About this apartment rental
This first floor, nice and warm 450 ft2 studio is conveniently located in the heart of Ballard. Just 0.5 mile from is quaint downtown. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. And, one of the most coveted by the locals because its many attractions and conveniences. Ease of access to transportation and within a 5-10 min drive to downtown Seattle.
Many of our guests leave their car parked at home to avoid the hustle of finding parking or having to pay for it, they simply walk down on 24th Ave to Market St. Just 5 short blocks away are two of our favorite bakeries, Café Besalu and next door, Tall Grass Bakery. They make artisan breads and pastries, the best in town. There are other small businesses on 24th like Olaf’s a nice pub literally around the corner. A hamburger joint Scooter’s and a nice big grocery store (QFC) with free underground parking for getting your groceries. Our guests have also told us they enjoyed and appreciated very much the convenience of grabbing bus #40 at the street corner and riding to downtown Seattle.
The studio is in the first floor of our property (not a basement) it has easy access with only three steps from street level. Here you will find all the standard amenities that you would normally find in a hotel wireless internet, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, computer desk, coffee maker, toaster and microwave.
Other amenities include:
- Private, independent entrance with a keyless electronic door lock.
- Well-lit entrance with sensor lights for late arrivals.
- The unit comes with its own off-street parking (first one to the left, the closest to the entrance corridor). There is free street parking on our block also.
- King bed with high quality mattress, Simmons Beautyrest.
- Dania Sofa bed, with a real foam mattress queen size.
- 400 mbp high speed, private network internet cable with fast, latest technology Wi-Fi router.
- 40' internet connected smart apps TV with Netflix included.
- Full size refrigerator, gas cook-top, microwave, coffeemaker and toaster.
- Kitchen stocked with pots and pans and set of silverware for four + BPA free sets for kids.
- Bathroom with toilet, sink and shower.
- Free use of our home gym included.
- Free use of our bikes to go explore the area.
- For families with babies, we have a clean Graco Pack 'n Play Playard with Reversible Napper and Changer that can be used for infants and toddlers (we just ask you to please let us know you need it, so we can ensure is ready for you)
- Access to private backyard with table and chairs (just behind French doors in picture).
The Neighborhood.
Ballard was a city of its own in the past founded when cars didn't exist. It was later absorbed by its bigger sister city Seattle. For this reason, it can still feel like a small town retaining its downtown, working waterfront and old businesses open to date. Many warehouses and storefronts though, have been converted to tasty new restaurants, like our favorite Mexican, La Carta de Oxaca on Ballard ave.
Public Transportation.
Seattle is a city with a solid public transportation when it comes to buses.
We are located less than half a block from the bus stop. You can take routes #18 and #40 at our block corner of 24th and 64th; both will take you to downtown Seattle. Route #40 also goes to the Northgate Mall in its northbound route. Route #44 on Market Street will take you to UW.
If you have a smart phone you can use Google maps and chose the public transportation option when planning your route. You may also find very useful the OneBusAway App with real time transit information, timetables and route planing. This App was first develop here at home at the UW and it is now in use all over the US and abroad.

This is my 4th or 5th stay at the Ballard Studio. As always, it’s very clean and very convenient to my son’s house. Now in late Spring, the backyard is beautiful and inviting.
But I will continue to stay here because Monica and Mario go above and beyond as hosts. This time I really wanted to watch an award show on TV. I couldn’t get it to work so first Monica and then Mario came over on a SUNDAY afternoon to set it up so I could watch the show. And it was Fathers’ Day! They took care of their guest anyway. Thank you again for making everything perfect!

Great location in Ballard and easy walk to Ballard downtown. Great restaurants, bars & grocery store right around the corner. Clean studio with cute little backyard to enjoy some sun. Basic kitchen equipment but didn’t use it much with all the wonderful food choices around. Studio came with all the necessities you’ll need. We loved that we had a guaranteed parking space in the driveway, which is a hard perk to find. The owner Mario was very responsive & helpful.

Very nice studio apartment, in a great location in Ballard. Easy walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. Designated parking space which is terrific since street parking can be quite difficult. The studio is well equipped, with a comfortable king bed, sitting area, dining table, a small but very usable kitchen, and a sunny private back yard.

This is my 2nd stay here and as before, it was perfect. It’s a great location- walking to the main shops of Ballard and the locks is easy to do. It’s also quiet so a good night’s sleep got me ready for the next day’s activities. Thanks Monica and Mario!

I had a great stay here. The property is very close to restaurants, coffee shops, and fun stores to shop, yet it is tucked in a quiet street. So, lots to do nearby during the day, a good night’s sleep to end the day.
Mario and Monica were great hosts. They respond quickly if you have a question and I love that they provided bikes. I didn’t use the bikes this time, but I will next time bc I definitely will be booking here again when I visit my mom and brother.

We were very happy with the property- the bed was most comfortable and the owners had thoughtfully included toiletry items and kitchen items one might forget. It was only several miles away from the family we were visiting and having a parking space was a must in that popular part of Ballard.

This is a great property and the owners have added so many thoughtful details to make a weary traveler’s stay cozy and relaxed. The backyard patio area and landscaping add a special sense of beauty and serenity within an urban setting. I’ll be back.

This is a great location in Old Ballard. The efficiency is clean, and most importantly it is quiet. It's an easy walk to public transportation - Get the Seattle Transit Go Ticket app, and riding the bus is simple. You can be in downtown Seattle in thirty minutes or so.
If you decide not to head into Seattle, it's a half mile walk down hill to many great restaurants with some unexpected hidden gems. There is a great bakery, Korean, and Sir Lankan just to name a few. For older folks such as myself having a transit day pass makes getting back to the vrbo much easier. It's just a few short stops back up the hill.
If I was traveling back to Seattle this is the place I would stay. The hosts are great to work with, and with public transportation just two short blocks away you will be glad you stayed.

We had such a wonderful time. This home is perfectly located to easily go to the Zoo, Green Lake, Swansons Plant Store, Gorgeous George’s, the Barking Dog. Great food, great Beer, great coffee. I love Seattle and Mario’s home is so comfortable to return to after our adventures. This home has everything we need, and that is why we keep coming back. Thank you Mario for sharing your lovely home.

From start to finish Mario and Monica thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. So many amenities, from a full range of bathroom supplies, to a well-stocked kitchen, to comfortable beds. We had full access to a lovely garden area just outside our apartment door, which made the property feel even more comfortable. There were 3 of us in the apartment: my husband, our 19-yr-old daughter, and myself, and due to the way the apartment is laid out (and the lovely garden) we never felt cramped. We weren't there much of course! So much to see just a short mile from the apartment in Ballard. The bar around the corner, Olaf's, was a gem as well. The property is well-maintained, and the owners were super responsive. Safe neighborhood, with off street parking. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. 5/5 stars!

What a wonderful place to stay while in town to attend our daughter’s wedding! We were only 5 blocks away from her apartment, so it was easy for us to help her do things before and after the event. This place was so clean and had everything we could imagine to make our stay worry free! We even got to meet Monica (owner), who made us feel so welcome! The location was perfect having many shops and restaurants within walking distance! I highly recommend these accommodations if you need to stay in Ballard!

We really enjoyed this lovely place. It was clean and well stocked with what we needed to be comfortable and eat some meals there, but the location was the best part! We walked to many area restaurants and sites! Also, fyi to anyone considering renting during fall 2022, the construction was only during the day and we found it reasonable, especially with the discount price for that period of time. We will stay here again on future trips!

We stayed at Mario and Monica’s place while competing in a sailing championship. It was perfect for us - comfy bed, quiet for sleeping, good coffee shops nearby, close to the 40 bus, and we made good use of the bikes and laundry. Mario and Monica were excellent hosts 👍

Communication was excellent throughout the process. Even if there were questions, they had things clearly marked and explained. A wonderful and comfortable place to visit and not far from transportation if you don’t have a car…

We had a fantastic stay in this very well located home apartment. As mentioned in the listing, the location is within walking distance to old Ballard. We walked down multiple times for meals, to wander through the shops and a nice stroll over to watch the boats go through the Ballard locks.
Mario was a great host helping with the booking, checking in as well as a follow up to make sure all was well.
We will stay here the next time we are in Ballard.

Nice apartment in Ballard
We had a nice stay at this property. It had everything you need - large bed, kitchenette, living room, and desk. It was comfortable and nicely furnished. Location was ideal as it was only a few blocks from our daughter's place. Also convenient walking distance to Cafe Besala, Vintage Coffee, and other eating places. The coffee maker and tea were an added plus. We did not use the laundry or bicycles because we had access, but otherwise would have been great additional benefits.
