Lovely cottage and very spacious. There is a pub in walking distance which serves lovely food. The kitchen is well equipped and the log fires are an added benefit however the cottage is really warm so the fires are not essential.
Not a negative regarding the cottage or it’s facility’s more regarding previous guest, the yard outside was full of dog poo, my husband cleared over 10 piles. Not what you need when your starting your holiday.

The house was spacious. But also warm and cosy. Staff contacted us quickly after booking and responded to our queries. The house is fully equipped with more than you realise you might need. We especially loved the farmhouse kitchen.

We had a lovely time, thank you, lovely cottage, very convenient for walks around the Matlock area. Thank you for the treats for us all.

Utterly charming and comfortable cottage, exceptionally well equipped and spotlessly clean. There was nothing that we looked for and couldn’t find! Very responsive owners who’ll get back to you swiftly and positively very quickly.
Small niggle, but curtains at bedroom windows could have been thicker/darker. Sun sets on bedroom windows and trying to get a baby to sleep extremely difficult in the early evening - had to resort to taping black bin bags across the window. Maybe install a black out blind?

Charming cottage, warm and cosy. Hosts responded quickly to messages sent. Kindly set up a camp bed for my daughter. Beautiful location.
Bed /mattress wasn't quite right for me, but this is a personal preference rather than a problem with the bed.

Everything!!! The cottage was beautiful, so rustic, cosy, warm, relaxing! It was spacious, had a comfortable living room with a large TV and open fire, the kitchen was big and contained everything you could need! Upstairs both bedrooms were a good size with a really comfortable bed and the bathroom was large with nice bath and powerful shower. Nice garden area too! The owners were so helpful and accommodating, we had a nice bottle of wine on arrival, asked how we were and were constantly available to answer our queries! Can't find a fault

Very authentic cottage with a few mod cons
On arrival was very cold and took several hours to bring up to a comfortable temperature.

The cottage was lovely, very comfortable indeed, really big bed, facilities were great, they left us a welcome gift of wine and cookies and milk in the fridge too, much appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay.

There was a code box, was simply to use and straight access to the beautiful cottage
Was only one thing missing a corkscrew, everything else was perfect

The cottage had a warm and cosy atmosphere and had many items that made it feel like a traditional cottage. The sitting areas at the back of the cottage were warm and sunny. The kitchen had excellent cooking facilities and a large table to sit at. The bedrooms were quite spacious especially for a cottage.

The location was perfect. The Asda nearby was very convenient and the views of the gardens and fields nearby from the upstairs window were beautiful. The house was very well appointed and we didn't lack for anything. The fires were easy to start (although only needed once). The bathroom was amazing. It was so large with the option of a shower (with excellent water pressure) or a claw foot bath. The kitchen was very large too with a very large professional style over/stovetop. We really couldn't have asked for better!!
From the pictures on the website, we thought there was pub very nearby. The pub WAS very close - maybe a 5 minute walk, but everytime we went it was closed for "unexpected reasons" . It actually appeared to be going through some kind of renovation. This really didn't impact our stay but it would have been nice to have a drink without worrying about driving down narrow country lanes.

The house is beautiful, around 300 years old. It has many retaining features and some new ones too. There's plenty of space, different places to relax in and 2 toilets (very important with a family!). You can walk to a few local pubs, and the drive to places like Matlock is only about 15-20 mins. The kitchen was very well equipped and we loved the dining table in the middle of it which made for a good family meal times.
We were there during Storm Eunice which was great as the house is made of stone (and won't blow away) but we really felt the cold in the upstairs large bedroom. There is a small radiator and an additional electric one but we weren't comfortable plugging that in knowing it would rinse the electricity bill! There are 2 wood burners which do a great job of keeping you warm in that particular room, but elsewhere it can be a bit chilly.

A lovely well equipped cottage, lovely and warm when we walked in, nice and clean, lots of attention to detail eg; hand moisturiser, cling film and foil, dog treats and even a packet of cookies.Loved the log burners, ready to light with logs to keep it going.
Nothing really. We found the beds rather hard in the master bedroom but that is only personal preference!
The towels were a bit small after a bath but not a real problem either.

Beautiful cottage inside and out, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Everything we needed to make our holiday special. We both agreed we would look at booking here again in the future. There is a pub called the Greyhound just a short walk away that was very welcoming with great food and friendly to dogs.
