About this apartment rental
Aloha Molokai!
It will be Humpback Whale season in the Kaholi channel of Molokai, Hawaii, December - April, an epic event to watch these giants with their babies so close up.
If you are looking for the true ALOHA spirit, this charming condo offers you just that for your total enjoyment. NEW: A/C has been installed very recently. Entire condo has been completely renovated with porcelain tiles, new paint throughout and new drapes. It is equipped with all kitchen amenities and offers you the splendor of paradise. Start your morning by zipping your cup of coffee or favored beverage on the lanai, be aware of the stillness surrounding you, watch tiny little fish jumping out of the ocean for joy, where birds leave their footprints in the sand in front of you, where the island of Lanai calls you across the channel, and where the fishpond so close begs you to visit. A new day with exciting activities has just begun for you......
The island of Molokai, also called “The Friendly Isle” is the most Hawaiian island and it is what Kauai used to be many years ago: tranquil and undisturbed in its natural beauty; My condo is about 1.5+ mile drive from Kaunakakai, the nearest and only town on the East Side for your shopping. There are two highways: one from north east to south east; another one from east to west. There is only ONE rental Car Company at the airport, but some others are near Kaunakakai. It's recommended to make your rental car reservation as soon as possible to avoid being stranded without a car. Should that happen give me a call as I may be able to find you one.
Molokai Shores is a spectacular beach resort in Molokai, Hawaii blending in perfectly with nature around it. My ocean front condo is located at the 2nd floor with a fully equipped kitchen, amenities and day sofa bed in living room, 1 queen bed in bedroom, 1 bath combing shower and bathtub, living room and lanai that lets you take in the vast velvet of the ocean and the fabulous exquisite sunsets during the Fall months. It was fully remodeled the 2nd time. Molokai Shores Resort offers a gated community pool right near the ocean, impeccable grounds with BBQ, picnic tables, tennis and kayaking . You have marvelous views to the island of Lanai which lies across the channel. Toward the left you’ll see the island of Maui. The resort offers you housekeeping services, laundry facility and hair dresser;
There are a few eateries in the town of Kaunakakai, a hotel, two grocery stores, one gas station on the east and one at the west side, a local museum, a farmers market, fishponds and a paradise for the outdoors, pristine rainforests with waterfalls, finest sand beaches, hiking, no traffic lights (!!!). Eat at Kualapuu Cookhouse where baby back ribs with homemade guava-barbecue sauce are just a mere hint of the offerings, come for the Luau at the Molokai Hotel while watching the sunset.
How to explore Molokai’s rich history and secrets, the very first Hula school; fishponds where fish were raised only for the Royalty- the Ali'i, unspoiled rainforests with some 900 m high seasonal water falls; Kalaupapa, the historical park and home of the few remaining former leper residents ; local tours for snorkeling, adventure, sightseeing, and where to indulge in the most gorgeous sunsets ... right from your condo. Once you book my condo most of these places are detailed in my Travel Guide Books which are mentioned in my WELCOME letter.
If this is the first time you come to Molokai or even if you have visited before, below are some interesting places which you don’t want to miss::
Kaunakakai, Wedding and Honey moons, Royal Coconut Grove and Park, Historical Museum and Sugar mill, coffee plantation and Macadamia Nut Farm, Fishponds, Kalaupapa Natl Museum (former Leper colony), Father Damien's life, Maunaloa and the 'Big Wind Lite Factory on the west side, Halawa Valley on the south east coast, Hikes and water falls with "Kalani", visit his gorgeous flower and fruit farm in Halawa Valley….
Visit Molokai's finest beaches -- Papohaku, Kepuhi and Kawakiu, which are some of the very best sand beaches of Hawaii. Visit the Leper colony in Kalaupapa either on mule or by helicopter, absorb the view of the majestic Na Pali, stop at the chapel dedicated to Father Damien, or take short flights to the other islands, sign up to organized trips for fishing and snorkeling, bicycling all over the island, explore the old fishponds where fish were raised only for the high Ali'i. And watch the most exquisite, breathtaking sunsets from the lanai during the fall months, observe wales as they migrate from Alaska from December to April. Don’t forget to stop by the Coffee Plantation and the Macadamia Nut Farm , indulge in chocolate shave ice – the best I like is from the gas station in Kaunakakai.
The Whale Watching Season is here right now! These graceful Humpback whale giants start migrating from Alaska from December to April to give birth to their babies. A phantastic fascinating event to experience these friendly marine giants in the waters off of Molokai's south coast (between Molokai, Lanai, & Maui) where an estimated 75% (10,000 - 12,000) of those whales can be found! You may watch them right from your lanai as they are moving, jumping out of the water, males singing to attract females, slapping the water's surface with their fins, tails, or heads. Or you may join a whale watching tour boat in the Kalohi Channel - Kaunakakai. We hope you enjoy these amazing giants!
Molokai is a special place with so much history, adventure, tranquility and.... the fastest way to slow down. If that still doesn’t entice you for a Molokai vacation, call me with your questions and I’m delighted to answer your questions. Mahalo.

It’s conveniently located near town and in our case near friends.
We had a minor plumbing issue while we were there and it was resolved and Sigrid was always in contact if we needed something.

Wonderful place with a new split AC system for both bedroom and living room. Wonderful view of ocean and Lanai. Look forward to a return some day

Clean and bright condo with spectacular views of the ocean. Great location on Molokai- close to food, restaurants, services, activities. Nice area and complex.

We chose this condo due to its central location close to town and also to the Hotel Molokai where there is a nice restaurant and live music. This condo was well equipped and very comfortable and we chose it also because it had AC where most condos in Molokai do not. It is a quiet complex and we enjoyed the views and the pool. Molokai was fun to explore and a beautiful place in the world but one must enjoy a lack of tourist activities. We love the outside and nature so it suited us for the time we were there.

Not our first time here, and won't be our last time here. If your not sure about Molokai, just do it and stay here. You won't regret it, I promise.

The view from the porch is the ocean. Just beautiful! Nice setup, wifi worked well which was good because TMobile had no service there. Well stocked kitchen - plenty of cups, plates, and silverware.

The view from the Condo is incomparable. The breeze keeps the place cool, and it was very clean and easy to access. Its reasonable price make it a really good deal

Great view! It’s what I envision when I picture Hawaii.

This is a nice place to stay. We did see a lot of whales. They are a long way out but it was wonderful. It is right on the beach and the view is wonderful.

The views from the condo are outstanding. I enjoyed my coffee on the lanai every morning and the sunsets were breathtaking. It was nice to have an air-conditioned place to stay on the island close to a town. The list of dining options was nice to have as many places have varied hours and closures. The unit itself is a bit dated but had all of the amenities needed. A little larger TV would be nice. We enjoyed our stay here.

Nice property located mid island. Very convenient to explore both sides of island. Gorgeous view for sunsets.
Close to town for groceries. Keep in mind stores close early. Only a few dining options available.
Unit is complete with most things one would need. If you are a light sleeper you would need ear plugs as bedroom is close to complex parking.
Air con is new but probably not necessary with the cool ocean breeze.
Looking forward to staying again next year.

Condo had everything you could need for a stay on the island. Great sunsets from the lanai which looked out onto the ocean. Close to services in town. Enjoyed the low-key, friendly atmosphere.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit was clean and well equipped. The A/C was appreciated as temps/humidity were above normal during our stay. The view from the balcony was ideal for the beautiful sunsets.

The owner was diligent and quick to respond and great at communicating. The complex property was immaculate. However the unit is in need of a THOROUGH cleaning and some easy upgrades. Stains in the tub, lots of mold in the sliding shower door, crumbs on the stove, trash can lid kept falling off, the refrigerator door was dirty with food, dining set cushions were VERY stained, lanai chair cushions were ripped. A little TLC and better cleaning would make this a gem. There is no elevator and the stairs to the second floor unit are not the easiest to take on for those with physical challenges and VERY difficult to climb with luggage as there are large gaps between each step. The view from the lanai was spectacular.

It all started with a super friendly obliging competent Host. The information before arrival was perfect and helpful. In addition, the host called to make sure everything was in order after arrival. The flat was in a fantastic, super-beautiful location. Great view, amazing sunsets and the air conditioning was worth its weight in gold!

The property is clean, well-appointed, and in a great location. Full kitchen, a/c, and a fantastic view from the balcony. Parking is right outside the door. Pool is clean and lovely. Sunsets visible from your balcony. 1 mile from everything. Host was accessible and prompt with help. We would definitely stay here again!

If your looking to relax and get away from it all this is the place! Wished there were sups or kayaks that were usable or rented from here. Would have loved doing that every morning.

Overall stay was very good. Views from the unit are beautiful. Sigrid was very attentive. Property was advertised with a/c but had not been installed until 10 days into our stay during a hot summer. It is the ONLY unit at Molokai Shores with a/c. The floors had new tile. Walls had new paint. Furniture is a little worn but functional. Had roaches first week we arrived that became more frequent and when we brought it up again the second week after trying baits and sprays she quickly had pest control and issue was resolved since. She had issues with my husband staying with me but the occupancy of 2 persons for a one bedroom was standard. Vrbo had deleted my second adult occupancy request I assume website/app error that caused misunderstanding. We had trouble getting mail. She was very prompt to get us a notarized letter as the property manager was unwilling to help us get mail at the unit we were staying and the post office wanted us to have in writing that we were staying their for work.

The condo was exactly as stated which is always a welcome relief and great start to a vacation. The condo was clean, well stocked with towels, kitchenware, and bedding. The view from the cozy balcony was amazing, overlooking the ocean and view of Lanai. We were able to watch kayakers come and go, whales dancing in the ocean, and the peace and tranquillity the sun rose and set. We spent time in the pool as well as walk the beach shore looking for shells. The complex has office staff and they were very helpful. It is close to the Main Street in Kaunakakai and Molokai Hot Bread.
The owner Sigrid was very helpful with booking and upon check in. I have stayed in several different vacation rentals on Molokai and would definitely recommend Sigrid's condo, my one and only favorite!

Beautiful View from second story deck of this one bedroom well stocked condo. Owner was fantastic and followed up.
Sunsets on this property are lovely and pool is nice. Narrow beach but nice and shallow. Wishing I had my kayak.
Having been to Maui and Cabo San Lucas where you easily spot whales from your deck with the naked eye, I would NOT say this was a great whale watching spot as we saw zero in seven days.
Go for the sunsets and rainbows.
Molokai Shores seems the best location as it is a mile from the town. We drove to the other properties on Molokai and would definitely choose Molokai shores again. Like all condos, each one has individual pluses and minuses. This one has a spectacular view. Condo laundry facilities spotless but bring quarters as we never did see the “onsite” person.

Well equipped and comfortable condo, lanai overlooks the open water and the sunsets are incredible. Located near the small town center and very relaxing

This is our third time staying with Sigrid. The sunset views are incredible from the lanai. We have not been here for a few years and there has been a few nice updates. The neighbors are very friendly and hospitable. The complex is central to the east and west beaches of Molokai. Can't wait to get back to paradise. Mahalo

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sigrids condo. The view cannot be beat! Oceanfront - the water is right there! We loved the comfortable balcony with padded chairs. Its location on molokai was perfect too. Very central, short drive to town and you can drive to explore both ends of the island easily. Nice clean pool and grounds, easy parking. The bed was firm but good enough. The unit was clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed except a cooler. My one recommendation would be to have a small cooler there. We often wanted to do a picnic on the beach but we didn't have anything to keep food and drinks cold and transportable. Otherwise everything was great!

The entire place was wonderful

The condo views are excellent, the complex beautifully kept, the owner is very nice and the check in process was easy. The unit is one of the smaller units in the complex but in an excellent location, the only drawbacks are limited condiments and the internet crawls to the point where it is almost nonexistent and has no range (I think it still use DSL). Also, the bathroom light/fan makes a loud horrible screeching noise to the point where you need to use the bathroom in the dark out of fear of waking anyone or disturbing the neighbors (in bad need of repair). Overall though, we would rent it again, Molokai is special, but only if they repair the fan, which I’m sure they will, and upgrade to a 21st century internet.

We so enjoyed our stay at Sigrid’s condo. It’s located super close to town and other amenities. You’re also centrally located to both sides of the island, which are totally different from one another but all so beautiful. You truly can’t beat the view from Sigrid’s lanai, and the pool is right outside. Don’t hesitate, book this condo! You’ll fall In love with Molokai like we did!

This condo is a real gem on the Molokai shores ! It is beautifully decorated, very complete and spacious with a seperate bedroom and a good bed. The views from the lanai are absolutely breathtaking, we watched them over and over again. Molokai shores are very centrally located on the island, we visited several quiet beaches, kayak rentals were very close for a beautiful sunrise tour. The contacts with the owner was very pleasant, we would definately recommend this condo and stay here again when visiting Molokai, thank you Sigrid !!!

Beautiful Space in Wonderful Setting
Lovely condo with patio overlooking the beach. The grounds are lovely and the property management is friendly and responsive. New flooring and countertops provide an airy and modern feel to the space. The furniture is newer and the decor is calming. There is a large gas range for cooking; gas and charcoal grills are available behind the pool. The pool is kept very clean and was never crowded. The bedroom was comfortable and I heard almost no noise from the other condos. I would have liked to stay longer.

sleeping arraignment
Site stated that the bedroom has a queen bed and also the pull out couch stated it was queen. It was a full size in the bedroom and the couch also.

Beautiful ocean front location
the unit is is just as pictured, on a beautiful ocean front location. The lanai is a lovely place to enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The swimming pool is really nice, worth staying home for a day to read and sunbathe. The unit is clean and well kept. The only disappointment was the bed, which was not a queen as described, but something smaller.

Molokai at its best
Friendly neighbors, well cared for grounds and property, everything you need for a nice vacation
