About this cabin rental

Beautiful quiet getaway in the Black Hills, located only 10 minutes from Custer State Park, 25 minutes from Mt Rushmore, 35 minutes from Rapid City, SD. Lots of hiking, fishing, wild life and beautiful country. Guided horse back rides offered by J & F Tails and Trails next to the property.

We have two single units that are similar to hotel style rooms. Each unit has a queen bed, double sleeper sofa, and a private bath. The units have a 4.5 cubic fridge and freezer (big – mini fridge), a coffee pot, and a microwave. There are plenty of options for cooking with a private barbecue with a side burner outside, Blackstone griddle, and the fire-pit with a cooking grate. There is a kitchenette with a sink to wash dishes. The units are stocked with both disposable kitchen wares and non-disposable coffee cups and utensils for cooking if you wish to cook in instead of eating out.

The unit has heat and air conditioning, free internet, and satellite TV. We provide bed linens, towels, and kitchen utensils. The rooms are cleaned when you check out and a one-time cleaning fee is charged. If you need additional towels or bed linens during your stay, just let us know.

The property has a fire pit for all guests enjoyment and a basketball hoop for the kids to burn off their energy.

The scenery and location were fabulous! We enjoyed the landscape of the neighborhood and the views in behind our room where we sat in the morning with our coffee and in the evening with our wine. The room itself was decorated very nicely in a horse theme, and it was supplied with everything we needed. It was within driving distance of all the places we wanted to see: Mr. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park. I would definitely return!

This was a great place. It was very clean, temperature was great, and it was close to Mt Rushmore and other national parks. We used both the queen bed and sofa bed. It was safe and secure and I would definitely stay there again!

Our stay was very nice, Matt was a great host and while we didn’t need much from him, it always felt like he was just a message away if we did. I loved the location, as it was away from everything else so the perfect place to relax after the days activities. The views were gorgeous, and overall just felt so peaceful. The room was very nice and tidy when we arrived, and well taken care of. Matt supplied many items we may need during the stay, which was very much appreciated. We loved our stay very much, and would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely loved it here! You get poor cell service. But the have wifi.they have cows you can feed and pet.The get away from the big city! I liked the rustic/ cowboy theme. The stars in the dark night sky was just a added bonus.

The cabin was very clean and quiet. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. There was just enough activity of people to not feel isolated, but still quiet enough to relax and enjoy nature.

Had a great, comfortable stay. My husband developed allergies, so we aren't sure if there was maybe animal dander in the room or simply unexpected seasonal allergies. The room was stocked with more kitchenwares, including a toaster, than listed in the description, so that was a pleasant surprise!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Ghost Canyon. The room was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The hosts were extremely attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the views outside on the patio, using the fire pit, grill and Blackstone griddle, and our kids loved the animals and the yard games. We spent most of our daytimes exploring the Black Hills area, so coming back after a long day to cook our own meals and relax by the fire was perfect! We definitely want to plan another trip!

We stayed at Ghost Canyon and had a blast! It was our second anniversary trip and we took our four month old little girl with! The place is beautiful and very peaceful! They have cows and horses that you can pet , and you see deer every day! We also got to use a black stone griddle to cook breakfast every morning! If you are looking for a place with great hosts and family friendly this is the place! Definitely recommend! They also have a basketball hoop there as well!

Ghost Canyon Getaway was one of the greatest places I’ve ever stayed. The hosts were phenomenal, incredibly kind and warm. They offered me Easter dinner and company and ensured I had everything I needed for my long weekend away. The location was gorgeous and I am looking forward to going back as soon as I can. Our first impression, after seeing 5.5 miles on a dirt rode, we thought horror movie for sure! Lol. The further we traveled down that rode, the more excited we were about the beauty that was waiting for us in the morning. I won’t go into details about beds, amenities, etc.. it was all perfect! Even better, the turkeys lining up to go up and roost for the night. Watching the deer come in and graze with the cattle and the horses. Even though the wind was blowing hard, the stars were brilliant, and the canyon was quiet. This was my first visit to the Black Hills, I have fallen in love and will be back for sure! I'm sure it would have been a wonderful stay but we had an accident on the way that made our vehicle unable to make the trip. We had to cancel at the last minute. I called Matt on the road and he was very gracious and understanding. We truly hope to be able to reschedule next fall or summer. Thanks to Matt for being so understanading. Beautiful country setting! Matt and Jennifer greeted us as soon as we pulled up. The space (#2) was clean and welcoming. The view was perfect and relaxing to enjoy our morning coffee. My teenage kids even were impressed and enjoyed our stay. These Michiganders would definitely stay again.

The horseback riding next door was cool. The owners were really great. The place was clean and absolutely beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and worked out great. All of it was great. A stove would have been nice. The place was a little bit smallish. Over all really nice!!
