It was the perfect location for a family to stay attending an event! Easy access to Downtown Knoxville as well as Airport, and other local venues. Loved the horses greeting us every morning -quiet, rural area. The host was so quick to respond to all requests so thank you.

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights in July 2024. The listing almost downplayed how great the place is. We were traveling to visit family but needed our own space to unwind- as one does with little kids- and this was perfect. The exterior is adorable and surrounding area is beautiful. The home was perfect. The main floor was open, the master bedroom is very large- really us and the kids could have stayed comfortably in that room alone! The kitchen is stocked with everything we could need to handle the basics- and even make a batch of cookies! The beds were very comfortable and hot water came quickly in the showers which was quite welcome after a long day on the lake! This place is very kid friendly. The sunroom has games and art supplies and a beautiful view of the barn and animals next door. The best kept secret is the toy nook upstairs. My two kids (18mo and 5y) spent a ton of time up there- and barely even fought over toys! The stairs were easy for both my 18mo and my mother in law. Additionally, sound did not travel in the house. We went out one of the nights after the kids and my mother in law went to sleep and they didn’t hear us come back. Overall my entire family cannot wait to come visit the Teacup Cottage again! It really made our trip perfect.

i had no idea that we were getting such a package within this stay. it was outstanding! the drive back is tree lined and when we reached the property it was sat back, with a beautiful new horse barn. a circle drive and a stunning historic house. there bamboo lining the property, goats, roosters. none of the animals were around unless you called for them and wanted them to be, so they were never a bother. but we definitely wanted them around. my kids were in awful of the horses. the owners left us treats too. the house had big open windows so you could see them and the property from all around. they always answered any questions i had right away. i had asked about early check in and if they were okay with us getting carrots and apples for the horses. i side the home was grand, open, eclectic, charming and had everything we needed. my family decided since we only live 6 hours away that we want to try to make a point to retreat here every few months.
-it’s also only a 10-15 min drive from most things in knoxville, so i just didn’t expect to be so “in town” and have such tranquility. 10/10

Home was awesome. Easy to find. Does have an old house smell and creaky floors but you get used to it really fast. My sisters really enjoyed the horses. And we all loved the decor of the home. And the kitchen had everything you would need to prepare a large meal. Although we were out and about so much we didn’t really have much time for dinners there. We all absolutely loved the home.

We were visiting our son who lives in Knoxville. The location of this house was great…away from Knoxville but not too far and near the airport. The owner was very responsive. The layout of the house was perfect for the combination of our group. We absolutely loved the horses and seeing turkeys in the morning. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. We will definitely try to stay here again.

We had our two kids with us and their grandparents and the home slept us all comfortably. Kids loved all the animals as well!

We had a wonderful stay at the yellow tea cup cottage. The horses surrounding the property were a huge hit for our kids, lots of space for our dog to run, and the sounds of chickens next door was perfect. The house is well appointed/decorated and provides everything you need - bathroom products, plenty of cleaning supplies, and fully stocked kitchen. Only downside was it’s not close to any conveniences (grocery store, etc) and it’s on the flight path. But for us, it was totally worth it!

Lovely, peaceful setting in a charming old house convenient to Knoxville and Maryville. Good choice for family with 2 BR's and bath upstairs, if needed. Well-stocked, modern kitchen and nice outdoor patios, grill, and firepit.
Overall very nice but these suggested improvements would make it a 5-star property:
A welcome call or check from owner would have been nice. When we called asking, "Where is the hot tub/whirlpool spa as advertised?" host said there was neither, then promptly corrected the property description online--but offered not even token consideration for missing a key amenity that caused us to choose this property over all others. (Dealing with VRBO directly was a vacation-waster. It took 2+-hours on the phone for company's agent in Cairo, Egypt to finally extend a very small credit.)
Also, property could use a little more attention to detail:
* no laundry detergent
* no instructions for TV use of various remotes, most of which needed batteries which were provided after we called.
* Nicer toiletries, i.e. bath soap, shampoo, and a hair dryer that blows more than a whisper would be appreciated by all guests.
Property was well-cleaned and Ukrainian housekeeper was a delight to meet.

This is a great place, will probably stay here again in the future. Fun watching and feeding the horses, saw deer, foxes and plenty of birds. Lots of room in the house and big yard for the dog. Close enough to Knoxville to do plenty of restaurants.

We loved this house! Super cozy, comfortable, and sunshiney.
Being just outside of Knoxville, but close by, was ideal for our visit.
The owners were super quick to respond to a couple of minor issues - and very pleasant to interact with.
We would definitely stay at the cottage again!

We stayed at the Yellow Teacup house for a week. The location was beautiful, the kids loved feeding the horses and goats. We had easy access to Pigeon Forge, Knoxville and the Smoky mountains.
The property is large with a county charm and with all of the amenities you would require. The beds were really comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing on the rocking chairs on the front porch as the sun set.
Christie, the host, was absolutely amazing and responded immediately to any questions we had. She also offered lots of information on the local area.
We will definitely book again next time we visit!
Thank you for truly wonderful stay.

My daughter, mom and I stayed at The Yellow Teacup Cottage when we came to town for a college tour and a concert. The location was great and very convenient to Knoxville, without the hustle and bustle of city life. It was quiet, peaceful and the house was so cute! I can’t say enough about this place. This will definitely be our go to stay when we go to Knoxville!

We stayed at the yellow cottage for our microwedding and honeymoon. It was an absolute DREAM! The house was even more beautiful than i expected (and I loved it as soon as we seen the listing). It was well-equipped with everything we needed and more. Christie was amazing with communication and was so kind and helpful when I accidentally left something after we left. We would definitely stay here again!

What an amazing seven day stay! We loved hanging out and watching the horses, squirrels and birds. Our 14 year old was in heaven giving the horses and goats their treats. Sitting on the porch in the evening, sipping on a glass of wine after a busy day of site seeing, was the perfect. We loved being in the country. Host is fabulous!!

We had such a nice, peaceful time. Rented a pontoon boat and went hiking with the 2 dogs.
We fed the horses, and they were the highlight of our stay.
Plenty of room to exercise the dogs.
Also saw a ground hog!

The cottage was spacious and perfect for our graduation celebration. In addition to the 6 of us who spent three nights we were easily able to include our daughter and her friends for dinner and socializing. The multiple rooms provided options to get away from our festivities when needed. Highly recommended

My wife and I took a stint of our honeymoon here, and it was beautifully peaceful inside and out. Would definitely return with a family in the future!
