John is a highly communicative host. The location was the best part of the home, where we were able to walk the entirety of Marblehead! The property is spacious, though the bedrooms themselves were a little snug. The attic space was a great bonus area for our kids to play.

The house had lots of rooms, which was perfect for our family. The location was also amazing. Close to a beach and really nice area. The only issue we had was with the cleanliness. It could use additional cleaning especially all the touch surfaces. The walls around the kitchen staircase were very dirty. kitchen cabinets were absolutely filthy as well as inside the bottom cabinets, especially on the lazy susan. With a deep cleaning this property would be very nice. Property owner/manager said we could let him know if any issues but it is hard to correct cleanliness once your group has arrived, but it felt a little discouraging to not feel property was properly cleaned.

Great size for multi families. Great location to walk to and enjoy the Festival of Arts, beaches, concerts at Crocker Park, restaurants, shops, Red’s Pond and to explore Marblehead’s rich history.

Listing is a little deceiving. Expected the property to be a little more updated. Musty smell when you walk in. Supplies not fully stocked, no ice. No one was happy that we had to wash bedding and towels used. You pay a cleaning fee that should not be our responsibility. We would definitely come back to Marblehead, but will not rent that property again.

This was the perfect house for our trip of 8 adult friends. The house is old and charming but all of the appliances and bathrooms are updated and the beds are unbelievably comfortable. The location was just 20 mins from Salem, a few mins from Stop and Shop and a bunch of other large chain stores, and just three mins from a Dunkin Donuts and liquor store. The neighborhood is pretty and quiet and the pond nearby has a ton of ducks. The owner was very reachable and communicative. Would definitely stay here again. The front door was a little difficult to open given the fact that it was so hot and the wood probably expanded but the side door was easily accessible and opened easily. And we had no problem parking three cars right in front of the house/in the driveway.

We had a very good stay at this property. The house is very large and spacious, great for our 4 teens to spread out in. The kitchen is well stocked and the tv room has multiple couches and chairs to gather and watch movies. It was great that 3 of the bedrooms have tvs in as well, as after walking around all day it's nice to watch tv in bed. It was so lovely to walk around the town. You are 2-3 mins from the ocean, and lots of restaurants and great shops. Getting to places like Salem, or Boston are also easy and not to far way. The one thing I will say is that the couches and chairs in the tv room are very worn out. My suggestion would be to get some covers to update the look, as they are still comfortable. John was very easy to communicate with and very helpful with recommendations.

We were in town with extended family and this place had plenty of room for us all to spread out. The location was amazing and within a short walk of all the stores, beaches and local attractions. The host was very responsive when we had a few quick questions on where to find things. Also loved all the extras like large beach towns, a number of beach chairs etc as it made us feel like we had some of the conveniences of home. Would choose again next time we are in town!

Charming old home with large family room that accommodated all guests. Unfortunately, a couple of the kitchen appliances did not function properly, making it impossible to cook at the house.

Plenty of living space, and well stocked with equipment and comforts. Bedrooms are fairly small but comfortable.
Walking distance to shops restaurants and bars. Marblehead is quiet, very beautiful. In particular we liked Maddie’s Sail lift for food and refreshments.
John was very helpful and responded quickly.
Ideal house for a large groups

We had a great time celebrating my mom’s 60th girls trip in Marblehead and Salem. This house was perfect for our big group and we loved all the rooms and charming house.

The house just has the charm of Marblehead….all you would want. So great to have our large group all in one place and not even share a bed. At first, when I booked the girls vacay a year in advance...I was little sad I was in another town instead of Salem as that was the main focus of our trip...BUT, Marblehead ended up being just a little wink from above. We all would've missed this great town had we stayed in Salem. We all want to come back and stay in Marblehead again....and we will absolutely stay here again.
John was super easy to get a hold of.
Only suggestion would be:
to write up little history of the house...we were just curious of it's age etc.

Close walking distance to everything. Crosby’s marketplace perfect for groceries. Tons of towels. Would stay again.

I would've given 5 stars if not for a few things. First, there were no directions on how to use the stove. We didn't figure it out until our last day there. Directions should be somewhere on how to use it. Second, I got a sliver under my fingernail from the decking. It's very old and needs replacing. Lastly, we would have spent a lot more time in the attic if it wasn't so hot. I would recommend putting an air conditioner up there. We stayed at the end of August and it was extremely hot. Other than that, we had a great stay at this historic house! Thanks for having us!

Dad’s Birthday
4 families came together to celebrate Dads birthday (all family). This home was perfect for us to have space each having our own rooms and beds. We cooked, grilled, ate on the deck, took evening walks around the pond, the kids tumbled in the little fenced in yard, walked the historic streets to dinner on the water. Everything about the experience and house was perfect. A true New England weekend in a historic home.. big and spacious, unpretentious. The kitchen stocked with plenty of dishes, beds and rooms with A/C and fans or loads of blankets. Thank you for such a memorable weekend!!

We had a great time. We had everything we needed for a great stay. You cannot beat the location of this home. Marblehead is such a great town and this home puts you right in the middle of it all. John’s restaurant recommendations were spot on and his suggestions for what to visit while in Marblehead were perfect for our family.

Historic home with lots of space in a great neighborhood
We were a party of 6 (3 adults, 3 kids in their mid-late teens) and really appreciated historic charm and the spaciousness of the house - there was plenty of room for everyone to bed down, and there was lots of space to just chill out and relax. The location is fantastic - having spent many hours of my youth in Marblehead, it was great to be able to walk to most of my old haunts - including Redd's Pond, Fort Sewall, the wharf area, Abbott Hall, downtown cafes, etc. Having off-street parking was great, as parking is at a premium especially in this area of Marblehead.
John was an excellent host - very responsive and accommodating. Since the house had pretty much everything we needed, we didn't need to impose on him for anything - but we appreciated the proactive communications from him to make sure we were comfortable!
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would rent from John again in a heartbeat.

Historic spacious home in charming neighborhood
Spacious home with historic character that easily accommodated our 2 families. Walk through charming neighborhood to access multiple beach points and quick drive to great restaurants and shops. Every part of the process went smoothly and the owners were lovely to chat with.

Stayed with a large group for a week. The space was beautiful and accommodated our large group nicely! Great location for someone looking to stay outside of the craziness of the city.

Wonderful Home and the owner was wonderful to work with!
This home is beautiful and in a gorgeous location. There were 8 of us so everyone had their own bed. There was a table plenty big for us to eat together and the kitchen was large enough to cook in comfortably. We loved our girls getaway weekend. I highly recommend this home as a place to stay.

Very cute, friendly town. The house could have used some maintenance/up keep but was still lovely.
Renting was super easy, access was simple. John was accessable if needed and very nice to work with.

Wonderful home. Wonderful host.
My only gripe, and it’s a minor one, is related to parking. I wish we could have fit two cars in the driveway. There is on-street parking, so it wasn’t terribly difficult, but we did have two cars and had to deal with folks parking outside the house in the additional spot. Otherwise, everything fab!

Great hub for North Shore
This home has lots of space and unique character. It is an older house in a historic area yet offers modern comforts and is walkable to the town of Marblehead. We enjoyed being able to explore the towns and beaches in the North Shore from this base, yet having a great living room and space to relax at the end of a busy day. The kitchen was great for simple meal prep and had a nice layout for casual dining. Our kids got a kick out of the dual staircases and the ping pong table in the attic! John was easy to communicate with and the no-contact check in and check out worked well.

Great Location
The house is close to the coast and there is a lot to see in Marblehead itself. We had a great time and the house was perfect for our family. We wanted to get to the attic and play ping pong, but we never found time to do so.
