We have a stack of games like Jenga, Monopoloy, Game of Life, Chutes and Ladders, Checkers, Chess and decks of playing cards.
Sugar Mountain is great for snowboarders (and skiers of course). They blow snow all season long, and there is always snow there--no matter what the forecast is anywhere in north carolina, there is snow at sugar mountain slopes.
It is a perfect for young families who want to teach their children to ski or snowboard. there are all types of levels of trails and its just big enough to enjoy for a week, yet small enough that you dont get lost.
The North Carolina mountains are a favorite vacation destination for all seasons--winter, spring, summer or fall. The ski mountains of western North Carolina are the finest in the region. The North Carolina Moutains have some of the finest hiking in the country. Linville Caves are a favorite destination. SugarMoutain, BeechMountain and Hawks Rise have challenging skiing and snowboarding for all skill levels. We are located on near the top of Little Sugar Mountain. While this is not a 'ski-in /ski-out' house, it is only 4 minutes drive to Sugar Mountain Ski area. You can also take the free mountain shuttle brings you directly to the ski area and runs every hour. There is an inner-tube run for non-skiers or those with young children. There are several advantages to being located a few minutes away from the slopes: many people that stay 'on the slopes' or in a 'ski-in/ski-out' condo or home say the constant ski traffic of cars is bothersome and the loud whine from the snow-blowing machines which are running 24hours per day can affect sleep.
Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain is not only the best for winter snow skiing, it makes a great vacation year round. In the spring, early season the buds are bursting. Summer in the North Carolina Mountains is perfect for hiking, swimming and boating. Autumn may be the most picturesque season. Go no further than your balcony to see the mountains leaves painted with blazing red, orange and yellow. Winter again and time for another ski season. Forget the beach. Great skiing, great price, perfect for kids, easy to get there. Come visit Western North Carolina and vacation in the North Carolina Mountains. The land of Daniel Boone. Come stay with us, for any reason or season!

Great place and view was amazing. Close to everything. We got a couple inches of snow and roads up the mountain were cleared very quickly. Definitely will come back.

We loved our stay at the cabin! The back deck has a million dollar view of the mountains and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset. The beds are very comfortable and we slept well. We all enjoyed watching movies in front of the fire. The house is well-stocked with everything you need including plenty of firewood. We especially appreciated ice melt being provided as we got just a little snow which was fun for the kids. The house is very close to one of the ski lifts and the older kids were able to walk there no problem. We also enjoyed use of the indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna/gym just a short drive up the hill at Sugartop condo. The owner is super knowledgeable and friendly/responsive for anything you need during the stay.

The view is beautiful. Beds are comfortable. Parking area is great. Location to Sugar Mountain is so convenient and easy. Communication with owner was fantastic.
The home is basic and hasn’t been updated in a while. If you are looking for modern or luxury, this may not be the home for you.

Took my son skiing for his first time. Great location and cozy home. The owner always responded in a timely manner. My son loved being able to go to the pool and hot tub after a long day at the slopes! Highly recommend the home for a family stay.

Beautiful views. Well appointed. Home is a bit dated and could use some upgrades, but it definitely met our needs and we had a wonderful time!

Perfect location with everything we needed for a fun and comfortable winter getaway.

Perfect location close to everything. Just minutes from Boone, Banner Elk the parkway and all of the areas best attractions. Easy to get to. HUGE long range views but with easy access.

My husband and I loved the gorgeous view. We are both athletic, and we enjoyed running up and down Sugar Mountain.

We enjoyed our stay. The views are stunning, fun activities nearby, and the house was very comfortable. We enjoyed hanging out by the fireplaces inside and on the porch and had a great relaxing time as a family.
The communications with the property manager were great - very prompt and he was able to address our questions right away.
We home to come back soon.

Owner was wonderfully kind, informative, and responsive. Driving 2 minutes up the hill to use the indoor pool/sauna/steam room/hot tub at the condominium building after days of skiing was key. Kids loved the stand up video game, and we parents crushed them in Asteroids. Cabin is rustic and cozy with a stunning view. The chair and couch are probably past their life expectancy.

Million dollar view from this deck for BOTH sunrise and sunset. Very peaceful with lots of visiting birds and deer. Loved the fireplace inside and the outdoor firepit. Quiet but super close to sugar slopes, golf course, grocery. In winter, definitely take either 4wd, Awd or chains just on case. We also spent one evening in cool town of Boone. Also close to Beech Mt. Owner is very responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Enjoyed this nice, roomy, comfortable home. Close to Sugar Mountain skiing and convenient. Great views

This house is close to a lot of beautiful hikes, but make sure to plan to spend a good amount of time on the back porch of this house. The view rivals what you will find on the Parkway. Get out bed at least 1/2 hour before sunrise and watch the kaleidoscope of color on the mountain scenery. Stay out there for hours as it changes. Also enjoy the variety of birds that come to the feeder and the deer in the back yard. If you manage to pry yourself from the balcony to see the sites in the area, come back for sunset on the deck. After sunset, enjoy the stars. This is a perfect place to feel wonder.

View of the mountains was awesome!!! Great get away location and close to many sites. Well furnished.

The view from this house is extraordinary. The layout didn’t work perfectly because of the makeup of our group, but would probably work for most folks.

House is very comfortable, three bathrooms is a big plus. The views are breathtaking

This property was amazing! Very Clean and Very nice!!! Highly recommend!

The cabin itself is great, has an amazing view of the mountains, and when the sun sets, it's really nice. It is very close to Sugar Mtn. The owner provided a very detailed handout with tips and recommendations. Would stay here again, but not President Day weekend.

We had such a great weekend! The house was perfect for our family! We had 6 adults and a 1 year old and a 4 year old. The downstairs worked perfectly for the children and their parents! The bedrooms upstairs were perfect for the other two adults. Everyone had their own bathroom, which was nice. Beautiful views! We even had a little snow. The house is well stocked and the heat works really well. I mean, really well😂 We found out quickly how base board heat works! Wonderful house and perfect location!!!!

Very convenient to so many places. We went to Beech Mtn, Banner Elk and Boone. All were within a half an hour drive. We loved the house. Great fireplace in the comfortable living room. Our favorite part had to be the view from the back deck. We loved watching the birds and occasional squirrel on the bird feeder. Downstairs, we had a family of deer came to visit each morning. Really nice view of the mountains too. Would definitely stay here again, any time of year.

Great for a family or couple (us 😊). Central location. Close to all the major NC slopes (esp Sugar) and great location to plan hikes. Good food nearby or cook at home. Host is awesome. Just ask questions if his extensive suggestion book doesn’t fill in the details. World class fireplace. Highly recommend

Wonderful views and nice cabin.
Our only advice would be to replace linens. The sheets on the bed downstairs were torn.
4.8
Property was GREAT, view EVEN BETTER. Host was easy to contact and very accomodating.
4.8
We had an amazing stay! This property has amazing views and is well stocked with everything needed. We enjoyed opening up the French doors to the back deck and enjoying wonderful mountain views. The owner was very accommodating and provided incredibly helpful information about the property and surrounding area.

Instead of going to the beach for the holiday we decided to switch it up and head to the mountains. And we have no regrets. The house is located about 30 min from all attractions (perfectly centered).
The highlight ? The deck ! The view is absolutely breath taking. I highly recommend Fourth of July weekend because watching the fireworks go off all over the mountain was an incredible experience and we highly recommend it.
The owner sent a great email with tons of information which helped make our trip seamless.
We will likely book again!

Great communication. Rustic mountain getaway
4.8
House was well stocked with stay essentials!! Views were awesome!! Bedrooms and bathrooms were to our liking! Area was awesome!! The trips to the pool at Sugar Top were fun and easy!! Only two negatives; downstairs room under bed area has not been swept in a while and the dishwasher was not secured to the countertop and would fall out the spot when loaded.
4.8
Home is very close to Sugar and the views are amazing. We enjoyed a few days of skiing and checking out Blowing Rock and Boone. Great time and great communication with the owner.

Great place to stay

Coming from FL, we were a little worried about the weather. Owner was great with setting us set up with getting the driveway cleared of snow and the walkway plowed as well as having firewood delivered. He also offerd to let us use the facilities at their condo at the top of the mountain. Overall, very good experience and owners quick to respond to any questions we had.
4.8
Great house, view is amazing. If there is snow falling when you arrive, you need to park up the street which is inconvenient. But once the snow stops you can have the plow come for $35. Owner is great and very helpful!
4.8
Great location, privacy, great get away if you are looking to relax but still be in location of ski resort.
4.8
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this property and would recommend it to any of my friends. The owner of this property was extremely helpful. The neighborhood was beautiful and the scenery from the porch was breathtaking. It was hard to leave.
4.8
The location of this cabin is perfect! So close to sugar mountain ski resort, grandfather mountain, fun activities and shopping! The views are amazing as well! We enjoyed our cozy cabin stay!
4.8
Our second stay, just a great location, close to everything and an incredible view off the back deck !!!! Comfortable home and a great setting. We'll be BACK !!!!
4.8
This was the best stay we ever had since coming up here for years. The view is amazing and the 3 bedrooms and 3 baths are perfect. Love the apartment style basement! A must stay when you visit the mountains! We love that it is less than 10 minutes from the ski slopes! We watched the super bowl this year on the large flat screen TV in front of an amazing fire place. The wrap around deck had so many views to take pictures of. We also liked the privacy of not having homes right on top of us. Perfect vacation house!!!!!

Very open and spacious, clean, beautiful mountain views, cable and internet access helpful:) Close to sugar mountain and all amenities were as advertised. Will re-visit next year! Thank you.
