About this house rental
You’ll love this amazing modern waterfront retreat on Galveston Bay with large private pool. Walk to the beach and hiking trails or do a little fishing from the back yard. Open concept floor plan with floor to ceiling water views. Chef's kitchen with Viking appliances, cooking essentials and seating for 10. This home is perfect for couples, families, small groups or small corporate retreats! Only 30 minutes from downtown Houston.
Neighborhood overview:
A 5 minute walk to sylvan beach, Minutes to The Kemah Boardwalk, south shore harbor, NASA and the Houston yacht club!
Other things to note:
- Pool/spa is not heated, but can be heated for an additional fee. $200 minimum for up to 4 days and then $50 per day after. If you would like the pool/spa heated for your stay, you must request at least 48hrs in advance of your arrival. No parties, no outside guests or loud music on the patio.
- Limited Liability for the pool and pool equipment. Our pool is outdoors and fronts to the bay. This means that the pool and spa are exposed to the elements including leaves falling in, debris blown in from the wind, rain, algae formation etc. The pipes and pool heaters have to withstand extreme temperatures and weather conditions. When something breaks it can take time to get parts and technicians out. Because of this, our liability is limited to 10% of your nightly rate if anything fails with the pool or pool equipment and we are unable to repair within 24 hours. We will always try to make your stay as pleasant as possible but sometimes it is out of our control.
- Please note while the house is child-friendly in the sense that we allow children, you do need to watch your children and not leave them unattended, as the pool does not have a gate and there is direct ocean access from the back yard.
- Please keep in mind this is a coastal property in Texas and there are naturally a lot of bugs and other local animals around. We have monthly service for spraying inside and around the property and have several Dynatraps to help control the situation. It is also very important to keep all doors closed. Leaving doors open for only a minute can cause bugs can come in. Also, leaving food and trash out will attract all kinds of unwanted visitors which is why we suggest you store and properly dispose of your food items. We do not give any type of refund for insect sightings or related issues.
- As the detailed photos show, two of the upstairs bedrooms are open to and overlook the living space below, they are also connected upstairs. These two rooms also have stunning views and are the best place to see the sunrise over the water.

Wow!! I can’t say enough good things about this home. Every morning we caught the beautiful
Sunrise from the master bedroom. The house is very well furnished an had a gorgeous and functional kitchen. We were able to cook dinner almost every night in the house and ate at the outdoor table. Love the open concept of the house where you can really absorb the views of the Galveston Bay and sailboats going by. The house was very clean beds/ bedding very comfortable. The house is located in a cute safe neighborhood with very friendly neighbors.
We ended up walking several times to sylvan beach (a public beach) just a few Minutes away. We also checked out Kemah Bay, Nasa and the battleship.
The host Chris was very accommodating and even left champagne on the counter for us. I cannot say enough good things about the house. We will be back soon!! Thanks again!!

Place was filthy. Every corner and surface was dirty. Pool was full of debris. Clear, plastic furniture that was unable, or unstable to even sit in. Bathrooms were dirty the floors were dirty it felt like the pictures were taken 10 years ago compared to the property today. I messaged the owner explaining to him that after the first night my wife and I didn’t even stay for the remainder of our trip told him about these things and I didn’t even get a response. I wasn’t looking for a refund I just wanted to let him know and I got no response. Rusty hinges on the refrigerator doors, dirty shelving in the refrigerator. Outside the property was dirty and dingy. All of the windows looking out of the ocean were dirty. I really hope that they took the cleaning deposit and actually did something with it this time.

What a letdown. The view was beautiful but everything else was terrible. Tried multiple times to reach owner and got no response. Outlets in master bedroom and dining room don’t work. Many lights throughout the home don’t work. Live roaches in bathrooms. Towels were old and stained. Yuk. No batteries in tv remote for master bedroom. This place is an absolute mess. Stains on floors from water leaks, broken windows, trash in backyard…both construction trash and someone
else’s trash…maybe previous guest? I could go on and on. Wish I could post pictures of the disgusting mess this place is. I cannot believe VRBO allows this.

We rented this place because of the high standards reflected in the photographs. I was willing to pay a premium to celebrate my wife’s birthday. When we first arrived we were excited about the view and the layout. It didn’t take long for us to have our hopes & expectations destroyed. This home has so many issues it’s obvious very little care goes into it. The issues that we experienced not only reflect potential health issues but also safety issues. They are as follows:
1. Multiple roof leaks we had to put containers under
2. Water damage in the ceilings that have not been taken care of.
3. A roach infestation so disgusting my wife woke up with one floating in the drink she set on the nightstand
4. Our third guess received a positive diagnosis for bedbugs.
5. An inoperable dual master shower that had no water pressure. There was no pressure because the leaks were in the plumbing that brought the pipes into the shower.
6. There was a rat in the home and this was not the first time this had occurred based upon conversations with the neighbors who informed us of previous guest experiences.
7. There were large chunks of stucco missing that invited water into the home. There were also many areas where the stucco was bubbling due to moisture in the walls.
8. Both sinks in the master were clogged and one of them, when turned on, did not go into the sink but on the countertop which ruined some of my wife’s makeup.
9. There were rotting wood piles on the side of the home as well as on the front of the home that are ideal homes for rodents & bugs.
10. When we arrived there was a trash bag sitting on the ground next to the garage that had been chewed through.
11. There were broken stairs that we slipped on.
12. There were lights that did not work
13. The grass didn’t appear to have been mowed for weeks and the overgrowth on the side of the home were ideal locations for the above mentioned bugs & rodents.
14. Broken windows
15. Overall general cleanliness was subpar
This home needs a visit by the health department who we are going to be contacting as well. There is so much potential with this property but it’s obvious the renters only care about money and not the safety and security of the people there. It’s unfathomable when considering the premium price they charge. The sad part is that others have experienced the same thing. Avoid this place. I can’t imagine they’ll be able to rent it once the health department sees it. Shame

this is house not for families, between the offensive art work, lights out, broken stairs my son fell down, bugs everywhere and being extorted for an extra money for my dogs that I entered from the beginning beofre getting access to the the keys which I have been infomred i will not be getting back even though they made zero mess and stayed outside. Owner is rude and the neighbors hate this property.

We had a great time.... pool was great for the kids and home was as described. Open concept home so you can hear everything from bottom floor but we were loud anyway! Would recommend it!

Everything was very clean and the owners were very easy to get a hold of. Great kitchen if you like to cook and a beautiful backyard overlooking the ocean with views from the upstairs bedroom. Fairly quick and effortless to get around the area with many restaurants around.

The house was beautiful and the sunrises were insanely beautiful.

We and our adult kids brought in the New Year 2022 here.
House has a great view and all upgraded amenities.
We had an issue with the pool but the host Chris addressed our concern. This is definitely a place we will come again. Look forward to our next stay. Thank you Chris.

Stayed here with my wife and our kids plus the in laws. Had a great stay! Very comfortable inside. Kids had a blast in the pool area. Not to mention we had a lot of luck catching fish from the backyard. Overall a very nice place!

We were very happy with the View. The house was very nice and spacious. The grounds could have used a clean up, and grass was vey long. Pool guy stopped by and cleaned the pool on the only day we stayed at the house all day to swim, which we couldn't swim for a few hours due to all the chemicals. Would have been nice to know in advance, we would have planned differently.

This house was amazing! Chris was very quick with responding to our needs per question!
Both sides of the house just needs a little attention in the grass plus the the patio furniture pillows need to be replaces! Also! The balcony lock needs to be fixed up stairs as well but other than that the house is perfect for a girls weekend out!!!

This house was aesthetically beautiful. So much so that the bride cried when she walked in and saw it. She loved the beautiful view from her bedroom on a daily basis. The check in/out process was seamless and easy for us. We had a group of 10 friends for a bachelorette weekend. We were worried about it only being two bathrooms with a large group but people were courteous and made it work. The couple issues we had were that there were no wash cloths in the house and definitely should be something listed in description so that people can know to bring their own. The plumbing in the 2nd bathroom had some issues throughout the weekend. Chris (the host) came right away to address it. We didn’t heat the pool because we had such a busy weekend and didn’t have time to use it. We bought sheets from the store to cover the outside patio chairs, they were worn from the weather. It’s important to note the futon in the room with the bunk beds does not let out so essentially that’s just a couch. The welcome champagne was a nice touch and overall the group really enjoyed our stay.

My family and I enjoyed this property for 4 days and 3 nights even without the best weather! Highlights from our stay were the sunrises from the Master bedroom (everyone needs this in their vacation life), the gorgeous and functional updated kitchen, the views from the common areas, the spacious living room for our infant and pups to spread out and the super friendly neighbors. They kept inviting our dog over to hang out with them. Chris and Kelsey were responsive and accommodating hosts who clearly love sharing their property.
We had the pool heated and it made a huge difference for the April cool front that blew in. It was mid-60's-70's outside and the heated water felt great. The built-in crib was a convenient touch and the cleanliness was top notch. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a getaway that still wants easy access to Houston or the coast, without feeling like you're in a touristy hotspot.

We had a tranquil and absolutely amazing 2 weeks here and the neighbours next door are super nice (important as no fence separates back yard facing ocean). The house is very updated although you can see wear and tear from being oceanfront - nonetheless felt luxurious. Be mindful that 2 bedrooms (master and adjoining sitting area) are connected and face ocean and open to living/dining area. It suited our family of 4 just fine but may not suit groups needing privacy. Our children are 10&12, but this property would be a bit tricky for those with young children as the drop from the terrace to the pool is high and the rocks a bit precarious at Ocean Front. For our older kids, no biggie. My son fished daily onsite and we walked daily to the link ve bait shop. We also paid to heat the pool - totally worth it! Owners were responsive and gracious.
