We had a great time staying in the old farmhouse. Stayed for a long weekend. Close to okemo and the town. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking and staying in.
Would definitely stay there again ☺️

We stayed at this property in order to ski Okemo. Only 10-15 minutes away. A very easy drive. The house is split into 2 condos; we stayed on the bottom floor. House was perfectly clean. The items that you would want to be modern were- kitchen appliances, tv, bathroom, windows. The rest of the house still has the old-style farmhouse charm; a perfect blend.
Beds were very comfortable and the house heated up and maintained heat well- no drafts. Our dog loved being off-leash and racing through the field. 25 acres gave her plenty of room to run and play. The farm is a corner property but both roads only had very sporadic vehicles and the roads are also very slow to drive. We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay here. If we ski Okemo again, we will definitely be back to this property.

Dog friendly with wonderful neighbors
This place is spacious and charming, with a scenic backdrop and a terrific neighbor across the street with dogs. Make sure you get the door code before you go, because there is no cell service and the Wifi isn't open. Beds were small and too soft.

Excellent get away into nature, peace and quite, hiking, and good food
Zero complaints. Would definitely go again.

Idyllic stay
What a perfect place to stay in Vermont. It was an ideal escape and we felt we really got away from it all for the week we were there (we worked remotely from the apartment). At the same time, it was only 10 minutes from Ludlow and Proctorsville where we could get dinner, groceries, etc. The apartment itself was amazing (incredibly strong wifi!) and the outdoor space was divine. I could happily spend the rest of my life in the hammock / adirondack chairs. What a wonderful place that we can't wait to revisit!

Peace and quiet
This property is historic and the owners are very nice. It is a place to truly get away from it all. Groceries and other services are close enough though.
It is a terrific place for young children to run and play!
I most enjoyed the hammock!
I imagine it would also be lovely in fall or winter when a fire would be appropriate.

Peace, quiet, snow, and dog friendly
Spacious. Wow, we were not expecting this. We really felt like we were at home. Most importantly, the property is dog friendly and the dogs (and humans) felt more than welcomed by the owners. The location was PERFECT. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful views, and within 10 minutes from a market and more importantly Okemo ski resort. Plenty of on site hiking / snowmobile trails. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals. Better wifi than we have at home - and secure so that we were able to telework when not skiing. A great value for the money.

Fall foliage
The Big Farm was a great place to stay. The views were spectacular, with lots of color from the trees. The first floor condo had everything that I needed. It was great that the property was so close to Ludlow, with lots of restaurants as an option. I would definitely like to return next year!

Great Vermont getaway
Sheryl & Trevor were great hosts, very welcoming and communication was easy. The property is beautiful and relaxing with swings and play areas for the kids, lots of room for the kids and dog to run around. We used the firepit and BBQ. The farm house was beautiful with comfortable beds and new appliances. Great to have washer and dryer.
Location was perfect- a few miles from Echo lake and buttermilk falls. We would highly recommend for a peaceful vacation

It was exactly what I wanted in a Vermont vacation house
Cozy home with a beautiful view of a Vermont farm. I loved it and was sad to leave. Our hosts responded immediately when we had questions about the WiFi. It was perfect.

LOVED the Big Barn Farm !
Had a wonderful stay at the Big Barn Farm & we look forward to visiting in the future! Very clean and well-maintained & SO close to Okemo for skiing! We loved our daily visits by Lucy-Lu (the owners' dog)...she was so welcoming and friendly! I would highly recommend!!

Our return visit was just as great as the first time...
We love this place. Although there are so many really good restaurants that we have frequented in nearby Ludlow, we decided to cook in a family meal our last night. The kitchen is quite roomy and comfortable enough for two cooks! The view is pastoral Vermont at its finest. We hope to keep coming back to this place!

Cozy condo for a ski weekend
Great place within an easy drive to Okemo. Condo had everything we needed to stay with our two kiddos - kitchen was well equipped and the queen bed was comfy!

Love this antique VT farmhouse and location is close enough to Okemo, though all backroads to get there, so plan on 15-20 minutes. That said it is a lovely drive.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful apartment! The place was clean, well furnished and in a beautiful setting. It was so nice sitting next to the big bay windows, having coffee and looking out at an idyllic setting. Sheryl was an awesome host, with great communication!
We'd go back in a heartbeat!!!

Amazing stay!!
This place was perfect! It’s conveniently located a short scenic drive from Okemo mountain and from Main Street in Ludlow. The owners were very friendly and accomadating and recommended a couple of great restaurants for us. The condo was VERY clean and had all the necessities. We are already talking about planning our next trip! This place was the prefect cozy Vermont getaway.

We love this place. Have stayed twice and are already booked to return!
We stayed in the downstairs condo of this house while my son and his family stayed upstairs. What a wonderful arrangement! The condo is spacious and extremely clean. The owners , who live on-site in a separate building, are very helpful. We are already booked to return next month. When there, we ski at Okemo, a short drive away.

Great Place for my family.
We had an awesome time. The condo was clean and very accommodating for my family. It was a nice getaway from our Okemo skiing adventure. We liked it so much we are looking to see when we can go back.

Amazing
The owners were very helpful. There was plenty of room for us. And the beds were comfortable. My only suggestion would be to clear the musty smell from the entry to the house...

Lovely Hosts, Lovely Setting
We had a fantastic time staying at the farm for a family skiing vacation. The owner and her family were so friendly and helpful, the property was perfect for our needs, and we loved the space for our kids and dog to play on the farm. We will be back!

Country Living and Serenity
Country living and serenity at it’s finest! The first floor of a large old farm house surrounded by 25 acres of open fields. The house is very comfortable and has been updated with all new appliances and a new heating system. Sitting at the windowed alcove for breakfast and lunch provided a view of the snow covered fields and the opportunity to view the local wildlife. Convenient to Proctorsville, Ludlow and Okemo mountain. A wonderful place to stay while skiing Okemo.

Great place!!! Comfy, clean and beautiful area. Perfect if bringing dogs!
Really lovely clean house with lots of space. We had a great time easily getting to okemo and leaving dogs at house. Could then run them around the property and play.

Great Place to Stay
We took a chance that this place would satisfy us. The photos look lovely but there werent many reviews I think because this was a fairly new listing. We arrived late in the evening on a very cold, windy night. We drove beyond the lights of Ludlow and into the dark mountain roads. What an adventure already. The house was easy to find and is located along a beautiful Vermont country road. Lights on the barn were a nice welcome. The first floor where we two adu;ts and two teens stayed was roomy, attractive and comfortable. Clearly the house and grounds had history yet the furnishings and decor are updated, clean and blended well with the surroundings. The kitchen is very spacious and outfitted with new appliances including a washer and dryer. All appliances and furnishings are new with a few vintage accessory pieces. The beds were quite comfy and the kids said the same about the bunk beds. They mentioned that they were suprised at how comfortable the beds were. We had plenty of heat and warm water for showers. The bathroom was also very clean and very comfortable. It was clear to us that much thought went into the comfort of guests. I have to mention the wonderful large windows with the lovely views -amazing. This was the kind of experience I would encourage others to have - not another hotel room but to experience the "place". Its clear to me that "that " is what the hosts aimed for and they hit the mark with us. We agreed that this location would be attractive during the other seasons too.
When we booked the accomodations the price changed from the initial fee and it was explained to us that Home Away adds additional fees that dont show in the original listing which was our only discomfort. We feel that the price should be clear from the beginning.. My husband called the owners for clarity and agreeable terms. We've seen this happen before when trying to book reservations.
