Loved the nice walk to the beach. Great restaurant right next door! ❤️🥰
We did hear the base sounds of the movie theater but it didn’t bother us. We had a great time!

We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment on Lighthouse. We were in Pacific Grove for a friend's birthday weekend and the location of the apartment was perfect because we could walk everywhere. The unit was very clean and had plenty of room for the three of us. The movie theater next door was no issue for us but traffic early in the morning on the main street woke us up early. It would be good if room darkening shades or curtains were provided. I definitely recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed the house and the host was great. She had everything setup there were no hassles or concerns. Overall I would highly recommend staying at this house. It’s located in the heart of PG and minutes from the water. We are looking forward to returning.

Excellent stay
Very good apartment, stylish, with great design, very spacious and comfortable! Central location, close to everything one can dream of, with ocean view. Home-like stay, cosy, and warm. Adjacent cinema didn't disturb us. We will love to come again! Thank you, Sally!

The apartment couldn't be in a better location in Pacific Grove in that it's steps away from restaurants and shopping. However, the theater noise was ridiculous. We heard every gun shot and car crash during an action movie (which ran several times a day) and it sounded like a teenager had his TV cranked in an adjacent bedroom. This typically went from the afternoon until about 10pm. Adding to that, all rooms are right on the busiest street so we heard garbage trucks and other vehicles early in the morning. There are streetlights right outside the bedroom windows which lit up the bedrooms at night so the combination of light and lots of vehicle and theater noise made it impossible to sleep. I'll skip over the little things like crappy old towels the fact that previous guests left food in the fridge and a couple light bulbs were burned out. So, a very mixed review here in that it was a cute place but I wouldn't recommend it if you want to sleep. To the owner - please add blackout drapes to the bedrooms and buy a set of Costco towels.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The location was perfect with beach being only a 5 min walk. House was a little musty on arrival but after opening windows it was fine. Towels were a little old and funky but other than that we loved it.

My girlfriend and I visited the apartment this past weekend for our 1-year anniversary and had a lovely time. If I could give this apartment 3.5 stars then I would, but here are my thoughts on the apartment:
POSITIVES:
1. Location, Location, Location! - smack dab on the main road in Downtown Pacific Grove. You can walk to cafes and restaurants, walk to the ocean, and uber just about everywhere else in the Monterey area, including the Aquarium and Cannery Row. Very convenient. Parking was fairly easy as well.
2. Price - The Monterey area in general is SUPER expensive. This apartment, for what it is, is overpriced. However, when you compare it to other 2-bedrooms in the area (and I did a TON of research on this before booking), and with it's proximity to the ocean, it's in the top 15% of most inexpensive 2-bedrooms in the area. So I can't fault the owners for pricing according to the market they're in.
NEGATIVES:
1. Not Fresh? - When you book a rental, there is an expectation of a "crispness/freshness" that you desire so you don't think about all of the people before you who have rented the place. You want a clean smell and everything to FEEL clean. It was not the case with this apartment. My girlfriend and I continuously had stuffy noses and allergy issues within the apartment. As soon as we stepped outside and breathed in the ocean air, the stuffiness went away, so it was definitely something in the home. Previous pets maybe? It just didn't have that crispness to it. The instructions for checking-out require that you take out the trash and load & run the dishwasher which also led me to believe that this apartment is rarely if ever professionally cleaned.
2. Needs Updating/More TLC - There were many small details lacking that with a little more TLC could have easily boosted this to a 4-star review. There were no garbage bags in the apartment. The towels were very old, mismatched, and falling apart. The handsoap was empty and we had to refill it ourselves. There was hair on the bathroom floor. The sheets of the bed were so old that they were pilling. Leftover ice cream in the freezer. No Keurig coffee machine (but there was an old coffee-pot machine).
So all-in-all we would say it was a positive stay but we will probably stay elsewhere next time. NOTE: Also it is attached to the movie theater and you can hear the sounds coming into the home. It didn't bother us, but if you're sensitive to sound it's something to consider.

Great location. Very nice apartment. Shares walls with movie theatre and dolby digital sound.
We loved our stay in Pacific Grove. Beautiful area and very nice accommodations. Nice layout though kitchen IS upstairs. Unit shares walls with movie theatre and we got a kick out of "hulk &thor" as part of our stay. They didn't stay late and were afternoon arrivals, so it wasn't a negative for us. Bus stop outside windows with hourly departures, fyi.
Unit is in a great neighborhood with shops, restaurants and beautiful beach area.
Property manager and staff were very responsive and easy to work with. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great location!
We found this very conveniently located allowing our family to explore fantastic Monterey. Close to good eats and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

centrally located, spacious, comfortable.
The apartment was easy to find, had ample off-street parking a wonderful view of the water, downtown and the butterfly parade. There was plenty of room to relax in and the furnishings were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place to stay especially when visiting the Monterey Aquarium
This B&B is located within walking distance of the Aquarium (20 minutes), lots of second hand shopping stores, restaurants and a walk way along Monterey Bay.
We would stay here again.

Would stay there again happily.

Charming with character and a great location
Something different. This in not your standard chocolate box apartment, but a delightfully renovated apartment on handy bus routes in the heart of Pacific Grove with its zillions of restaurants within walking distance.
And if you want to take in a movie, walk next door in your slippers.
My wife and I have spent 6 weeks here while waiting to move into a permanent apartment in Salinas, after moving here from overseas.
As regards the noise from the movie theater next door - think of it is as a slightly noisy neighbor that is only there between 11am and 10.30pm. You only hear it during loud scenes, but not when you are wanting to sleep, and not enough to disrupt your activities, and you very quickly become immune to it.
If it available when you want to be in Monterey, just book it before someone else does.

An amazing New Year 2017
Couldn't have been better. Everything about the house was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with an excellent location of everything. Room was very comfortable and clean. My family of four, especially my wife, were very pleased with our stay.
We hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

Great stay by the Bay!
Our family of four spent three nights at this apartment in Pacific Grove after Christmas 2016. We had a wonderful time. It was actually the second time I've stayed there and I enjoyed it very much. We loved how close it was to excellent food and entertainment. Aliotti's Victorian Square next door has excellent food (breakfast, lunch and dinner!) and wonderful service. The apartment itself is very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed relaxing and watching TV and making our meals at times in the nice kitchen. As long as you don't mind loud noises coming from the movie theater next door, your stay should be very pleasant. It just so happened that Star Wars was playing during our time there, so every two hours during the climactic scenes, you could feel the booming bass and explosive sound effects pretty clearly. It didn't bother us, though. I did have to call Sally once about the circuit breaker. Running the fireplace heater in the master bedroom and the microwave at the same time causes the circuit to blow. It happened to us three times in three days. Again, a minor complaint but one that should guests should be aware of. But there is plenty of space to relax and read and it's very quiet all day long to take a nap or get a good night's sleep. We are already planning our next trip to Pacific Grove! Thank you for the wonderful accommodations!

It was a wonderful experience. The apartment is right in downtown Pacific Grove. Close to everything
We were there for a month, September 16 to October 15. The apartment is right in downtown Pacific Grove. Next-door to several restaurants, close to a grocery store, a short bike ride to Monterey, a beautiful bike ride to Pebble Beach. It is in the same building as the theater, this might be offputting to some, however we didn't mind. It was nice to walk 15 steps and go to a movie. We had a wonderful month Pacific Grove.
4.5
This property was clean and right on the busiest street in town. We could walk everywhere.
It was not well stocked. There were no wash cloths or soap in the bathrooms. We had to search for towels. The bedrooms did not have closets. It would not work well for an extended stay. The bedding needed to be updated and they need new pillows.
Pacific Grove's movie theater shared a wall to the apartment and consequently was noisy.
I would not recommend this for older visitors as the living space is on the second floor.
We stayed two nights which was long enough.
4.5
After a mounth of holiday I can say that all was perfect. It's a pity the noise of the teather but It's tolerable. The owner is very kind and ready for any need... thanks again Sally.
PS: I suggest an account on skype or whatsapp

Lighthouse apt served as a great home base in Pacific Grove!!! We'd stay there again and recommend it to friends. Right on the main street (Lifhthouse) easy to walk anywhere down to the bay, to the aquarium, Grove market grocery store 2 blocks away--they even let me borrow a shopping cart to take my groceries back, good meal at Passionfish and Thai restaurant. Very well appointed. Decor neither too frilly or too stark. Sally the owner is an interior designer and it shows. Comfortable beds. Very well equipped and easy to use kitchen we cooked most of our meals there. We went to the fish market down on the wharf and got excellent, fresh off the boat, local halibut. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the movie theater noise. Terminator 2 was booming but it stopped by 10 or 11. I was trying to study during the day and it was a bit intrusive. This next reason for lack of 5 stars is probably moot: we were there during a rare hot spell and the bedrooms didn't air out well a fan would have been nice. The living area aired out quite well tho. We are both 59 and did fine. There is a set of stairs however so I didn't check the rec'd for over 55.
4.5
The Lighthouse is perfect for a couple or a family. The kids get the downstairs and the parents get the upstairs.
Even though there is just one bathroom, the shower is big and the sink is outside the bath area so two can be getting ready to go out at the same time.
Close to everything. You can even walk to Cannery Row.
It is easy to take in a movie next door. The sound from the theater does not start until noon and it ends by 10pm, so to me , it was not an issue.
We have stayed here before and would stay again. It is great!!!
4.5
This place is awesome! Convenient to everything, beach is 2 blocks away. Has been a great place for our family to stay. Even the Cinema noise is entertaining and over by 10 pm. Would gladly stay again if we are ever in the area!
4.5
Located in the middle of a community that isn't really looking for tourists. Which helps you get a real sense of the place. Great shopping and Restaurants all around, 2 -3 blocks from the ocean which you can see from the upstairs window.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the historic, downtown area of Pacific Grove. We loved the apartment's spaciousness, décor and close proximity to attractions. The apartment is also ideally located for exploring the shops, trying out the restaurants or taking an easy walk to the aquarium and the beach. Importantly, the apartment has dedicated parking, so we never worried about finding a parking space after a long day of sightseeing. I would definitely recommended this apartment to my family and friends and look forward to my next stay.

We had a fantastic mini-vacation at this wonderful home. You can walk to lovers point beach or take a short drive to Asilomar state beach. The walking/bike path to the Monterey Bay Aquariumn was very close and it's so picturesque to walk along it. In addition, the cafés and restaurants near this home are abundant and very good. The grove market was great to pick up grocery items. The location was wonderful. We had such a fun time and it went by too quickly. I'm thankful that we live only 90 minutes away so that we can easily come back. Sally, the owner, was extremely easy to work with, no issues at all. If I had a question, she responded very quickly. Please consider staying at this great location.
There is some noise from the adjacent theater but it stops at around 10 pm. To me, it was not an issue. If anything, it made me want to see a movie!
Great place, great stay- if you stay here you will not be disappointed!

"My sister and I enjoyed a memorable weekend in Pacific Grove. The apartment is ideally located for exploring the town and is within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach. The owner Sally has decorated and furnished it beautifully! We enjoyed working in the spacious kitchen and relaxing with a glass of wine in the living room. Sally was very responsive to our emails and made it easy for us to access the apartment. This apartment is definitely a unique and special place to stay in the heart of Pacific Grove."
