About this house rental
Welcome to Tuxedo Flats. As the name implies, you are about to immerse in a ‘formally informal’ vacation experience. The property is comprised of two 5-bedroom, 5.5-baths, 2250 square foot flats (one over the other) that rents as one 10-bedroom home. The beach is just across the street and the back yard is resplendent with cool, relaxing water and recreational features. Plus you'll have FREE Golf and Activities every day of your stay to make it even better (value of up to $800/day).
For Summer, Tuxedo Flats rents Sunday to Sunday, the rest of the year, you pick your dates.
On arrival, you will find impeccably-crafted matching homes on each floor. Decorated in what is typically described as “coastal chic" they are spacious and minimalist in concept leaving plenty of room for an ample gathering of family and friends. Luxurious 10- foot ceilings, custom moldings, high-end fixtures and electronic packages complete the setting.
Each customized island kitchen is appointed with Wood-Mode cabinetry, GE Profile appliances, granite countertops, and an elegantly carved travertine backsplash to delight both foodies and non-cooks alike. Fully equipped, with every imaginable utensil and counter-top appliance, all you need add are the groceries.
The bright Great Rooms form the main social area with a high-definition TV and DVD player. A wet bar with stand-alone ice maker and wine refrigerator awaits you in preparation for that perfect vacation libation.
Each bedroom is equipped with its own bathroom, television, and DVD player. Each level has three “master suites” with king-sized beds and private balcony access. And there is a fully handicapped equipped - specifically designed bedroom for special-needs guests or senior citizens. Each level also has a room for kids to call their own during their stay. An elevator connects all levels together with the ground floor for ease of use.
Practical appointments abound including large-capacity washers and dryers, and a wireless Internet service which enables you to stay connected to friends and family. You will also find that the garage accessible large elevator will help jump-start your holiday quickly and effortlessly.
Connecting large front and back decks enhance the beach views and lagoon features - perfect for a quiet read or afternoon cocktails. Headed to the beach? Grab a Tuxedo Flat beach cart provided for your use, and trundle 100 feet across the street and public beach access and discover the white sands and glistening emerald waters of the Gulf. Complete the day’s activity in the landscaped pool area with lounge chairs, the refreshing pool, grilling and relaxing siestas under our covered gazebo or in the hammock. Enjoy a shaded ping-pong table or swing in the hammock chairs in our secluded outdoor breezeway. And when the outdoor temperature turns a little brisk, turn it back with our HEATED pool! The smaller pool closest to the house can be heated for $50/day.
Located just two miles west of Highway 59 on West Beach Boulevard, temptations abound with wonderful places, from great beachfront dives like West Beach Grill (walking distance along with S&S Seafood), Bahama Bobs, Sea and Suds and The Hangout (great bands all the time) to local restaurants such as DeSoto's, The Shrimp Basket and more. A couple blocks further you will discover a half a dozen dining locations that are perfect for lunch or dinner. There’s a delightful waterpark with all kinds of rides and slides for, yup, kids of all ages. A little further there are go-kart tracks (try the Woody!), amusements, and several miniature golf courses that are the perfect way to spend a few hours off the beach.

We had such a wonderful time. Definitely come back again. When we got there and a smoke alarm needed a battery and we called and they showed up immediately! Thanks so much the house was beautiful!

Overall our stay was very nice. We had 12 family members. Plenty of room to spread out and great areas to gather as a group. It is conveniently located just across the street from a beach access which was wonderful. Gulf Shores Vacation Rentals were very professional and responsive. We did have issues with the elevator and they came right away two times. The first gentleman arrived and he didn’t report anything to us. Had he taken the time to explain there was a part missing/broken and you did have to MANUALLY close the door on the bottom level, the second guy would not have had to come back out. Updating the signs at the elevator would have been very helpful. All types of warnings about not opening/closing the elevator doors. So, upon arrival we hauled all of our 7 days luggage, groceries, etc up the steps which was a huge undertaking. The landscaping at the garage doors needs to be cut back. We had a huge van and it scraped our vehicle every time we went in and out. The landscaping around the pools could also use some cleaning up as things are overgrown and scary looking. The house furnishings are showing age and the floors and kitchen tables were filthy...the grandkids feet stayed black. The layout of the house itself was exceptional. Highly recommend ACME Oyster House, Surfside Pizza and Bahama Bob’s.

This house was impeccable. Yes it’s across the road from the beach, but it still has a beautiful view of the beach/ocean. You can hear the waves from the balconies every morning/day/night. The two pools and pool area were high quality and perfect for all the kids when we were done at the beach. The bedrooms all had huge beds and great space. So many bathrooms. Loved the two kitchens and ice makers and all the kitchen things. We were able to spread out but also gather together when wanted. The couches are huge and nice. Everything was great. There’s also a large storage room at the bottom with everything from sidewalk chalk, to wagon, to chairs, to boogie boards and everything in between. The families loved all of the outdoor seating available and picnic tables and ping pong table to play. We used the charcoal grill a couple nights too which was nice. Someone left some charcoal and we in turn left some for the next group. We typically stay together for vacation (9 adults and 11 children ages 1-10) and this has been our favorite house yet.

This beautiful home is perfectly designed for a large group. We loved that each room had its own bath and 2 large kitchens and lots of deck space. The heated pool was enjoyed by the kids and the beach access was just across the street.

Most of my family members were skeptical of a beach getaway. Most beach trips have been somewhat disheveled. Rarely has a beach city experience overwhelming surprised my family. Everyone enjoyed the privacy of having their own bathroom and the 1/2 bathroom on each level. Every staff member were more than willing to assist and showed true southern hospitality. Thanks GSV rentals. We will definitely visit again.

My family takes an annual Labor Day beach vacation, and, we never stay in the same place twice. We have already reserved this beautiful house for next year!! The location is as perfect as you can get without paying the outrageous rate for a beachfront. The beach access is literally across the street! We had a couple of very small issues (toilets filling slowly, or not flushing), and those were resolved immediately! I loved that they had sent me a text while we were in route so we had a quick, easy way of getting in touch with them. The wine cooler on the 2nd floor didn't cool well (not a big deal for us as we were just going to keep extra water and sodas chilled in it, and you do have 2 full sized refrigerators in the house), but the service guy got a measurement for it while he was there changing out the toilet flapper valve, so it will be replaced soon. The huge covered area under the house was great for family gathering in a shaded, breezy spot while the kids swam in the pools. It was so nice that we actually spent most of our stay in the pool area, and only went over to the beach a few times. Overall, the location, cleanliness, space, decor, pools were perfect for us!!

Tuxedo flats was everything we needed and more for our family beach week. We had more than enough space for LOTS of people. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the pools and all the beach and pool toys were a major bonus. We had a couple minor issues come up and the property manager was prompt and very responsive. The location, just across the street from beach access, can’t be beat. Many in our group did not want to leave. We’d easily recommend Tuxedo Flats to others and will certainly not include it on our list for next summer.

Tuxedo Flats had the perfect set up for our extended family of 22. We had a wonderful time. Beach access is one house east and across the street. We enjoyed both the beach and pools. The property description is accurate. The few issues we had were addressed immediately. Suggest eating at Zeke’s Restaurant at Zeke’s Landing and Marina. If you’re a fisherman they will cook your catch! Would recommend this property.

Our family stayed at Tuxedo Flats recently and we’re very pleased with the property. The proximity to the beach access was very convenient and the two pools were very popular with everyone. Our family ranged from age 5 to 87 so the elevator was important for us to have. There was plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable. We had an issue with our air conditioning and it was fixed within an hour of calling. The only complaints we had were the hot water didn’t get very hot, the internet was very weak which affected the television streaming and the beverage refrigerator on the second floor didn’t work. Someone came to check it but it was never fixed. All in all everything was great. The free tickets to local attractions were also very welcome. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a large space for a family gathering.

There were minor issues; such as ants on 1st level kitchen, WiFi connectivity on 2nd level was in and out, AC on 1st level, some members experienced lukewarm water temperatures in their showers and not the most comfortable mattresses in a few of the rooms. However, management was very responsive when contacted. Overall property was well maintained , adequate space and nice pool areas. I would consider staying again.

We picked this home based on location and size. All bedrooms have a full bathroom which was a must since we had multiple families and couples. 4 stars for overall stay because we don't let things that should be taken care of ruin our good time and we did enjoy ourselves. The general condition of the home is okay but it I don't think the property has been taken care of as best it should be. 2nd floor had luke warm water, service team came out and said they turned it up but prob needed a new heater. Water was warmer but they need a new heater for sure so anyone on that level had to get a quick cool shower. Location is wonderful. Close to everything we needed. Now, 2 stars for cleanliness!!! 3rd floor master bathtub was filthy, several beds had sand in them on both 2nd and 3rd floors. We washed the sheets ourselves in every bedroom because we wanted to make sure we were sleeping with clean sheets. The floors were horrendous. Looks like housekeeping only swept them but both levels turned your feet black after only walking for a few steps. We bought a bucket and some Mr clean and cleaned the floors as well. So for ad much as we paid for this home, we were very displeased with having to clean anything as it all should have been in immaculate condition. Management company was nice but they are getting taken advantage of by whoever cleans the house!! Overall we gave it a 3 star due to the cleanliness of the house with multiple things being just nasty and the hot water heater not working properly really sucked for 2nd floor people. We would stay there again after verifying a few of those things were addressed and would love to give this place a better rating. But with so many other options around it would be hard for me to pick this place first without trying another. Always check the reviews. This place didn't have many bad ones as it really shouldn't. I understand everyone's stay can't be perfect but these things were easily addressable to have checked

Overall we were happy with are stay. We did have continued issues with the elevator not working properly which a couple attempts were made to repair with it finally operational to the top unit but not the 1st unit. We also had continued issues with no or inconsistent hot water to the 1st unit which was eventually fixed on Wednesday, this was frustrating. The property management was prompt in response to issues and did send someone to address issues quickly. The property was great, relatively clean, great proximity to beach and nice views. Could use some sprucing up and replacement of kitchen pans and silverware. The separate units worked well with our large family providing plenty of space for all. I would give 4 stars

We are a large multi generational group. 1 month old to 76 years old. The place was clean and ready when we arrived. Having the elevator really helps bring in all your luggage. Having an on suite bathroom with each bedroom was great. The Beach is right across the street. Having the 2 pools made for so much fun and relaxing when you did not go to the beach. We had something come up that need attention from maintenance and we would email them. The very next morning they were there to take care of it. I can’t recommend this place enough for all it has to offer.

The property was in excellent condition. We didn’t get an opportunity to enjoy the big pool because the wind was breezy…however, the heated pool was wonderful!

I traveled with 14 women for a weekend getaway and Tuxedo Flats were perfect for our group. The beach across the street provided the perfect view from the house as well as being located close to the bridge to access the beach. We will definitely return.
