About this house rental
Sip a drink on the front porch, ride a bike, walk to the beach, go antiquing/fishing/sailing/golfing or just watch the beautiful sunsets. Our 'Southern Living II' is the 'sister house' to 'Southern Living on the Eastern Shore'. It is located between the Central Park, and the town beach, both a 5 minute walk to either spot, as well as a 5 minute walk to the downtown attractions of Kelly's Gingernut, The Shanty, and Cape Charles Coffee House Restaurants. There is an Arnold Palmer/ Jack Nicklaus Golf Course within a 10 minute drive. The new boatyard and marina, along with the redesigned Oyster Farm Seafood Eatery is a MUST see. The white sand beach (cleaned and graded daily) is the perfect place for children to play, swim, shelling, and search for sea glass. This 1920 house has was remodeled in 2004 and again with upgrades in 2013 and 2017 after we purchased it. It is one of the largest dwelling rental properties in town sitting on 3 1/2 lots that are fenced in for relaxing while the kids are at play. The house is 4 levels. A refinished game room is in the partial finished basement with 2 smart tvs and 2 gaming systems. The house has refinished hardwood floors throughout. The first floor boasts a huge Master bedroom suite with an oversized tub and walk in shower, with a private balcony. All new appliances throughout the kitchen and laundry room, a walk in pantry, dining area that seats 12, a large living area, along with a screened in porch for night time cocktails & fellowship. Walk up to the second floor (in one of the 2 staircases that the kids LOVE!) to find a fully remodeled bathroom, a children's themed double bunk bed room, and 3 queen bedrooms. One more floor up is a finished attic with a Full bed and twin bed and in 2021 has a full bath, giving the home full baths. There is a 1/2 bath off the kitchen, a and an outdoor shower with both hot/cold water, with an additional cottage to store bikes, beach chairs and such. The property offers backyard ally parking as well as street parking, and has 2 hot water heater sources as well as 2 zoned Central Air Units. We have made every effort to duplicate the fantastic feedback from our first property to truly make it a 'home away from home'.

We rented the largest house with a first floor bedroom in Cape Charles. We spent a full week. The house is perfect for a large gathering. Room in the alley to park three golf carts and a car. The attic top floor bedroom is very comfortable.

This home was very spacious, well maintained and in a great location. It had plenty of room for our large family group of 9 adults and 4 children. It was especially nice to have the spacious first floor master wing, the large screened in front porch with a porch swing, spacious yard and ample seating areas in the living room, dining room and kitchen.

We stayed over a long weekend in September with my kids, parents and siblings and had a fantastic time. The kids loved the bunk room and toys, and had a blast with the floats at the beach. Jenn was very communicative and made sure we had a pack n play and booster seat for my 1 year old, which was so thoughtful. The house is right next to the park which was great for playground visits. Overall this is a great home for large families.

This house was great! Very close walk to the beach. It was perfect for our group which had multiple families with young children and babies. Plenty of room to spread out and the house was stocked with all the essentials.

We so enjoyed our stay in Cape Charles. Jen, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. The weather was not the greatest but it didn't bother us a bit - there was plenty of room to spread out at the house. The kids played on the front porch and we were able to enjoy the beach later in the day. The house is perfect for a big family! Thanks for allowing us to stay.

This house was perfect for the two families staying. We had four adults and four kids total. There were not many homes with enough bedrooms for our group to pick from and we couldn't be more pleased with the week we had at this property. The house lay out was great for our group. The younger kids enjoyed the third floor loft room and the screened in porch was perfect for a few rainy evenings. Great location and great house for a CC get away. Also worth mentioning that communication with owners was great all along. And when we got home we realized my daughter left a stuffed animal. Jenn was able to find it and mail it back to us which meant a lot. We'd stay here again for sure!

A charming old house. The front porch, living room, dining room, and kitchen are amazing living spaces. The downstairs bedroom is also nice. The 6th attic bedroom is just that-useable but an attic room for sure. The owners were wonderful communicators.

This was our second year to stay at SLII. We love the location, easy walk to the beach, park and town. The house is well-equipped for families, plenty of space and lots of nice details like beach toys, family games & DVDs. Owners are very nice; you can tell they care about your experience.
