As an urban backpacker, my recent stay at Bunker Hostel in Bir was a delightful experience. This cozy and affordable hostel truly exceeded my expectations. The location of Bunker Hostel is ideal, situated in the heart of Bir and within walking distance of the main attractions. The hostel itself has a unique ambiance with its rustic decor and comfortable common areas. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with any queries or travel recommendations. One of the highlights of my stay was the dormitory. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. The hostel also provided lockers for securing personal belongings, adding an extra layer of security. Bunker Hostel offered a range of amenities that catered to the needs of backpackers. The common area was a great place to socialize and meet fellow travelers, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, the hostel provided reliable Wi-Fi, which was essential for planning my daily activities. The hostel's affordability was another standout feature. With its budget-friendly rates, Bunker Hostel provided excellent value for money without compromising on quality. It was the perfect choice for travelers seeking a comfortable and economical stay.

The primary attraction of this property is their in-house working cafe(16:20), which they have combined with cosy dorms

Bunker resembles a home. I believe it's preferable to experience this on your own. However, based on my personal experience, I do advise everyone to avoid scheduling your days around being in bunkers. Advice: Minimum Stay: 3 weeks

It was an adventure

Even though I was not expecting to walk into a Hostel like building, I kind of liked the bohemian vibe , probably created with some effort by the owner . Also, just before we left, we got a taste of the food from the kitchen. Excellent parathas ;-) I would also like to express how much I appreciated an earlier phone conversation with the owner, before I made the booking. He was kind and helpful in sharing information of the local paragliding competition. It also looks like a lot of effort has gone into designing and upgrading the rooms upstairs. Liked the room size and the decor

Couple of things could have been better, but I considered it part of the adventure 1. location was a bit remote from the center of Bir 2. Not entirely upfront about the hostel like environment. on the booking.com website 3. Service could certainly have been better. The front desk only opens at 830 am. So if you are up early, you are on your own. That said, I would like to give a shout out in the end to Pawan , who made amends in the very end by expiditing a lovely breakfast for us

Must try especially if u have a pet.

This property is pet friendly , have a very cute cafe. The staff is very hospitable. The property is well maintained and very clean. Hello to the queen is must try and food is also amazing.

Service time is longer than expected and food is slightly on the higher side. Road facing hence the view isn’t the best but then this property is a rare find with such good facilities and pocket friendliness.

Peaceful abode at Bir

If you are looking for something cozy and peaceful this is definitely the place for you, The food is great , the staff is nice and it makes up for a wholesome experience. I spent most of my time inside the hostel, there was no such thing to disappoint ! As usual it takes a couple of days to get used to the place. Thanks for everything!

Come as a nomad, go-back with lots of memories.

My trip to Bir was planned as a pause and restart moment, and Bunker played a huge role in making it happen. What started off as just a hostel stay, became something eventually memorable for the rest of my life. Bunker turned out to be a home away from home. I am sure, this will be my touch-base for all trips to places in Himalayas for future. Can't wait to come back again!
