John was a very accommodating host, and the cottage was perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. We will definitely plan on returning!

The facilities are fine except we did not like that there was no way

as long as you don't mind doing the dishes, this is a great location for a Finger lakes vacation. Old-time cottage feel- nothing too fancy, but immediate access to walking and biking in Sampson State park, as well as being a short drive to both Ithaca and Watkin's Glen.

Three teachers needed a summer celebration getaway - and this was a great location. The outdoor area was beautiful…. Quite peaceful and exactly as pictured. The cottage allowed all of us our own space as well as space to hang out together which was great! Would come back!

When we arrived at this house, the first impression was "omg what a view"!!
Nice flat yard that as the pictures show, has a large dock with ample shore access.
Plenty of seating to go sit and gaze out over the lake or watch thebducks and geese swim by.
This house is worth the price just for the view, flat generously large yard and the quiet neighborhood.
There is neighbors close by but far enough away so there is plenty of privacy.
The house is on a dead end road so the traffic is limited to the people who live there.
The house overall was fine for our needs.
The kitchen is small but we only cook one meal and eat out the rest of the time.
The beds were comfortable.
The couches could stand to be updated but again, a non issue.
Any questions i had, were addressed by the owner almost immediately.
Overall, i personally think this place is well worth the price.
Cant wait to return.

Had a wonderful time at this easy access, clean & comfortable cottage. Lakeside dock is perfect for watching lake activity. Separate fire pit area was very enjoyable. Very quiet and private location. Saw loons, kingfisher, great blue and many ducks. Can’t wait until we can return again.

Great place very quite nice Lake view did some boarding. Watkins Glen state park is a must. Bring your hiking shoes for the trails, lots of steps bad knees don’t go. Visited a few wineries near by and a brewery.
Lot to conquer in three days. Good luck have fun and be safe.

The house was spotless and has all the amenities needed. The property is what makes a vacation here memorable. It sits right on Seneca Lake and has a driveway from the road that takes you right to the house, with ample parking for multiple vehicles. There is a nice beach and the lake water is crystal clear. No matter how far I swam out and how deep it was, I could always see down to the bottom! It has a long pier for fishing, and a dock with beautiful Adirondack chairs to take in the most amazing sunsets you will ever see! There is a huge bonfire pit, as well as Kayaks and life jackets. Two picnic tables and a propane grill make for easy outdoor lunch and dinners.
There is privacy between the houses on each side. The area is quiete and peaceful. John, the owner, answers any questions immediately.
It truly is a slice if Heaven!

The cottage was right on the lake and close to everything! The host responded very promptly when I had a question prior to check in.
Watching the sunsets on the dock was the best, absolutely gorgeous.
If you are looking for a no frills clean cottage, this is your place. We would definitely stay again.

The property is located within easy access to lovely small towns and vineyards in the Finger Lake region. The lake activity included more water fowl than boats and great sunsets. One night we even saw fireworks across the lake. We saw a kingfisher, loons, various ducks and gullsA toast to, mergansers and several great blue herons.

Quiet getaway with best sunset views on lake. Nice yard for lawn games. Had a blast with the kayaks on the lake. Loved the location. We brought bikes and there is a path not far from cottage to enjoy. Place was clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again.

I have stayed at many places along Seneca Lake over the years, but none has compared to this one when it comes to the perfect lakefront access. It was so nice to be able to just walk out to the lake without stairs, steep hills, or drop-offs. We went on a multi-generational family trip, and it was so nice that my grandmother could join us by the water without difficulty. The concrete dock featured comfortable furniture, and there were many nice touches outdoors. The house itself was comfortable, clean, well-furnished, and had everything we needed for our stay. Check-in was a breeze. The location is very convenient for visiting the many wineries on the east side of the lake, and there are stores and restaurants within a very short drive. We would book this place again without hesitation!

Johns place was close to everything you want to see with in Seneca and Cayuga Lake. Its adjacent to Sampson State Park. It is 30 minutes from 4-5 breweries and a lot of wineries. Bonavista golf course is a few minutes away. The property is perfect for outdoor activities including having a fire, fishing, cooling on the grill. The house sleeps up to 5 individuals while being reasonably priced for a family of 4-5 people. I will Definitely stay there again next time I go up to the Finger Lakes

We were a party of4 and fit comfortably. The location is right on the lakeshore, with a gravel beach and dock, in the middle of wine country. Our host was extremely easy to deal with and check in was effortless.

This property has the lake life to a T! A very short and easy walk to the lake side along with the dock is a beautiful beginning or ending of the day. Comfortable accommodations and very peaceful at night. Great for just the girls or a family get away.

The cottage was exceptionally clean and had every little thing we needed. The owner was super helpful for questions from the moment I booked right up til the end. Relaxation and rest and beautiful scenery. I'll definitely book this property again.

If you want breathtaking views, Seneca Lake lapping at your back yard, an amazing beach and pier area, privacy, and a trip to remember, then this beautiful spot is for you!
We parked our car upon arrival and never got into it again until we left. This rental has everything you need for a complete vacation right there. The house was spotless, well appointed and comfortable. Outside has a large bonfire area with plenty of firewood at the ready, and a solid wooden rocker and chairs around it. We sat there often watching the boats, kayaks and jet skiers go by in the distance. There are two picnic tables and a gas grill ready to go, which we used daily. The beautiful cement dock area also has amazing wooden chairs on it which overlooked the lake (we sat there every night watching the sun set), and a pier that is wonderful! There is a fishing pole on the pier ready for fishing. Two kayaks were waiting to be used.
The beach area is lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed finding sea glass every day. The water was a perfect temperature for swimming.
It is a quite and peaceful spot. The neighbor to the left (looking towards the lake) have a beautiful privacy fence separating the properties, the property to the right is separated by a very pretty brook and then bank area, with a garage and outbuilding acting as a privacy "fence".
The owner, John Keeler, promptly replied to every text before and during our stay.
We cannot wait to return next year!

House and property were great! Perfect location and fantastic property right on the lake! Thank you so much!

This lake property was fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish we had signed up for longer. I felt like I was in beach glass heaven. The cabin must be insulated in such a way we heard no noise from room to room. It was perfect for us. My husband grew up in Lodi, so it was like a trip down memory lane.

great time , many memories made.

The east side of seneca lake was a great experience. The water and docks so relaxing. The house and provisions need work. Our overall vacation was a winner because we were able to be outside in the perfect weather and the people at the cafes wineries and antique shops provided us with exactly what we were hoping to experience.

We had a great time at this cottage with my daughter and 3 grandchildren. The sunsets were outstanding. The cottage is very private with long dock and wide beach area. My grandchildren enjoyed swimming. Several wineries are nearby. Only minor drawback is a very small kitchen. We would definitely return again.

The property is beautiful, but the house had a leaking roof, bugs, kitchen and bath need a cleaning and update.

We enjoyed our stay. Great location to wineries and waterfalls. The cabin was well stocked. One problem we had is the bathroom has a step that is hard to negotiate. Need a light. By large step. My husband and both had nasty falls at night. Also clearly says to bring towel but I forgot. He was nice enough to bring some extras to us.

Nice experience it was fun!

Lake access and sunsets, as promised. A lot of space for two people and sports gear. Grill and fire pit we used a few time and it was good. Kitchen is fairly small and it could use a deeper cleaning, as the oven. Overly very satisfied with the stay.

The lake house was amazing. The area was quiet and peaceful. The owner was so helpful. If you are looking to relax and enjoy the lake this is the rental for you. More than enough room for the 5 of us. We would definitely rent again.

This property served our needs well. The property is flat with swimming available which is great for all ages, make sure to bring water shoes. We were able to easily launch our kayaks from the shore. There is plenty of parking and outdoor seating. We used the grill everyday and had bonfires every evening. Close to wineries. The interior is very clean. Recommendations would include putting a window air conditioning unit in the lakeside bedroom and providing better equipment in the kitchen (pots and pans, mixing bowls, etc). Adding at least 1/2 bath would be helpful if there are maximum amount of guests staying. Other than that, it was a great stay!

The yard was one of the best we ever stayed at; very flat, shady, and No mosquitos at all. The cottage however was a little too small for 4 adults.
2.5
This cottage was located on the east side of the lake which meant picture perfect sunsets each night. Coffee on the dock every morning and a glass of wine around the fire pit at night. A nice yard and decent privacy (however the neighbor we became friendly with was wonderful and gave us excellent sight seeing tips!) . Great fishing spot. Nice pebble beach (wear water shoes!) All 3 beds were very comfortable with nice bedding. The kitchen was small, but well stocked, we used the grill outdoors mostly. The AC cooled the entire place, and fans were in each room if needed. We hated to leave, and cannot wait to return again!

What an unbelievably peaceful and beautiful place to stay. The cottage is comfortable, clean and well maintained. The view is gorgeous, and the sunsets are spectacular. There is a large creek that separates you from one set of neighbors (who are a retired couple that are very quiet) and the property on the other side is for sale, not currently occupied, and adjoins State land. In other words, it is like you have a private retreat. We cannot imagine wanting anything more for a vacation spot.
Regarding to the two negative reviews: our family has been staying at this property for many years, and has never encountered a problem. We have never been attacked by bugs, never smelled urine in the cottage, and always have found the property to be clean. Almost all of the windows are new and have screens (and all of them open), fans have consistently been provided, and have never noticed any odors. Anywhere. Our most recent stay was from late September until early October 2015, and there were no stains on any of the carpeting. At different occasions during our stay, four family members fell asleep while watching television and the sectional did not come apart. In all the years that we have stayed at the cottage, we have never found food in the yard or bugs in the cottage, and there have always been ample cleaning supplies. And this year, the owners generously provided campfire wood. If you are fortunate enough to find a cottage where you are allowed to bring your dogs (with food allergies), a reasonable person would watch over them to ensure that there was nothing that would make them sick. We can only wonder, were the complaints mentioned in the negative reviews initially made in the hope of receiving a discount, and when that proved unsuccessful, put on VRBO to be mean-spirited? From what our experiences have been staying at this property, it is the only conclusion we can draw.
It’s a great place, and the owners are very caring people. Do yourself a favor, and ignore the bad reviews from the summer of 2015-you won’t regret it!

We were nearly scared away because of a bad review.
Thank goodness that we stayed. This cottage has the best view on the lake.
The sunsets are incredible. The cottage is clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful and made this family vacation one of our best. The fishing was fantastic!! My 10 year old son finally caught the big one. We are looking forward to staying here again next year.

When we arrived at this property when entering the home the home was infested with flies also cobwebs in the corners and huge spiders when looking around we noticed that the windows did not have screens in them two windows in living room one of the windows in the bedroom the house had a very foul smell to it from being closed up with no air circulation we did end up finding two small screens that we were able to put into the two windows in the living room as far as the window in the one bedroom my daughter had gotten bitten on her back and she would not open the windows because she was afraid of spiders getting the bathroom toilet was very disgustingly dirty I had to bleach and scrub that very strong urine smell throughout the bathroom and the one bedroom off the front porch upon being there for a few days we were told that the previous tenants were a bunch of Amish kids that had been there on the Ramadan and had made a mess of the place I also have a small dog that has food allergies upon taking her outside I noticed her eating something it was shrimp shells all over the yard she ended up getting sick the cabinet in the kitchen when I open that I noticed something spilled all over the counter I don't know if it was sugar or if it was salt I just covered it up with a napkin, I shouldn't have to come in and clean before we could stay which I had to do we ended up having to go and buy fly strips and ant spray $60 on fans to get air through the house to deal with the smell the condition of the furniture in the living room were unacceptable the sectional was very uncomfortable had huge rips in the back of the couch cushions they didn't even zip anymore the couch would not stay together there was a pleather recliner in the living room which tilted to the side altogetherspace was very miserable about the only nice thing about the whole thing was the water and the view. The biggest thing for me was when I went into the bedroom with the twin bed the linens on the bed had a very foul smell to them immediately ripped it off that's when I noticed that the box spring was all ripped up the mattress was extremely thin and they put a piece of foam on top very uncomfortable the refrigerator leak water the first five nights we were there we barely had any hot water I'm going to leave it at that I had a very miserable poor stay. The brother showed up we addressed to him and he told us he was maintenance we would have to take it up with his brother.
