About this house rental
This exclusive home sits high on top of the hill. The all-glass window front has an unobstructed view over the mountain range, the valley and the Wind River.
Guests are welcome to fish the private stretch of river. We have brown trout, cutthroat, rainbows, cut-bows, brookies and whitefish.
Being located 12 miles west of the town of Dubois, allows for a head-start in getting to Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton or Jackson Hole. The back of the house opens directly to 2.5 million acres of forest, a playground for 4-wheeling, horseback riding or some world class snowmobiling in the winter.
Dubois is close enough to Jackson (69 miles) for a day visit or an evening in a classy restaurant, but far enough to be away from the crowds.
The drive to the national park entry is 45 minutes and leads over the Continental Divide. The scenic drive offers stunning views over the Teton range, and moose, elk, and grizzly can often be seen along the road.
This area is famous for hiking, fly-fishing, horseback riding or simply mountain sight-seeing. There are many pristine alpine lakes close by and an abundant wildlife to view and photograph.
Put a sun chair to the mountain backdrop, close your eyes, feel the presence of the fresh mountain air and relax, or go out there into the wilderness and play your heart out. Nature doesn’t come more violently breathtaking as in Yellowstone’s backyard.

We stayed at the Big Diamond Ranch for 4 nights in August. My husband was fishing in the area and my son and i flew out to meet him - so after a long day of traveling it was so nice to walk in to a house so inviiting!
The house is beautiful and everything is very well appointed with anything you would possibly need. It was super clean and comfortable!
The location is also handy to DuBoise which is just a few short miles away to local restaurants and grocery.
I would definately recommend this property! It also has beautiful views - we had muledear in the back yard twice!

I stayed here for almost two weeks as my daughter was at a camp nearby. The house and views are GORGEOUS, even better than the pictures. I did work remotely a good part of the time here (email, zoom meetings, etc) and the WiFi worked perfectly. There is very limited cell reception but I put my phone on WiFi calling and had zero issues. There are so many amazing hiking spots fairly nearby and all different types of terrain. I cooked a lot and the kitchen was great and well stocked with pots / pans / utensils, etc. Kathrin is wonderful and an amazing host, very responsive even for simple questions. Watching the sunrises from the porch was just spectacular.

I cannot even express how wonderful and amazing this place and Kathrin are. Even typing this review, I am sad that we aren't there right now. From the minute we considered booking this magical place, Kathrin was the most amazing host. She answered question upon question in a timely manner. The house was a luxury, with everything you could possibly need to be comfortable, cook and enjoy the beautiful scenery from every angle of the house. The house was spotless and beautifully designed. We came with fishing in mind, and the private stretch of the Wind River directly out front did not dissapoint. My experienced fly fishers really enjoyed it, and made friends with the sweet horses that liked to hang out with them on the river front. Kathrin also gave us some tips on some of her favorite spots that did not disappoint. The added perk was we had access to the National Forest behind the house, so when "some of us" were fished out, we had a blast exploring. We saw moose, elk, antelope, a fox and more cute ground squirrels than we could count. Dubois is a great town and not far at all. Food is great and the rodeo was fun. We frequented Cutthroat and Wind River Fly Outfitters. Both were excellent fly shops and showed the boys a great back country fishing day. Yellowstone and Tetons are close by and we took a day to do both, as well as fish other tributaries and sections of the Wind River. Kathrin, we WILL be back. Thank you for one of our most memorable vacations ever.

Our family enjoyed the stay at Kathrin's place. The pictures and descriptions are 100% accurate! The check in process was very easy, and Kathrin checked with us upon arrival to make sure everything aligned to our needs. She volunteered that we could contact her at any point for any questions. The home is very spacious, including a large kitchen and dining area - perfect for larger groups. The personal sauna was also a hit and much needed after a day of hiking. The views are outstanding...river runs right through the property, allowing my husband to fish each day. The property also backs up to National Forest, and we were able to hike to the ridges. :-)
The home is an easy 15 minute drive from Dubois where you will find a grocery market, a few restaurants, and other fun shops. Cowboy Cafe is small, but the food and service are perfect. Get there early on weekends for great breakfast! Perch Coffee served up much needed caffeine with a smile (and tons of choices for beverages!)! We also enjoyed the Lone Buffalo!
The house is about 75-90 minutes from Jackson; getting there takes you over the Continental Divide and provides amazing views.
Our teens slept in the loft; the steps to get to it are steep, and though it worked for us, it wouldn't be suitable for particularly younger or older friends.
Overall, I guarantee if we go back to the area, we would absolutely book this property again.

Fantastic property close to plenty of places to access the great outdoors during the winter. Convenient to Dubois where we could find everything we needed. The house is fully equipped, spacious, and has an outstanding view. The owner communicated everything very clearly.

This was an awesome vacation stay! The ranch is an amazing home. It is open and expansive with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, hills and valleys. The Wind River runs through the property and is very pretty. We were less than an hour from Grand Tetons Natl Park and a little over an hour to Yellowstone. Jackson Hole is about an hour away as well. Kathrin was very responsive to a question or two we had prior to arriving and pinged us during our stay to see if we needed anything. We spent sunrises and sunsets on the wrap-around deck enjoying the views. Fantastic place and we can't wait to go back!

This home is amazing in so many ways. The house is absolutely gorgeous with incredible views from every window. The furniture is comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We felt right at home!
The trails in the back of the home can’t be beat. We rented a UTV for a week, and had a blast exploring The Shoshone National Forest for hours. Of course, we also had fun feeding the horses.
Kathrin is a wonderful host who communicated with us quickly, and we enjoyed meeting her in person. We will definitely be back.

We were extremely pleased with our VRBO while visiting Grand Teton and Yellowstone. The home was amazing and had everything we needed. Kathrin was a top notch host and quick to answer any questions. The home was well-stocked and had plenty of kitchen space. The beds were comfortable and the home was clean. Really enjoyed having use of the garage too. We will be back - thank you Kathrin!!!

Kathrin is the ultimate host! SO friendly and helpful, and was very quick to resolve a minor issue. She checked on us throughout the stay. The home itself is beautiful, spotless, and exactly what we needed for our visit to the area. 10/10 would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay here. We visited Grand Teton which was about 45 minutes from the house, and Yellowstone which was about an hour and a half from the house. There are two bedrooms in the home (one with a king bed and the other with twin bunk beds) and a loft area with very narrow stairs that has two additional sleeping areas that I wouldn’t recommend for children or the elderly. The house does not have AC so it gets a little warm until you open the windows in the evening. Some of the windows need repairs. Overall it was a nice home to stay at while we visited the parks. It’s a beautiful area.

The location is jaw dropping out every window. The house is grand and luxurious. There are touches of class all over that let you know you’re at the right place. Everything you need is right there. The nearby town of Dubois is a must see. Great art, stores, & restaurants. Kathrin does an amazing job of making sure you have everything you need. This is my new favorite!

We loved being with friends in a serene environment in such a wonderful house!
The area is quiet, with relatively dark skies, and beautiful! The weather was cool and hiking was pleasant in the area the whole two weeks…
We tried to befriend Bill, the horse, but he was wary. Li’l Bear, the paint (horse), was friendly. It was nice to see them on the property and we enjoyed their company.
Kathrin was super accommodating! She found me a guitar to borrow and made sure we had anything we needed.

This cabin has everything you need from views in the morning to camp fires at night. We watched late movies with awesome surround sound. The owner is very on top to check on you to make sure your stay is as best as can be.
The only con would be if it could have better blinds and better outside lights that are brighter since it’s so high near forest. But out of everything definitely booking again!

The owner was very helpful with reservation and check in process. Home was as advertised! Access to trail system was right behind the home. Heated garage was nice to keep our sleds in.

Me and my family were looking for a place that was plenty big enough for us all, there were 8 of us and this home was perfect! It is secluded but yet only a few minutes to the town of Dubois. It also backs up to BLM and has great hiking and UTV trails accessable right from the property. Kathrin was an awesome host and we will be visiting again!

The home was very spacious and the Suna and hot tube and added bonus. I liked the way the porch wrapped around the back of the home overlooking the Wind River. Our host was most gracious and gave us lots of ideas on how to spend our time in the Dubois area. We came to relax and get away. Mission accomplished!

Great Family Trip
We had a great stay at Big Diamond Ranch in Dubois. The house is exactly as shown in photos and well stocked for all your needs. Our only issue was that the oven was broken during our entire stay which greatly impacted what we had planned on cooking for the week. Lovely home with large open living room and kitchen. Beautiful views from the front and back of the house. I wouldn't recommend the loft area for smaller children due to the steep steps, but my 12 and 17 year old loved it. We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows and making smores in the fire pit. We hiked the trails right out the back door up the mountain and saw deer and elk each time. We went into town for ATV riding and the Friday night rodeo - both were great fun. We also did a 2 hr. horseback ride close to the ranch with Said Creek Outfitters that I highly recommend. We stopped in Jackson Hole for groceries, but we didn't need to. The Super Foods in Dubois had all you need and even better selection on some items. I would highly recommend Big Diamond Ranch and visiting the town of Dubois. Short drive to Teton Park, Yellowstone or Jackson.

Gorgeous Property
Our stay at this home has been awesome despite the rain we were getting. Location was great as we were able to get out to the national park, and even visit Jackson. House is large and unique, and sooo well stocked. Oh and the sunrises were amaaaazing. We also saw deer on the property one morning. Our dogs loved all the smells and sounds. We hope to come back one day, hopefully with better weather so we can get the pups out to the nearby national forests. Thank you so much for having us!

All Around Wonderful
The location, the view, the home, the cleanliness, the host Kathrin…….where to start? This is a well appointed and very clean home. The decks are inviting with super views of the Wind River Valley. Our family enjoyed being able to walk down to the Wind to fish as well as take off on the ORV trails behind the house. Katrin is a most attentive and accommodating host. We spent a month here enjoying every day of rest or adventure. And we plan to go back next August!

This place far exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for an absolutely beautiful house/cabin that has everything you need and located in breathtaking surroundings that you can see from the wrap around porch and many large beautiful windows, this is it. There was something for everyone to do! Right out the back door was the beautiful Wind River to fish. There was hiking, ATV rentals and horseback riding nearby. The drive to Yellowstone and the Tetons was around 45 minutes and was very beautiful. You are only minutes away from Dubois and what a charming town it is. They even have a rodeo on Friday nights!Kathrin, the host, was amazing. She kept in contact our entire stay checking to make sure we had everything we needed. We feel we have made a new friend and will definitely be back to stay.

Amazing Property!!
This was the perfect home for our family on our recent visit to The Grand Tetons! Kathrin went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and our son was thrilled to be able to spend some time with her horses. The house was exactly as described and even better in person. We also enjoyed some spectacular sunsets (and sunrises too). Our favorite VRBO so far and we have stayed in quite a few of them. Definitely recommend this property and would love to stay again some day. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.
