gringo" hill yet is a mere 10 min walk (if that) to the "town" which is really comprised of a couple one way streets. In addition, the path to town will take you directly to the beach. The home is very clean and includes everything needed for cooking, etc. The A/C works wonderfully and is recommended during the night only. Home is stocked with plenty of drinking water too. Raul the gardener is often there and maintains the garden, pool, etc which is stunning! The 2nd and 3rd level decks are relaxing and views are wonderful.
All in all, incredible experience for our family having the pool option with the beach and incredible foods/dining. There are small "grocery" stores in town plus outdoor produce markets. Everything is accessible by foot to included adjacent beaches. We rented a golf cart but really felt it was not necessary.
Be adventurous, bring pesos, practice your Spanish and enjoy the beauty of Sayulita in this wonderful home.

Beautiful Home!
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Paraiso del Pacifico. The house was very spacious, clean and perferct for our family. The outside space was beautiful and just what we needed to relax and unwind. The house is situated toward the top of the hill so we were so thankful we had a golf cart. John was incredibly helpful and we appreciated all of his recommendations. Maria was so very sweet and helped us arrange the golf cart rental, transportation to the airport, dinner at the home.... she is a delight. We really loved everything about this home and the location. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town but not too far that we couldn't walk if we wanted to. We loved it here!
My only recommendation would be to bring an eye mask as the flood light in the front yard kept us awake throughout the week but really, that wouldn't stop us from staying here again.

Great Property!
John (the owner) and Maria (onsite property manager) were a pleasure to work with during booking and during our stay. The house was as advertised and more. I would absolutely stay there again.

Wonderful Stay
My husband and I and our two teenagers had a wonderful time staying here at the end of March. The homeowner is responsive and extremely helpful. The home itself is beautiful, spacious and provides beautiful views of Sayulita and the Pacific ocean. I was up every morning to practice yoga with the sunrise, and was enchanted by the sounds of the birds and nothing else. It is a climb to get back up to the house, but we actually enjoyed the exercise after eating too many tacos.

Family Vacation
The house and caretaker were great. The location is perfect for being close to the center and beach but also being far enough away for it to be quiet. The house was perfect for our kids to enjoy the pool and beach.

Fantastic getaway
We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Paraiso. While it was a bit of a slog by o get to a nice part of Sayulita beach with a toddler, once we figured out our daily pattern our daily walk down and up the hill were relatively easy. It was lovely to spend our afternoons lazily by the pool, to watch the stars from the rooftop deck, and to enjoy a meal outside every day!! John was an incredibly responsive owner, and the house manager Maria attended to our every need. A highly recommended place to stay!

Wonderful experience
My girlfriends and I had a great week at this house. We couldn’t get over the view from the roof deck, and stargazed several nights. The house is fabulous with a very beautiful lush garden surrounding.
Plenty of extra blankets, pillows, towels, and being able to do laundry was a big plus. The location is also great, Maria offered to help us rent a golf cart but it was only a 10 minute walk to the beach area so we decided we didn’t need it, we got a little exercise going up the hill and met lots of cute dogs and cats on the way. 10/10 would stay again.

Perfect.
This trip was a much needed break from for all four of us who were present. From the get-go, John made communication and planning incredibly easy and worry-free. He made great recommendations for food, activities and travel preparations and also provided such thorough information that we really didn't even need to ask any questions! John also connected us with wonderful locals (Maria and Maca) for activities and transportation. Both Maca (driver) and Maria (care taker and local connection for activities) were kind, professional and warm. The companies and individuals with whom Maria connected us for services (surf lessons, golf cart and massages) were also all wonderful. Everyone of them over-delivered!
Sayulita is a gem of a town with a rich and diverse tourist population and this property is a rare find as well! Well cared for, professionally updated and modernized with care so as not to loose the charm of Sayulita - we will definitely be back!

Great house and location
Our family spend 8 wonderful days at the house. It was the perfect location for us, a short walk into the village and beach, but in a quiet part neighborhood. The house is fully stocked and has several outdoor patios and a lovely pool. John and Maria were extremely helpful, helping us arrange transportation to and from the airport, golf cart rental and a massage for my wife. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful vacation!
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home in Sayulita! We had such a wonderful time. The home was clean and comfortable with amazing sunset and ocean views. Also, quiet. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool every day, a couple times. John was so easy to get a hold of and helped with coordinating drivers, activities, etc. with their wonderful house manager, Maria. We were so sad to leave and plan to return again soon.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful home in a scenic location on a hill overlooking the town. Didn’t want to leave!

The home was a great base to enjoy and explore Sayulita. John met us outside of town and made sure we were able to find the house and get settled in well. Any questions we had were answered right away. We had an excellent stay and happily can recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in a Sayulita. It’s close enough to town to be convenient, but up far enough on the hill to avoid most of the noise and hustle of town center. The pool was great for cooling off after hiking back up to the house.
